  2. Gavinsdad Says:

Listening again. Base level head space first. Better headspace later.

  3. Mr.Miner Says:

  4. Phishm0610 Says:

I enjoy watching the boys work. I pull many youtube videos just to see their level of communication. This is the 1st time I watched this Light. Wow.

  5. Lycanthropist Says:

whatever this light is totally overrated.

the dicks bdntl is where its at

  6. Mr.Miner Says:

as they ease into the groove section it has a Birdland feel (weather report)

  7. mitch Says:

Fashion week in the city. I swear they turn the attractive lady ratio to 11 this week. Hot girls everywhere. There’s a spot by my job that’s always hoppin, girls spilling into the sidewalk. Even crazier this week. Would never have expected that type of place in this part of town but it does really well somehow.

    So how bout that light?

  8. TrippingBilly Says:

My friend played the stringcheese version of birdland for me once. That song is awesome!

  9. Lycanthropist Says:

birdland is a pretty good tune

  10. Gavinsdad Says:

@miner – nope. I’d “complained” mildly a couple days after they played it that I didn’t like the beeping loop trey had going in the front 3rd of the exploration – that actually gets folded into the wash as the jam moves ahead. It was loud in my car and a gravitated to the beeps. Switching it up now.

Also, I am on that strange cautious precipice of labeling this new music as best only because the weight of so many prior top shelf jams have held those honors for years. I think I’m not yet able to accept this “new form” as truly above and beyond previous banner years/jams/styles but trust me, I am starting to feel/understand that this summer presented us with the culmination of the greatest playing ever.

    Which is really saying something.

  11. Mr.Miner Says:

page hints at Reprise/Tweezer lyrics on the piano in the final dark build.

  12. Mr.Miner Says:

as in before they leave the Light jam per se?

  13. Mr.Miner Says:

i’ve got this jam right up against roses > piper in my mind

  14. mitch Says:

Dot be afraid gdad. Step into the light.

  15. Mr.Miner Says:

    ^ yes.

  16. mitch Says:

Also, Neil degrase tyson came into my work. Wanted to go geek out about space but didn’t wanna be a fan boy.

“hey Neil, you like space? You should check this light jam!”

  17. mitch Says:

What kinda fanboy are you if you get excited to talk to a dude from the natural history museum and PBS?

  18. Mr.Miner Says:

if its this one delay loop that is part of the secondary soundscape, I find it to be sick as hell, he even plays off it in the bliss peak a la Miami Stash ’03. But perhaps we are talking about different things.

  19. mitch Says:

If its that electronic noise I heard in there I wanted that shit to keep going. I’m gonna have to listen back. There was part that sounded like robot noises.

  20. MiA Says:

9:30 or so it picks me up until then… I’ve heard it.

  21. kayatosh Says:

“About half way through they hit a cosmic fluidity and never lose it.”
