TTFF: 50 and a Short Poll

12-28-12 (Graham Lucas)

Here are ten more jams/sequences—unranked—that take the next ten slots in 2012’s Top 50. Below, I threw in a random reader’s poll. Take a few seconds to weigh in on some Phishy questions.

Tweezer” 8/26 II, Charlotte, NC

This jam could be ranked higher.

Back On the Train -> Hold Your Head Up” 6/28 II, Noblesville, IN

A rare move outside the lines of “BOTT” brought the show to outer space.

Disease > Sand -> Twist” 6/29 II, Noblesville, IN

This sequence felt like the start of a huge set.

Stash” 8/22 I, Kansas City, MO

A first set scorcher, one of the dark horse chunks of leg two.

Golden Age -> 2001” 6/30 II, East Troy, WI

A hearty dose of whole-band funk at Alpine.

Crosseyed > Slave” 6/16 II, Atlantic City, NJ

Solid Phish through and through.

Twist > Piper > Billy Breathes” 6/15 II, Atlantic City, NJ

A quality, mid-set chunk of 6/15’s second set.

Run Like an Antelope” 7/3 II, Wantagh, NY

A full-throttle run through the set closer.

Drowned > 2001 > Reba” 6/17 II, Atlantic City, NJ

Another high-quality start of a set.

Tweezer” 6/10 I, Manchester, TN

The Bonnaroo “Tweezer.” The best of Leg One.

    Wow, if that’s true @palmer.

  2. ren Says:

@PH- if the festi happens and its close timewise to Dicks that changes the equation a bit.

All good problems to have though

  3. Jtran Says:

    lol @ syracuse

  4. Guyute711 Says:

Mr P, that doucher is a 19 year old punk who is not a journalist. The Syracuse news basketball site has a blip about the tweet which was retweeted by another jackass student from the Cuse. No idea about infractions which could be possible but I am not putting much credence in this. If the university does make Boeheim retire for any reason then I will officially be done watching all sports.

  5. garretc Says:

Hmm, this Economist article on drug legalization mentions a guy who writes pot reviews in a Colorado newspaper whose pseudonym is “William Breathes”…

    Phan, perhaps?

  6. marcoesq Says:

Isn’t Boeheim mad at the school anyways about how the sex scandal was handled? I could have that backwards but I thought something was up with him

  7. butter Says:

yes Ren, Bethel ::::kinda shit i like

    SPAC:::::kinda shit i don’t like

it will pretty much take a Bethel or something rad to get me to the east coast at beginning of tour

i have all systems cleared for take off, if there’s an east coast festi….dust of those rusty camp stoves just one more time

will try to do all west coast….. we love the odd years in 3.0 = Gorge

Dicks has done been circled, even tho, the only way i see them being able to top last years Dicks is to stage the festi a few weeks before and be in a rehearsed wide open mode

patience young jedi’s, these guys know what there doing

  8. Kaveh Says:

I’m in for the BB Pool.

  9. ren Says:

Thanks for the stokage Butter!!!…and yes….they know what they are doing and next week SO WILL WE!!!!

  10. gavinsdad Says:

Pliny the Younger = tasty beer!

  11. [an unrelated] Wilson Says:

Closing in on Mystery Tour Date Thread 3K.

  12. Dorn76 Says:

Think I’ll hit the beer store.

    Thirsty Thurs!

  13. guitarpicker420! Says:

I setup a Fantasy Baseball League for Blackboard again. Details on pg 116.

  14. marcoesq Says:

Miner, anyway you can start a new page so I don’t have to scroll through this whole survey each morning? I would vote again but it won’t let me do it more than once.

  15. Mr. Palmer Says:

You will scroll and like it buddy!

  16. BingosBrother Says:

    I voted 120 times.

  17. BNCB Says:

The members of the board have truly outdone themselves with the following recs:

    Kendrick Lamar
    Freddie McKay

  18. Mr. Palmer Says:

    too jammy

  19. guitarpicker420! Says:

Thinking of pulling the trigger on hotel for Chicago. I can cash in some free vouchers, but the closest I can get for free is Midway. The orange line will get me to and from the shows, so no driving. Probably not a bad deal. If I can’t get tix, I’m out nothing.

  20. guitarpicker420! Says:

Check out Wild Tchoupitoulas for something different

  21. marcoesq Says:

I would keep voting for 12/30/12 over 1/1/11 but it won’t let me.

And people really seemed to have forgotten about the ’09 Holiday run and how amazing it was. Can’t believe they’re so far down on the list.

  22. marcoesq Says:

Out of that list, I only have Kendrick Lamar

  23. roberto luongo Says:

  24. roberto luongo Says:

some of the sickest shit i’ve heard in a while. something bout that pissed off riffin afro/beat metal/punk stylee is just $$$$

  25. roberto luongo Says:

    also kids

Tame Impala much more impressive live. the pretty pop tunes get a nicer guitar tonal heavy washy sound live.

drummer is a beast and keeps the Can style grooves goin all night

live more MBV/Can style influences than I expected. very psychedelic.

def one of the better young bands I”ve caught. great stuff.
