Funky Bitch > Jam > Yerushalayim Shel Zahav” 11.22.94, Columbia, MO

An under-the-radar sequence of Fall 1994, this one spans the full spectrum of ’94 Phish. You can almost feel the energy in the room when the band reaches near silence at a few points during the “Jam.”

Light” 10.19.10 II, Augusta, ME

Fall 2010 was full of stellar versions of “Light.” The highlight of a solid second set, this one gets my vote for tops of Fall 2010.

This unfinished “Antelope” melts into an infectious “2001” and is one of the few highlights from the last run of 2004 that still has replay value today.

@mmmhmm – the poll results were stupid in that the highest response was on top, it took me a minute to catch that, so for all the “easier” shows yes was above no, but for chicago, tahoe and bgca no was above yes. so those were in fact the tough ones.

@janx – massanutten is right outside my bedroom window. calhouns is no longer there, been replaced by a another joint called capitol ale house. food sucks but has ~50 beers on tap and some of them are actually good. but still just a little place w nothing to do. charlottesville gets a lot more shows these days thanks to capshaw

i don’t remember shit about 4-2-98. i remember the tube opener, my mind’s and then a blank. that sucks.

remember 4-3 crystal clear. the tigger backpack’d stage jumper nearly bowled me over on his way to the front. totally surreal. he hit into me from behind, and pushed past. we were 30-40 feet from stage and he was on a mission just pushing his way through the crowd until i lost sight of him. im thinking what a fucking douche when all of a sudden dude is up on stage. i love listening to the tapes of that one you can hear the crowd erupt and the loving cup def goes up a notch. and the “carinis gonna getcha” phishiness at its finest.

  5. xpun Says:

@voopa – what did the office say about the cath during your follow up

welcome to the american league astros. Saw yesterday that their payroll combined is less than what Arod is making this year. A terrible either way you look at it.

xpun- The surgeon was his typical not-terribly-communicative self, but he did tell me that I was lucky that modern catheters have collapsible balloons. At the time I didn’t really feel any side effects from the removal, but I was still regularly throwing down Hydrocodone and ganja food, so I told him I felt OK which was good enough for him.

I have numbness in my inner left thigh after standing or walking for more than 10 min., not sure if that’s related or from the procedure, and the ultra-sensitive left teste as mentioned earlier, which I’m pretty sure was a result of the removal. I think it’s getting better, another day or two should tell me for sure, now that I’m almost off the pain meds entirely.

I suggested that the surgeon pass along my concerns about their lack of catheter removal instructions, but he didn’t seem terribly interested. I expect the typical post-discharge questionnaire in the mail any day now, and they will hear from me via that for sure if nothing else.

  8. xpun Says:

what did you have done again, if you dont mind me asking

im not sure what the numbness would be related to, if it was nerve damage it would be constant and vascular would seem to be more at rest i’d think

a def be very bitchy in your survey. hospitals love that shit.

fwiw – on the bright side a good rule of thumb is the bigger of a dick the surgeon is in person the better they operate. about 90% of the time. then you have the 10% that are dicks and i wouldn’t let cut on my steak let alone someone i knew.

@xpun…if I remember correctly in my days of traveling the 81 corridor the beers at Calhouns (Cally’s right???) weren’t superb, or even good for that matter. Didn’t realize Cap Ale from RIC moved in. I liked eating breakfast at Little Grill. Clementine had good beers, ok food, and some good music at times.

So far Dicks is my only fly phishing. Im so torn on the Gorge. I love going there but it is an expensive ordeal.

Where does everyone stay for Dicks? I’ve done embassy suites the past 2 years. Wish something was realistic walking distance. I have done the walk to and from embassy and dicks a number of times though.

Go to Colorado…get in shape! Never miss Dicks.

  12. mmmhmm Says:

Nice Rooster. Picked up that vinyl in SEA last trip to the Gorge. Sounds so good with the crackles and pops.

  13. voopa Says:

Sigmoid colectomy. At least that’s what I’ve been calling it. They removed about 7 in.. from the sigmoid colon. If I build a bit of pressure before peeing (like if I wake up having to go) I’ll have numbness immediately after, but only for a few seconds, in addition to what I described above. Didn’t really notice until after meeting w/ the surgeon on Thursday (catheter came out Monday); I’ll drop him a note if it keeps up.

  14. voopa Says:

Oh, and I have the utmost confidence in my surgeon. But you never know, yesterday I found a staple that he missed when he pulled them from the suture area. And today the stoma doctor found three more (to be fair, those were under the pouch).

  15. xpun Says:

@mmhmm – we hung out at the grill alot back then. had friends working there and so i could drink underage there. always a plus. spent many a day/night there with all the crazy people that would hang around

this is crazy that there are now three other people on this board connected to this little shit of a town.

  16. xpun Says:

not sure about the numbness, id def bring up with him. it sounds like its probably gravity putting pressure on a vessel, if it happen when you’re upright. a full bladder bladder could put pressure too, but if its a quick numbness that doesn’t last then i’m lost because that sounds like nerves. so disregard all my medical theories

  17. JanxSpirit Says:

    Wow the little grill…memories…

  18. RoosterPizza Says:

mmmhmm, I bet that sounds the best on vinyl.

Sub five hundred from Bos to SEA and probably even DEN isn’t even paying costs. Of course grab best deal, but perspective FYI.

Second modest request for a post of the Song/Date list for TIII’s alpha oobs playlist.

Pig, not sure I understand. You think the flights sound cheap, expensive, or?

Unfortunately I can’t seem to work an angle where I get one BOS – SEA flight free using air miles, feeling stymied for tonight, argh

  24. sumodie Says:

Voopa, very sorry to hear about your health challenges. I do hope a solid recovery is fast on the way

Remember that in this day & age patients (or someone on their behalf) have to speak up & advocate for themselves. Don’t assume that your health care providers (even great ones) know everything -it’s your body not theirs

I’m not trying to imply that anything is necessarily wrong based on what you’ve said. Just make sure to follow up on questionable sensations/issues/concerns sooner rather than later.

If you’re experiencing something that wasn’t clearly mentioned by your doctor as being ‘a normal part of the healing process’ then call the office tomorrow and nicely demand some phone time or even an office visit in order to get some answers and/or assistance

I’m merely offering a few words of encouragement to feel empowered and to be proactive about your health situation, not trying to raise any alarms

Massive facemeltage awaits you at phish this summer!

  25. voopa Says:

    Thanks sumo!
