TTFF: Highlights of Summer

Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (Michael Stein)

Light > Ghost” 7.1 II Alpine

One of the smoothest and most original segments of music from Leg One.

Undermind” 8.31 I Dick’s

The best first set closer ever?

Birds of a Feather” 6.15 II, AC

At the end of the summer, this “Birds” from the first night of AC, can still hang with any jam of the season.

Tweezer” 8.17 II, SF

A banger from Bill Graham.

Twist” 6.22 II, Cincy

Jesus Christ Super Twist. Never Forget.

Carini”  6.7 II, Worcester

The first jam of summer still sounds just as fresh as it did in June.

Piper” 8.18 II, SPAC

The “Piper” of the summer.

Sand > Roggae” 6.22 II, Cincy

A full-band funk jam in “Sand,” the likes of which we didn’t hear in the second half of summer.

Harry Hood” 8.15 II, Long Beach

This multi-tiered “Hood” punctuated a majestic opening night in Long Beach.

  1. Spasm Waiter Says:

Hey folks. Been a while. Up early this time of year for striper charters. Love exposing my customers to these jams via my new jawbone jambox I keep on the boat. Thanks for everything Miner.

  2. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

Totally read “striper charters” wrong 😯

Thanks for another gaggle of jams, miner. Some Grade A phish up there

  3. Mr. Palmer Says:

Morning kids. Been at work for 3 hours already. Tired.

  4. Luther T. Justice Says:

I’m a Cincy Twist groupie & I like stripper charters & striper charters.

  5. phoammhead Says:

miner reinventing himself in the last post and dropping the tried and true today . . . good times

  6. xpun Says:

Great list. I’ve been guilty of too much dicks the past few weeks. Need to branch back out.

I also read striper charter wrong. It involved a large van and a bunch of bitches.

  7. SillyWilly Says:

I read striper charter wrong, too.

  8. MiA Says:

    “Gophers you idiot. Not Golfers!”
“we can do that. We dont even need a reason”

Go team USA in the Ryder Cup.

today’s BB chat brought to you by “Stars and Stripes and Strippers and Stripers”

  9. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

I think the clear message here is that spaz needs to diversify his business

  10. MiA Says:

Spasm had me at “love exposing my customers…”

  11. SillyWilly Says:

I was just talking with my girlfriend the other day about male hormonal levels changing through out the day.

Do you guys like sex better in the morning?

I’m a morning person in all facets of my life. I fade as the sun heads west.

  12. MiA Says:

    Thinking about this…

“we guarantee the biggest strippers on our charter”

Maybe not such a good idea to confuse the two.

  13. xpun Says:

Going to start my 93 listening today. 2-3 tour opener. first show w baby grand. Any recs from that sprung tour to make sure to catch?

  14. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

I freaking love the “set the controls” jam in the Cincy Twist

  15. MiA Says:

Do you guys like sex better in the morning?

Once you turn 40 I think the “option” part goes out the window for a lot of married folks.

I’m not an expert on this but their manual on “how to snare a husband” starts with saying they like sex in the morning. This creates more overnight stays, purchasing of toothbrush for your apartment and stocking fridge and pantry with breakfast foods and cereal”

If you don’t want to get married, back seat of the car, is still the best option.

Preferably someone’s car you don’t know.

  16. xpun Says:

Women are more beautiful in the sunlight so yeah I like it in the morning. I don’t turn down night time sex though.

And if I need it in the morning or the middle of the night I ain’t to proud to beg.

  17. MiA Says:

    Or take a shower Xpun.

  18. MiA Says:

As Mr. P says “I’ll be here all night. Thank you”

  19. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

the Roxy shows (2.19-21) which were released a few years ago are classic and super phishy (and I think that 2.19.93 is the last time they played on fish’s – and my- birthday)
4.10 Chicago is a personal fav (though sources may be crappy due to the venue)
3.14 Gunnison is one I like a lot
3.22 Sacramento is well known and has a Gamehendge set (voopa’s first show maybe?)

I really could keep going and I skipped a bunch already. seriously, there’s a ton of classics in that tour. just prepare yourself for a lot of repeats as the repertoire was smaller. and there are a lot of BBJs. A LOT.

  20. SillyWilly Says:

holy shit. you’re good. How’d you do that?

First, I bought her a toothbrush for my apartment.
Then, I bought the banana/chocolate cheerios combination. (her favorite)

  21. MiA Says:

Cali spring ’93 is on fire all along the coast.

Apple really hosed up the maps thing. Googles “online” map app sucks.

Don’t know why Snow was defending it. I may be downgrading my wife’s phone it’s so bad.

  22. MiA Says:

@SW As Page says “I’ve been around”

  23. MiA Says:

Wait, there are banana chocolate cheerios?!

  24. xpun Says:

Thanks t3. Have the roxy shows, and really like them. Love that old phishiness for sure. Will probably just try to hit the highlights because of tighter rotation but we will see.

I’ve asked before but I get most my old stuff from Are they good sources or do you guys have any other sites you use

  25. ren Says:

“I freaking love the “set the controls” jam in the Cincy Twist”

^THIS!!!! Definitely one of my favorite jam pieces this summer

I like a tasty beverage in the morning….often has a nice mimosa vibe once in a while a bloody mary ;- )

Tasty beverages in the evening tend to be more of whiskey double in comparison and are often a little more primal for lack of a better word.

Spinnin’ 7-6-94 this morning as work allows. Looking forward to this MiAREBA!
