Funky Bitch > Jam > Yerushalayim Shel Zahav” 11.22.94, Columbia, MO

An under-the-radar sequence of Fall 1994, this one spans the full spectrum of ’94 Phish. You can almost feel the energy in the room when the band reaches near silence at a few points during the “Jam.”

Light” 10.19.10 II, Augusta, ME

Fall 2010 was full of stellar versions of “Light.” The highlight of a solid second set, this one gets my vote for tops of Fall 2010.

Antelope -> 2001” 8.11.04 II, Mansfield, MA

This unfinished “Antelope” melts into an infectious “2001” and is one of the few highlights from the last run of 2004 that still has replay value today.

Seven Below > Ghost”  11.28.09 II, Albany, NY

The jam many consider to be the unofficial re-birth of 3.0—over 50 minutes of pure Phish.

Halley’s Comet” 12.7.99 II, Portland, ME

Pure December 1999 Phish. Too bad they don’t make “Halley’s” today like they used to.

Rock and Roll” 6.7.11 II, Mansfield, MA

One of the only highlights of yet another underwhelming Great Woods visit, this “Rock and Roll” contains a full-band effort at some truly heartfelt music.

Simple” 11.18.96 II, Memphis, TN

Speaking of heartfelt music, this “Simple” jam initially finds some tranquil space before Trey leads the troops into an emotional peak.

Bathtub Gin 8.13.93 II, Indianapolis, IN

The Murat “Gin” doesn’t need too much of an introduction…this is August ’93 at its absolute finest.

Tweezer” 11.23.94 II, St Louis, MO

While 1994 had its share of monster “Tweezers,” this one may be the most blissful of them all.

Twist” 6.20.04 II, Saratoga Springs, NY

On a weekend full of top tier 2004 Phish, this “Twist” contains patience, communication, and whole-band offerings we can all enjoy.

Typos galore in that last post, but I think they add and not detract, too much, from the point I was trying to make.

  2. MiA Says:

    great typo

@bobbyw – im surprised it doesn’t give you more trouble dancing, but thats great it doesn’t. in the OR we have the advantage that we have to keep it cool for 5 min then the pt goes to sleep and everyone is like HOLY FUCK look at that

  4. BingosBrother Says:

Lol irie. Better bag up. Kinda felt bad about kickin that fucker til now. I need my nuts.

  5. xpun Says:

interesting stats on lotto hits and misses

obv a small sample size and i’ve got to think some people just fucked up their requests (like the 4 who didn’t get Toronto), but only about 20% scored for BGCA and a little under 30% for chicago

  6. littleumbrellas Says:

In the frostbite night with her flaps gone white.

  7. BingosBrother Says:

30%? None for me, mom, bro, or dad. We suck at tucking. Rahm wants tourists, not natives.

  8. bobby weird Says:

@ xpun, yeah, my xray techs didn’t get that memo…

trust me, i do live with constant pain (esp when the barometric pressure is low), but for various reasons i usu don’t feel much during a phish show, but do pay for it later. the worst part has actually been lower back pain, on the rt (affected) side, due to pelvis misalignment caused by walking with one leg with regular flexion/extension and one severely limited. when facing forward my torso faces 2:30… chiropractor has been v effective however.

  9. kayatosh Says:

“One friend didn’t bag up and lost a nut”

^^^ I see this fast becoming a BB slogan

  10. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    could be an interesting read

  11. kayatosh Says:

    or maybe this variation:

“You best bag up, lest you lose a nut.”

  12. BingosBrother Says:

No diggity, u got to bag it up.

  13. MiA Says:

Glad that didn’t go unnoticed LU.

‘Cause she just might box your dog … she just might box your doggie …

  14. tela'smuff Says:

that first set of 4/2/98 is kind of a mess, but a very very good one. @leo – super powered CDT huh? off the rails.

  15. plord Says:

Had a great aunt with geese, aggro fuckers, she would straight up knock them out. POW, side of the head.

  16. Leo Weaver Says:

    More likely on some rails…

    Def some slop in there.

  17. Mr. Palmer Says:

4/2/98 is all about the Tube, Stash, and Twist IMO….oh that Twist…

Video to go along with it..

  18. Leo Weaver Says:

4/2/98 is all about the Tube, Stash, and Twist IMO….oh that Twist…

  19. sumodie Says:

As in surgically removed a nut that was bitten by the goose?

    I hurt just typing that

Dog walkin in chilly western MA, spinning Spiritualized…huh?

  20. BingosBrother Says:

Twist above is all that too. Better bag up before getting up in that one.

  21. tela'smuff Says:

one of the best Phish videos out there.

love that Stash. mos def on the rail front. off or on.

  22. Mr. Palmer Says:

btw- the above 4-2-98 video is new, remastered for the 15th anniversary..

  23. MiA Says:

That Reba is a train wreck. The Twist is my top 5 jams. Love it.

  24. Mr. Palmer Says:

After 4-2 and 4-3-98 my Phish concert experience was never the same. Those two shows changed everything for me. Took most of ’97 off and then was so blown away after those first two. Get chills just thinking about the GA floor those nights.

Please Phish, play Nassau this Fall…one last time, for old times sake?

  25. snow Says:

very interesting ticket scalping debate. I love moral questions like this.

The initial crime is that TM/LiveNation have control of the venues and they create the problem from there. There are so many ways they could solve the problem. Anything we do as fans is a secondary offense.

Fans could create their own solution through collective action. Basically campaign other fans to not pay more than face. People obviously do that but not on the scale necessary for it to have the intended effect.

Anything RL says on the topic is pure bullshit… according to RL.
