On the way to the show on Saturday, I saw this tweet from @AlexDavis_says, but didn’t have time to check it out. When I finally listened, I was blown away! Much props guys, this is absolutely hilarious!

it’s not his fault Alf. the 60 show crew can be quite critical.

back at work feeling great. these 5 shows from tour have centered my head and gotten me ready to jump back into work headfirst. excited to make some coin and play these funky markets.

may hit Blossom, and possibly one or both of creeks if not see you kids in AV and then California.

really just an amazing weekend. perfect weather. great people. open field, clean numbers and letters, and irie spliffs.

it’s crazy but seeing the band in this great shape and hanging with all these great tour friends makes me re energized to conquer this babylon shit. have to after what I dropped at the Borgata all weekend.

and remember kids sometimes just rippin ass technical fusion guitar is a better harder to play and more interesting to listen to than stomping on a loop pedal. Prancer is crushing and the drum n bass groove is dirty, wobbly, goodness.

jumpin back out for the day. a lot to do. may check in on some thoughts after a couple spins. still glowing on the live perfromance.

    love you kids laterz.

ya’ll forget to add the chick with the metal pipe was smoking as all shit. what a hottie. if you’re into the 4 ft 2 in 175 lbs red headed female troll look.

The 9th Edition of the New SillyWilly Dictionary of Tour Terms (revised) (revised again, SW, 2012, Madison):

meander: v. origin: Syracusian, Upstate New Yorkers: with a hint of sarcasm, sudden quick changes that lead aimlessly to great jams like the AC Piper.

    see e.g.: AC Light Manteca.

used in a sentence: Phish meanders slowly lucking into jams like the Worcester Carini.

  13. alf Says:

possibly t3… i think he just has very particular taste in jams. e.g. DTE disease is his jam b/c it lands in a very coherent thematic, melodic type jam

    e.g. it ‘goes somewhere’

greek light is another like this

my guess is he’s not a fan of UIC disease….. which to me is brilliant

never settles into one space, but keeps moving…. (apparently it meanders)

Billy Breathes is best ballad the band

^ It is one of my favorite ballad’s. The Red Rocks 09 version, with the slowed down tempo was absolutely sublime. Glad to see it come out. Are RR and AC the only two versions of this song in 3.0? (I’ll check…)

  16. Kaveh Says:

Nope: three in 3.0. Hartford: 06.18.10 was the third.

  20. voopa Says:

Dreamed last night that I was at a show, and they started Guelah somewhere in a first set after much anticipation. Place went nuts. Weird. I think my dream was more about the anticipation than anything. Amazing how intense that feeling gets before shows, before sets and between songs.

For me that feeling typically goes away during set 2, especially if I’m expecting more segues than they’re delivering. But there’s that “expectations” thing again…clearly I’m very emotionally invested in this band.

LOVE Billy Breathes, was pretty moved by it’s emergence Friday.

Just loved that show/set altogether, so glad we decided on hitting that one also. Once again, Phish show 1 provides the improvisational meat.
