Looks like the NYC subway is going to flood after all, which is just such a shit storm of repairs. This seems like it is shaping up to be the “big one”. Be safe!

I am only in Japan from May through late August each year. I live in Plattsburgh, NY the rest of the year. I teach at the local college there and study in Montreal.

  3. angryjoggerz Says:

Awesome, very tri-national lifestyle you got going there. Jealous.

I’m super itching for some real travel, but wife and I expecting baby any day now, so will be a while (well, a month and then to China, but that doesnt really count anymore). I long for a European vacation. Montreal sounds like it would do, though. Never been.

Hope you and your family are well.

    **HURRICANE TIP**

Check your windows where the wind is blowing from, those tend to leak a little.

  11. sumodie Says:

Very quiet here in western ma

if the power holds, we’re gonna fire up The Wire season 2

It’s confirmed, on replay i much prefer Dick’s Light over Bill’s (the bgca peak isn’t captured all that well on the sbd)

and the summer’s Tweezers continue to get mad spins on the pod

  12. phoammhead Says:

ah, nice . . . whoa indeed the dreadful wind and rain

  14. Mr. Palmer Says:

Yeah, parts of NYC are underwater. Cars floating down street.

We have little to no rain. The wind is real intense. Trees snapping like toothpicks.

  15. halcyon Says:

    What up folks….

Conditions deteriorating rapidly in RI, MA, CT, and NY. Not too bad at my place though it is supposed to get ugly tonight. Tomorrow is going to be a shit show at work picking up the pieces.

Trees are falling faster than crews can clear the roads.

Next few days at work are going to be super busy duct taping the system back together.

  20. phlorida phan Says:

Back in ’06, we had 3 hurricanes in 6 weeks here in Tampa. All were over the weekends, hang in there guys, also i would stay awake if possible, just in case shit gets bad!

    **HURRICANE TIP #2**

Being a former garage door repair guy, your garage door is the weak link to your house. Down here building code is at least a 125mph rated door. Simple thing is to back your car up against the door so it won’t blow in. Just something to keep an eye on

  23. plord Says:

Looks top be getting grim out there in NYC. Be safe people. Still nothing up here but a light wind.

  24. phlorida phan Says:

^ pic #10 there is laughable, those protective berms will wash away with storm surge plus waves pounding into it.

  25. RoosterPizza Says:

Just polished off a growler of pilsner. Man, that was a nice fucking brew. I got a bunch of work done while listening to 8/19/12, and now I am hitting 8/31/12.

I’ll be all set as long as these rains don’t flood my apartment. Only time shall tell.
