Funky Bitch > Jam > Yerushalayim Shel Zahav” 11.22.94, Columbia, MO

An under-the-radar sequence of Fall 1994, this one spans the full spectrum of ’94 Phish. You can almost feel the energy in the room when the band reaches near silence at a few points during the “Jam.”

Light” 10.19.10 II, Augusta, ME

Fall 2010 was full of stellar versions of “Light.” The highlight of a solid second set, this one gets my vote for tops of Fall 2010.

Antelope -> 2001” 8.11.04 II, Mansfield, MA

This unfinished “Antelope” melts into an infectious “2001” and is one of the few highlights from the last run of 2004 that still has replay value today.

Halley’s Comet” 12.7.99 II, Portland, ME

Simple” 11.18.96 II, Memphis, TN

Speaking of heartfelt music, this “Simple” jam initially finds some tranquil space before Trey leads the troops into an emotional peak.

  1. Mr. Palmer Says:

Reba is 4/3 i think, no? The Mikes>OHP>Week is top shelf from the 3rd also.. but we can dissect that beast tomorrow.

  2. MiA Says:

Great video Mr. P. Hadn’t seen that. Thanks.

  3. snow Says:

    geese already scared me.
Now I may need to wear a cup to the park.

  4. IrieWalton Says:

Not to get too gory, but yes, goose chomped down hard (he was only wearing umbro-like shorts, so no denim/khaki protection). Nut was a goner and needed to be surgically removed.

Interestingly enough he wasn’t the first guy who I went to school with that lost a nut. The other kid (this one was back in 4th grade) tried to hop over a picket fence. And we’ll leave it at that…

In other news, took the board’s advice and revisited 4/3/98 today. Hello, Roses’ jam! Love it.

  5. kayatosh Says:

    bag up, snow.

  6. kayatosh Says:

7 min mark – purple lights. thanks for the vid, palmer.

  7. ren Says:

I’m with Mr.P on 4/2-4/3…..I went in to those show experiences and came out a changed man…FOR SURE. Coming out the other end of that TWIST…its hard to deny the power and energy that this band can harness. Brought a new level of depth to my understanding of them.

Will be forever grateful for another chance to get back in there 15 years later….have the “present” me relish in the accomplishments that the “past” me wasn’t even capable of fathoming them. I think the initial summer rumors we heard in combination with the impending demise of the structre bode well for a re-visit in fall

  8. snow Says:

    so hampton for t-giving?

Kinda of weird to have a 30th Anniversary party at such a small venue. I supposed they can always ‘cast it.

  9. sumodie Says:

Snow should be BB banned till he sees Apocalypse Now ;0>

  10. snow Says:

speaking of webcasts. I want to watch the webcast of the BGCA shows cause I have never watch a webcast of a show that I was at. Well, at least watch part of it.

  11. tela'smuff Says:

oh nice. new video. loved the older Twist Jam vid. this looks even better. thx Palmer.

  12. sumodie Says:

Not necessary to see Apocalypse Now Redux tho, first timers should stick with the original

I would hate for the turkey run to be in Hampton. Or rather, my family would hate me

  13. snow Says:

I’ve watched apocolypse now. I need to rewatch. The problem is that I have never sat down and watched the whole thing.

Apocolyse now is the one where the guy goes up the river in the boat to find the military dude (played by Brando) that has gone AWOL and kill him.

I too love the smell of napalm in the morning.

  14. ren Says:

Fuck….we should be heading to Nassau tonight. Epic would not begin to describe it. Guess some things may be better left alone though.

  15. snow Says:

I like to listen to Ride of the Valkyrie before I go snowboarding.

  16. BingosBrother Says:

Hampton? I wanna dip my balls in it.

Looking forward to more universe perfecting moments this year.

  17. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

    I only watch Redux.

  18. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

i don’t think thanksgiving/hampton is the 30th anni run. that happens in decemeber. i’ll be at hampton 100% though.

  19. roberto luongo Says:

98-2004 was the best not be tellin peeps in my crew you still went to phish years unless you were goin to print $$$$

such a jaded group of fucks.

12/31/95 will always be the last show for me. after that. jaded strung out asshat.

but ya had no idea those shows were goin on in 98 or what phish was up to. I caught Vegas, UIC, Cinci, and Madison that year. great shows too. was just over the phish I guess at that time.

weird cuz 3.0 is the most fun I’ve had at phish hands down since 12.31.95 and the music isn’t that great even.

    all about that personal headspace.

  20. roberto luongo Says:

98-2004 were the drunk on whiskey by noon and get in fight on lot tours

    fun stuff

  21. snow Says:

I should prolly be banned anyway.

  22. roberto luongo Says:

basically I need some therapy and a time machine so I too can go appreciate the island tour live

  23. IrieWalton Says:

If the 30th anny run is in Hampton over Thanksgiving that is going to exclude nearly anyone who needs to get there via plane from going except those with $$$$.

Basically, if it cost the mrs. and me almost $800/each, last Thanksgiving, to fly to the in-laws in Cleveland from Oregon, I can only imagine what the cost of flying into Newport News or Richmond would be.

I get the sentimental attitude of having it there in Hampton (loved my time there in the 90s, where I learned many a life lesson as a teen).

But I think the 30th anny should happen in a more all inclusive space. Because if it doesn’t you can just take the angst that folks have currently with trying to score BGCA tix and multiply that by, at least, 10.

    But that’s just my .02…

  24. ren Says:

I really like when CK5 takes his lighting compositions in a more “a-symmetrical” direction…so much more visually engaging. Feel like he’s been very symmetrical lately

  25. Mr. Palmer Says:

I can see a run in Albany ..Maybe a 4 show run with two cities..

    Hampton/Albany
