Two more days of work and two more dentist appointments before getting in a car. Anyone have a magical chicken confection time machine?

  2. MiA Says:

    Caramelized magical chicken….

  3. albert walker Says:

holy fuck. Woostah 2001. Trey thinkin he’s in the JB’s or some shit with that compin he’s got goin on.

    shit is fire yo!

  4. Dr Pronoia Says:

Hey rooster, my son had the same problem I think (ASL I think it’s called), and sure enough by around a year the hole was closed and all is well, knock knock

Enjoy this time with her – I miss the days of the little lump, watching him spastically make all sorts of faces and try to work the bugs out of his hardware on the fly

  5. Kaveh Says:

Morning BBers! Hope everyone has a great morning.

  6. neemor Says:

    Mmm. Magic gambling chickens.

Congrats Rooster…welcome to your new little blackboarder.
Man! We have a lot of sex around here. At least some of us do.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, I need to get laid.

    Worcester was sick.
Anyone else see the statue of the little sprite boy banging a sea turtle in Worcester Common? Very strange. Speaking of pics, I captured that oddity for some reason. New meaning to turtle wax. Added to the legend that is Woostah.

Who’s got my heady AC tic?

  7. neemor Says:

I suddenly desire a Scooby snack.

  8. Willowed Says:

I may be wrong here, please let me know if I am. Haven’t respun the Woosta KDF or the 2001 yet.
Does anyone feel that Troy was getting into a little KDF jam in that 2001. The licks, to me live, felt similar.

    I thought it was greatness.

That KDF needs more pimpin. That was a hot ass joint!

  9. neemor Says:

    Also, that Taste was beautiful.
The Norwegian tease was magical but Treyzor’s work throughout brought me right back to late nineties PH more than maybe any other song all night.
I feel like I can comfortably say that he has found IT again.
To my ears, I can hear that at every turn.

    The beast is back.

  10. neemor Says:

The only song to be requested having never been played.

  11. RicksFork Says:

Agreed on KDF. I brought two buddies to worcester with me who hadnt been to a 3.0 show, but were big 1.0ers back in the day and that was one of their highlights. Kept asking me what it was and making me respin it the next day in the car. Great tune with some serious potential shown in Woosta.

  12. albert walker Says:

yes in my defense of woostah 1 set 2 as set of 3.0 I failed to mention how incredibly sick that Taste is. another reason I put it a bit above UIC 1.

they’ve had a bit of trouble nailing the groove and FIsh and Mike just crush this version. some of hotter grand piano solo’s page has thrown down, again some killer comping from Troy, and some very cerebral modal guitar work to close it out

    Carini> Taste> Ghost> Boogie > If I could

    damn that shit is tasty

now a day of exciting work. need to start packing for AC.

  13. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

that’s the thing about worcester. even the “standard fare” had extra spicy sauce all over it. after kdf I knew we were in for a big time rock show (free opener was a bit of a tip off too). I just didn’t realize it would be a rock show that included stellar jamz taboot taboot.

  14. GhostPhunk Says:

@Rooster – Big ups man! Glad everything ended up ok, it’s hectic enough in those first hours when there’s no health issues. I told myself I wasn’t going to be ‘that guy’ and I’d be all calm etc… I was a mess every time they had to check up on her of take her for the bath etc… a big sloppy mess. Kids are game changers no doubt, I can honestly say that my daughter has allowed me to experience love on an entirely brand new level I was unaware of. Enjoy the hell out of every moment, congrats.

@Neemor turtle wax = morning larf. Glad we got to meet at WW for a minute my man, I was really digging your energy.

@Ricks – In 2010 I KDF began it’s potential. That SYR KDF is straight fire. There have been some barn burners since as well. Bethel last year is probably my favorite by a mile.

  15. GhostPhunk Says:

@AW I just listened to that Taste on the way to the office, I am way with you. Like everything else that night it was in fact crushed.

  16. Kevin Says:

The big question: Was Worcester this tour’s Gorge? Meaning, will the awesomeness be sustained for the entire tour, or will they start to fall back on standard rock shows as the tour progresses?

  17. neemor Says:

    Like my friends say,
Let’s hear a fucking Roses stretch.
    Got that a lil’ bit.

Here’s my feeling on this whole transformation:

In 3.0, I would always be at the edge of my seat waiting for them to hit stride and open shit up. Seldom did that happen. If it did happen, very often it happened in odd spots or just didn’t feel “right”. The times it did, we’ve talked about often.

Today I feel like I’m sitting at the edge of my seat, feeling like they should hit a groove and they do. And I know I’m not the only guy who feels like the timing is right at these moments. The crowd feels it and gives back. The band responds.
    That’s the magic.
    The give and take.
The crowd playing the band and the band hosing the fans.

I felt that on opening night and hope, more than anything else, that that feeling and pattern continues.
Letting the music, this beautiful music that Phish has created, letting it breathe….makes ALL the difference.
    Patience. Conversation….

The room felt whole to me. Like it used to.
That’s not nostalgia. Don’t get it twisted.
That’s what’s supposed to happen. And it is again.

    I love Phish.

  18. albert walker Says:

although Gorge RnR is def the hottest jam of that tour (miner feels this is a complete show but other than that 1 jam I just don’t see it) I feel UIC 1 and even some of the Dick’s sets are hotter complete shows.

so I don’t think that thesis is very correct.

Bethel leg 1 though def had a best show out of the gates feel to it.

don’t think that’s the case here.

  19. neemor Says:

    Mutual feelings, GhostPhunk.
Speaking of that….did we evewr get some Ghost funk?
    Holy tits.

  20. Kaveh Says:

@Kevin: If you want any indication of how tour will go, AC is going to be the answer. If they can keep the chops fresh and communication open during this off week, then IMO, that bodes well for the rest of Summer Tour. But, even if they are killing it, there are going to be shows that are rock and roll based and not jammed based; they have proven this in the past. Not to say that these rock and roll shows won’t be good, because if the band is playing good, well, it doesn’t really matter what they play.

  21. neemor Says:

BTW, it was mentioned yesterday, but I also felt that it was Ghost>Boogie On>Ghost.
Not sure why, but I’ll keep researching.

  22. neemor Says:

    My guess (and hope):
Phish will get better as this tour develops. Like they used to every show suring a tour. Fluidity, loosening up, swagger….it’s all coming.
    AC will be leveled.
More importantly, by the time they get to the Beach, Long Island will be shortened.

  23. Kaveh Says:

The crowd feels it and gives back. The band responds.

^ see the Roses jam; everyone in the house was WAITING for them to drop into it. You literally could fell the “are they going to do it?” vibe. And when they did; the place exploded; f’ing exploded. That is such a great memory.

  24. neemor Says:

    That’s “during a tour”.
    Suring is something completely different.

  25. marcoesq Says:

    Phish 4.0!!

what was amazing about that 2001 was the RED was the one that kept it going after every verse, you could tell everyone else thought they were bout to wrap it up but he just kept it going!

    Show selling out: Troy rawker
