    Dave’s Pick 2 – 7/31/74

    To Lay Me Down, Truckin>MLBJ>Spanish Jam>Wharf Rat….

^^^ this is what it’s all about for me. 50 minutes of quintessential GD.

Get your ears on it, kids!

  2. Mr. Palmer Says:

Yeah AJ- my least favorite Jerry ballad.

    TPS report:

Yeah, we were fairly high up but the speaker arrays were still above us, and the rear tower (which was behind home plate) was behind us, despite our spot above the home plate side of the dugout. I imagine the sound was fantastic even in the upper reaches last night but YMMV indoors, of course.

I would get as close to center as you can, and high enough so you’re above the 3 massive projection/sound/light booths (but the setup for an indoor arena may be slightly different, so again YMMVOMGBBQ).

  4. ThePigSong Says:

Thanks voops! Coordinatin my schedule to have that night off next month.

Your mileage vary, oh my god beautiful boobed queens. (?)

  5. BingosBrother Says:

    You got an empty cup
    Only love can fill

Happy Saturday fLEGIONAIRRES, camman, ned, bad nirvana cover band, etc.

  6. Mr. Palmer Says:

Think my wife just gave me the go ahead for Worcester….

    Woosta, Bitches!

3 hr 45 min drive according to google maps = layup.. Nice!

  7. BingosBrother Says:

Better come up big tomorrow palmer. seal the deal.

  8. sumodie Says:

Pigsong, cheap uppers may be sweet but as voopa said try not to be too far to either side of the arena. Indoors there should be less concern about sound quality compared to stadiums; hopefully you know the arena

We sat straight back at the Hartford Civic Center, and the light/projection control station gave off an insane amount of light which might be annoying if you’re directly behind it (we weren’t). Biggest indoor light/projection setup I’d ever seen -so many computer terminals…

And it’s basically a stay in your seat kinda show. Hope you go, it’s a very unique experience

    Repost (sounds great thus far)

May 11, 2012 Spiritualized show in Wash DC available for download (mp3)

  10. kayatosh Says:

    From Coventry Music Blog

Hal Masa who did the You Enjoy My Mix of Phish 2010 performances put out this Dark Star Mix. Great job with his earlier mixes, and from his previous track record, this will be good as well. Diving into it in a few minutes.

Dark Star – Nightfall of Diamonds — Tracklist:
8/27/72 Old Renaissance Faire Groundsm Veneta, OR >
2/26/73 Pershing Municipal Auditorium, Lincoln, NE >
2/18/71 Capitol Theater, Port Chester, NY >
4/8/72 Wembley Empire Pool, London, ENG >
5/11/72 Rotterdam Civic Hall, Rotterdam, NED >
10/12/68 Avalon Ballroom, San Francisco, CA >
9/19/70 Fillmore East, New York, NY >
10/25/73 Dane Country Coliseum, Madison, WI

  12. plord Says:

That is a heavyweight Dark Star mix for sure. If the 2/18/71 segment doesn’t include the “Beautiful Jam” I’ll eat a bug. Wembley->Rotterdam is strong medicine. Madison ’73 is severely underrated. I’ll be pulling that for sure.

  13. Angryjoggerz Says:

Love Madison 73, that is some head music right there

  14. Gavinsdad Says:

Ok I just need to mention that I’m at a wedding and it’s the FIRST time I’ve ever seen beers during the ceremony (miller lite cans at that)

  15. Jtran Says:

Speaking of The Wall…anyone need/want tickets to the Hartford show in June? June 29 to be exact. May conflict with a Phish date?

I’ve had them on stubhub since I moved and they haven’t sold. Just want someone to use the tickets really…make me an offer?

    jtranvt23@ geemail

  16. sumodie Says:

Jtran, try western mass craigslist. i could very likely meet a buyer in person, like at woosta phish or somewhere else

    what section?

  17. Mr. Palmer Says:

quiet night on the BB. Am I the only loser sitting home on a sat night watching sports and listening to tunes?

2 Game 7’s tonight! Rangers/Caps now and lakers/ Nugs later on.. Good times…

  18. Jtran Says:

    217. Tickets are still in VT so I could have them shipped down to you if you don’t mind facilitating. I’ll try CL this week too, thanks.

  19. Xpun Says:

If you still have that code would love it

    Xpun25 yahoo

I’m watching the games as well. Was hoping for a caps win but looks like I’m pulling for the rangers from here on.

  20. Mr. Palmer Says:

    mail sent Xpun

Rangers / Devils will be a great series.

  21. sumodie Says:

jtran, the Hartford CC is a small (& perfect) venue for something like the Wall -you should be able to find a buyer

Western Mass is close enough to Hartford and Worcester/Central Mass that someone on craigslist looking for tix in those areas should also see the western mass listing

also try the greenboard (and maybe cashortrade)

so yeah, I can help connect the dots

  22. sumodie Says:

spun that entire Spiritualized show this afternoon, wow, I’m ready to see them again. Makes me appreciate my Boston show even more

also listened to 7.13.99 Great Woods for the first time on replay, what an exuberant, effortless sounding show. Made me feel the feeling I forgot (that I used to LOVE Great Woods, lol)

  23. xpun Says:

palmer – thanks, was searching for some of kp’s remasters last night and realized i was going to need to get a code, and BOOM the bb delivers, got to the how the universe comes together

been getting back into hockey for the first time this playoffs since the late 90s, such a fun game

not a big bball fan, but will always watch the chance to see kobe knocked out 😉

making plans to see the wall in dc, good to see such positive reviews on here. maybe ill take my son, probably easier to break him into shows with a production like like. he’s been to some musicals and really had fun, plus i can prep him with the album, so he can stay interested to the story. good first show for sure

  24. butter Says:

Spiritualized gets best band name ive heard in a bit

Joinin ya on the couch Palmer for La vs Den game 7

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, have become comfortably num 😉

  25. xpun Says:

i did nashville to great woods in 99 and those two shows were such a fun cap to my leg of tour. dont think ive ever relistened before. i know the split was on here a few weeks ago and i remembered really liking it at the time.

also hit oswego the next week, and listened to the tweezer>have mercy in the car today. such a sweet festi sized tweezer. dug the extended kick drum intro from fish. the drop into tweezer is easily the most abuse my steering wheel takes, i think i scare the kids pounding the shit out of it every time that song comes on, and today it was going nuts on the interstate, those around me must have thought i was having severe road rage of something.

looking back at great woods and oswego i wish i could have appreciated the bust outs of foreplay/longtime and have mercy more. those must have been pretty big deals to some of the old fucks
