TTFF: Highlights of Summer

Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (Michael Stein)

Light > Ghost” 7.1 II Alpine

One of the smoothest and most original segments of music from Leg One.

Undermind” 8.31 I Dick’s

The best first set closer ever?

Birds of a Feather” 6.15 II, AC

At the end of the summer, this “Birds” from the first night of AC, can still hang with any jam of the season.

Tweezer” 8.17 II, SF

A banger from Bill Graham.

Twist” 6.22 II, Cincy

Jesus Christ Super Twist. Never Forget.

Carini”  6.7 II, Worcester

The first jam of summer still sounds just as fresh as it did in June.

Piper” 8.18 II, SPAC

The “Piper” of the summer.

Sand > Roggae” 6.22 II, Cincy

A full-band funk jam in “Sand,” the likes of which we didn’t hear in the second half of summer.

Harry Hood” 8.15 II, Long Beach

This multi-tiered “Hood” punctuated a majestic opening night in Long Beach.

doubleheaders + MSG. I’ll be hungry for these shows. SF made me realize how important it is to see the phish and connect w/ the people. filling soul holes.

  3. kayatosh Says:

giving 7.18.99 Jim>Free another spin. jam ideas not as fresh in 99, but there’s good flow. they keep it moving.

  4. ren Says:

Maybe Troy wants to introduce some slicker/more polished production as well….better options in NY I would think.

Only rumor I want to hear now is that they’ll be in the studio or at least dedicated practicing before Holiday

  5. ren Says:

@kaya- looking forward to filling some soul holes with the best of ’em!

  6. kayatosh Says:

  12. Bad Nirvana Cover Band Says:

GA floor for 4 nights @MSG. Don’t tell the chair folding union.

  13. Phamily Berzerker Says:

    Everybody have a good weekend?

Missing NYE this year by choice, doing a family throw down at Disneyland and saving up both $$ and credit for whatever next year presents in terms of tour and special events. Not missing the festival.

Nice to see a certain cliche sticking around after the turbulence. 😉

  14. kayatosh Says:

from turbulence, comes growth (and catchy cliches).

went a little aggro on you, PB, but it’s good to challenge each other. I know you can handle your own. lively debate. a free exchange of ideas.

and this 7.18.99 Free sounds dirty.

  15. kayatosh Says:

    good dirty

  16. sumodie Says:

T3’s ‘double headers’ simply means two sets at msg. primary rumor still has the boys playing a 4 pack at msg

Cmon, dont you already have lodging & transportation locked down? 😉

  17. Dorn76 Says:

Convenient Fri-Mon timing for New Year’s run.

Done with this Radiohead-lite Traveler stuff for now. Time to fill my Monday soul with this Bonus Disc from GD Live at the Cow Palace.

    Playin>Supplication>Playin from 9/24/76.

Last week’s soul hole filling discussion got me thinking about my friend’s coon hound.

Apparently this dog’s soul hole is insatiable for all variations of shit, roadkill, sewerage & vomit. Don’t know if these delicacies induce wonderous visions of doggie paradise, but I’d like to think so.

Morning friends…..two days off after a long work week.

As I am on a rotating shift, my schedule currently runs through December 29th. No word yet on the 30th and 31st…. Too new at the position to request those days off, but will do so anyways.

Going to give Traveler a spin now…..

  21. Dorn76 Says:

    Transportation: Metro-North

    Lodging: Casa du Dorn

No mountains, not a helluva lot of snow….Has to be some good reason to live in CT in the Winter.

  22. Phamily Berzerker Says:

    You know it, Kaya.

I pushed a button calling your perspective myopic while mine was just the same.

Anyone’s reaction to me, is just that. Their reaction. I take nothing it, but the opportunity to learn.

Lastly, and way out of character, Holy Shit My AZ Cardinals are a dramatic team to watch. It’s like interval training without leaving the couch!

  23. sumodie Says:

T3, you revealed all your secrets once you professed your mad love for that luscious harpy otherwIse known as the IT Waves

  24. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

I bared my soul, man. 😉

so no one’s going to comment on the fact that beiber was so blown away by CK5’s tour opening lights that he puked on stage? 😮

  25. Robear Says:

BNcB just dropped a huge nugget of info. And you cats are stuck on soul holes.

    Soul with a hole,
    Black as the coal
    I’d rather be high
    Than under their toe
