Robert Champion of The Sloping Companion is running an essay contest for those that “Like” The Sloping Companion Facebook Page. The winner will win a recycled/upcycled wood art piece. All anyone has to do to enter is write a short, two-to-three paragraph essay about why they are so passionate about Phish. The contest is running for about two weeks and the winner will have their piece aired on the show, will be on the station, and will win a specially-created, one of a kind art piece.

good morning ya’ll. back from a hot week in Arizona. really dislike the desert after 5 days. gonna spin these choice cuts, try to get some office work done.

  3. Leo Weaver Says:

If I could pull off a flatbrim, I’d have to order the Bowldogs hat…80s UGA-style dawg head with dawg puffin’…nice.

    Mornin’ folks!

  4. Kaveh Says:

Good morning BBers! Hope everyone had a great weekend; I know I did; and after getting my race done, I can turn my attention to the Worcester shows. Hope to see lots of BBers out East. Looking forward to when the lights go down.

  6. tela'smuff Says:

ditto on the new hat for tour. seeking a White Sox flat brim.

  7. Luther T. Justice Says:

I’m too old & unhip to pull off a flat brim. I also have a ginormous head which flat brims only make it look worse.

  8. Xpun Says:

Robear – may hit you up later to verify some real estate info. Thanks. Walking into work now. May be tonight or tomorrow.

The wealth of varied knowledge here, professional, social, musical, political, etc is amazing.

  9. Kaveh Says:

seeking a White Sox flat brim.

^ Do I need a Brewers flat brim for a new tour hat too? Is this tour; new hat tour?! 🙂

  10. Leo Weaver Says:

“I’m too old & unhip to pull off a flat brim. I also have a ginormous head which flat brims only make it look worse.”

Yep. That’s my problem right there.

  11. b-rock Says:

Morning all… I pulled off a surprise girls weekend for my wife’s birthday and would highly recommend it for anyone at a loss for a gift (like every dude out there).

Email the girl friends she doesn’t keep in touch with, ask them to come visit the wife, arrange dinner and hotel for them, and it’s all good. you get mega bonus points as the friends tell her what a great guy you are and they wish their husbands thought of it. Plus you get a solo weekend night out of the deal taboot.

I spent mine at home with the kids sleeping upstairs and a few local brews from Flying Dog and Dogfish. And I spun 12/11/97 at a high volume, which for my money is the best show top to bottom of fall 97. Three top-notch 20 min jams in Disease, Drowned, and Ghost -> Diseaprise plus great flow throughout = the business.

  12. Leo Weaver Says:

Oh yeah, best of good vibes heading out to SW and xpun. You’ll ace the interview SW, and if you don’t…well, you didn’t need to work there anyway, kid.

  13. Guyute711 Says:

Kick ass show from my hometown b-rock. Trey may do the First Tube prance but if you saw Jagger dancing on SNL this weekend you know we don’t have it that bad.

  14. angryjoggerz Says:

Just grabbed an all black flat brim for summer, though that might be a bit on the hot side. Had to retire the Bulls brim for a bit, still bitter.

  15. b-rock Says:

Good luck Silly… Don’t forget to ask about their prohibited web site policies – that may make your decision right there.

  16. Luther T. Justice Says:

I think I’m going to start wearing a Captain’s hat on tour to finish my Skipper of Giligan’s Island look.

  17. kayatosh Says:

    11.14.95 ->dog faced boy->

^^^^ blowing my mind right now. $$$

  18. angryjoggerz Says:

Also still a bit freaked out by almost getting shot this weekend. Last night there was another shoot out about a block away at 10pm. Fucking douchebag gangbangers arent event good shots, always get hit in the ass.

  19. Multibeast Says:

Been eyeing a new hat as of late. The BB had convinced me to pull the trigger.

That Badgers higher education hat from the site robear posted is sweet. I have sent that on to some wisco phanners. SW should def pick that one up.

    Happy Monday all.

  20. kayatosh Says:

dang, aj. that sounds awful, even worse than buying FB stock on Friday.

FB: what a joke. product is flawed and rev. potential is minimal beyond what it already generates. internet space is crowded. cannot believe some out there got zuckerberg’d.

    yoga time

    @LJ..check it yo!

Careful @aj…good luck. We used to have shootings pretty regularly in the ‘hood here (couple times a week), but they’ve pretty much stopped. Bullet hole in the house is a solid reminder of the good ol’ days. Neighbor still slings crack though. Nothin’ like a tweaker knocking on the front door at 5:30 a.m. needing his fix.

  22. Jtran Says:

    Morning comrades

Spiritualized at the Belly Up last night. What a sweet little venue. I’d guess 800ish capacity, great posters on the walls, surf and ocean decor, great sound.

The show was great. His music in the live setting totally did to me what it’s supposed to. Zoned out for a nice couple hours. The songs that he worked into a groove before the final choruses were pretty cool to see. Band was super tight. If he’s coming to your town I’d say it’s a must see.

  23. MiA Says:

    Great captains hat.

    O.K. Pookie. Do the honors.

  24. MiA Says:

Love watching FB crash. Good cheap entertainment.
