TTFF: Ten More From 2012
As promised, today brings another ten jams from this past tour. This week, I chose my second-favorite, summer ten pack and simply created a playlist that flows, rather than trying to order them in any specific way. Without further ado, let’s get right to the music.

“Roses Are Free” 6.8 I, Worcester
Over a decade in waiting, the next “Roses” jam finally came in the first set of Worcester’s second show.

“Tweezer” 6.10 I, Bonnaroo
Who’d have thought that tour’s most impressive “Tweezer” would come during the first set a Bonnaroo? Laced with their new school sound, this jam looked like it was a sign of things to come from their classic jam. Well…still waiting…

“Ghost > Boogie On” 6.7 II, Worcester
First nights of tours have been special for the past few years, and Worcester was no exception. Here is the now-famous paring that came out in the middle of the second set of tour.

“Light -> Manteca -> Light” 6.16 II, Atlantic City
Another of four standout “Lights” from tour, this improvisational mashup—”Lighteca”—provided the meatiest segment of AC’s second show.

“Twist” 7.4 II, Jones Beach
On a night known for fireworks, Phish’s central jam took the audience on a cerebral ride through inner space.

“Piper“6.15 II, Atlantic City
Every “Piper” played this tour seemed to pop with a different energy. This version is very melody based, distancing itself from other, more percussive and high octane experiments.

“Back on the Train” 6.28 II, Deer Creek
Once Trey starts in with the loops, this jam turns into a psychedelic fantasy.

“Down With Disease” 6.22 II, Cincinnati
The version of the summer, albeit cut a tad prematurely? Thus far, I think so…

“Sand -> Nellie Kane” 6.8 I, Worcester
Out of all the bangin’ versions of summer, Worcester’s densely packed adventure still holds my heart.

“Golden Age > Ghost” 6.24 II, Blossom
When Phish took “Golden Age” for its first spin of summer, they launched into the unknown, setting a 2012 precedent for the modern era cover. And coupling it with a hard-edged-turned-experimental “Ghost,” Phish jump-started their final set of the weekend.

nice @jtran! jealous. i’m already researching my Cali vacation/brew tour. there’s this little Phish 30th Anniversary special event aka playing on the moon, that’s getting in the way. some day.
caught the k-waves tonight big time. kimock, worrell, john kimock, & andy hess. wow! rumble of thunder now in the post show quiet of the family home sums it up. super smooth four piece outfit. major chemistry and feel. jazzy inclinations. kimock guitar switchin maestro — the les paul, the strat, the hollow body that looks like a cello. feelin IT, especially after the halftime introduction to the vprpen. a few Sierra Nevada torpedos (highly recommended IPA) and a dale’s pale. kimock still has the super fluid chops and laid back feel. S.K. originally from bethlehem PA. and his son on drums. . . forgettaboutit. the kid is money. $$$. kimock/hess is a formidable section. POCKET. and bernie, at 68, more than holds his own on the boards. he has a musical sixth sense. delivering the p-funk flav or the talkin heads flav or the meters flav at will, all while looking supeer skinny in a prince-purple jacket. elanor rigby, reggae style — $$$. 5b4 funk. come together. take me to the river. going on very little sleep from last night, but the music gave me energy; floated me. eyes closed, full dance sway. a spiritual, big smile success. went w/ my steady rollin concert partner and he, not cannibally inclined tonight, still had the same smile. it’s the music man. the 4 piece is powerful
