Happy 20th, old as fuck Joe (coming from older than thou Sumo)
Steve Kimock at the Middle East this Monday, in case you’re jonesin for some live jam before June 7
Hope all’s well!
(speaking of umass amherst, today was graduation in the stadium. cars been rolling thru all day)
If more glowsticks at shows meant less yappity-fuck-yakking from the chit-chatty-stfu-talkers, then I’d be all over those glowsticks. But…
#happyfuckitsfriday 8)
working monday till midnight unfortunately. but work is also only a few minutes away from the middle east, so a quick pop in might be in order if he’s still playing.
those old spring concerts got some really good lineups (as the phish bill shows.) a little something for everyone too. I think another year had Bob Dylan, Dinosaur Jr. and Naughty by Nature (at the height of the hey-ho, hey-ho years)
Surfer recognized for riding the biggest wave ever…. 78 feet!

” I once heard a bootleg of them playing a full talking heads lp…it was surprisingly great”
-some random in the “Funk and Soul Cave” on TT after dropping the above Tube
^
There is a surfer named 78 feet? Must be a family name.
Turntable for Android is out

Happy birthday @Joe!!
It ghost, huh? hadn’t given that one a listen in a long time. Can we go back to Limestone? With AC being the closest thing to a festival this year, will there be extended, festival-like jams? (not that the 3.0 we’ve had too many at the 3.0 fests anyway) If so, I may need to beg, borrow and steal to get down there.
on cue. no b-day, just a 20 year phish anniversary yesterday (and my lady’s b-day, as well as a former lady’s b-day. must be something about 5/10)
First spin of Daves Picks 2. Thank God for the Good Ol Grateful Dead.
Truth be told, this week was an absolute shit storm and my mind awarded me last night with my favorite type of dream…. no, not that you perv… the Grateful Dead concert dream. Nothing better. This time I was in the front row of a balcony at the Warfield (never been there, not sure if there is a balcony) and the show was poppin and I was genuinely happy.
Listened to One from the Vault today in the car, perhaps my favorite album ever. Life affirming music. It really has it all, from the beautiful to the strange. If anyone ever asks you what music to play at my funeral, the answer is Sage and Spirit from that album.
Enjoy!
“the Byrne”
Joe I did way too much drugs last nite. Sorry bruh. Happy birthday to all the ladies in your life.
Figured we’d see you in AC in the long run!
^^ Ha!
last night? as opposed to the last few decades…
One from the Vault Eyes is a favorite of mine

It sure was!
^my daughters name is Sage…a partial nod to that song And a few other Sage references. Also a fan of OFTV. It’s been a minute.
Beautiful name! Really love that.
Wife was just taking pictures of our sage in the yard a few minutes ago. Just bloomed and is psychedelic as all get out. Sage rules.
My google-fu is strong tonight!
I found the mediafire link to all of Mr C’s Grateful Dead compilations (mp3 format) -remember those?

Nice sumo! I think the only one I’m missing is the ’76-’78 compilation.
I thought he did them in Alac , though ? Anyhoo.. They are great. Great selections from every era. Something for everyone.
I’m sure C will pop his head up when tour rolls around. He is in the twitter universe on occasion.
Twitter has become a new Internet addiction for me. Non stop information feed. I barely , if ever, read a newspaper anymore. Crazy times.
