TTFW: Midweek Melange

8.5.10 – The Greek Theatre (Wendy Rogell)

Zero -> 2001 -> Cities¬†-> Yamar” 11.26.97 II, Hartford, CT

One of the consistently underrated sequences of Fall ’97, in which Trey brings the spirit of Jimi to life.

Mike’s Song” 12.30.93 II, Portland, ME

A classic rendition from Cumberland County.

Simple” 8.6.10 II, Berkeley, CA

The innovative and astral jam from The Greek.

Stash” 12.31.03 II, Miami, FL

My favorite jam from 2003’s Holiday Run.

Rock and Roll” 6.7.11 II, Mansfield, MA

A stellar excursion from an otherwise underwhelming show.

Disease > Lizards” 12.12.95 II, Providence, RI

A gargantuan “Disease” from the magic month of December ’95.

Sand” 12.13.99 II, Providence, RI

One of the upper echelon “Sands” of¬†December ’99.

Piper” 7.18.99 III, Volney, NY

The Osewgo “Piper.”

Run Like An Antelope” 8.12.96 I, Noblesville, IN

A burly, mid-second set version from the cornfields.

  2. cookinit Says:

12/13/99 was my very first show! Took 65 shows (dick’s ’12) to see a sand better than this one

  3. BingosBrother Says:

    This is an Antelope.

  4. pk Says:

It’s the ripchord nature of the 11.26.97 sequence that will keep it rated where it should be, under several better, more fleshed out sequences of more years than just 97. Props for a Zero opener, though.

  5. MiA Says:

I haven’t heard this Disease. Looking forward to it.

    Have a great day everyone!

    It’s Safari on the iPhone.

I think you could click it 30x if you had Galaga speed tapping skills.

I played a lot of Galaga at the bowling alleyas a yout waiting for the man.

  14. SillyWilly Says:

  15. Phamily Berzerker Says:

Today is my Thursday. F yeah!

  16. Aquaman Says:

    Morning all!

It’s been a while for me. I have been knee deep in work and BTB’s amazing jams of summer mix, so this Bieber talk has for the most part slipped past me. In catching up this morning I have been laughing out loud. Not only for the killer teases being reported, but also for the fact that I have a six year old daughter who won an iPod touch in a raffle back in August. What was her first set of music to get loaded? Justin Bieber.

I now know most of the words to both “One Less Lonely Girl” and “Love Me”. Which was a great song when originally recorded by the Cardigans, but it’s clearly a complete rip off.

Omg what is wrong with me? Did I just offer musical critique of Bieber music.

Clearly I am no feeling well.

    Cheers, all!

mmhmm- When I’m first I like to just let people know it. IMHO A simple “First.Fact.”always works good.

  18. BingosBrother Says:

Bigjig ain’t never been first. Fact.

  19. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

there was a documentary about you on tlc last night

  20. ren Says:

My Thursday too @Pham!…sharing in the stoke.

My sister gets married this weekend. Last wedding I was at was my own so I’m looking forward to having some fun without the pressure.

  21. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

overall it may have been an underwhelming show, 6.7.11 is notable to me for this RnR (“new music” i.e. precursor storage jamming), the frenetic divided trey solo in divided, and Rhymes. while the person who wrote the song history on may not agree, I think that song has promise. smuff knows.

  22. viola Says:

excellent tunes miner. miami 03 stash is the goods. very patient throughout and the build up to the peak which hits around 18 minutes is textbook jamming. really enjoy this stash as well. please get ks to release the holiday run of 1993. that run is off the chain. 12/30 and 12/31 are two of their finest…. and it boasts 3 peaches, 3 hyhu, couple possums a few fees, aquarium stage, and teases throughout. i love nye 93. the mikes is a worthy highlight.

  23. ren Says:

    This antelope is TITS!

  24. Phlorida Phan Says:

was rocking this 11-26-97 a little yesterday, check the opening tweez in the first set, $$ version

  25. mudbuddy11 Says:

nice. thanks miner for keeping the jams comin. its been a nice week so far, except the nightmare i had about bieber fans invading our scene. or what if…. we invaded theirs…
