Fall 2013 (Andrea Nusinov)

Here are the ten finalists of the December ’95 haiku contest. I put the names into a hat and drew three winners, who are highlighted in blue. Winners, send me your mailing address and I’ll get these out in time for the holiday. Thanks to all twenty-five people who entered a haiku! (I wanted to publish em all but thought it might be overkill!) Happy Holidays!

Lots of 3.0 noobs with more time than sense.

  2. Mr. Palmer Says:

Is it summer 2014 yet? Think I’m going to bring my 9 year old if the stars align and they play a place like PNC… we shall see. Bethel dream still lives on. Likely another 3 day SPAC attack… Same house again, boys? 😉

  3. Mr. Palmer Says:

JG- that is Christy’s thing. Surrender to the Flow? I think it’s called.

  4. vapebraham Says:

Bobby D: I’ve been going with the derek davis (phishy 12) pulls from lovin them. I don’t feel compelled to grab LP. I linked 12.31 earlier.

“My favorite part of NYE gag? Knowing that AG and the rail riders were in the back of the floor.”

    “phish plays love”

    very nice boys.
had an epic NYE myself. excited to read Miner’s reviews.

@Mr. Miner. full respect sent, used to hearing your words as a way of coming closer to all the Phish i don’t catch live, but i get it, no hate here, sendin love.

  6. Jerome Garcia Says:

Just getting into this DWD…luvin the effects…alien abstraction ftw.

First review on the .net about the 12/29 show includes the classic following line:
“If I had been raptured at that moment, I would have told Jesus to wait.”
“When Trey picked up his guitar, I knew immediately this night wouldn’t be about lollipops or unicorns. There was an insidious stare in his eyes as if he would find your childhood pet, dig it up, and eat that son of a bitch for breakfast. ”

Maybe this is just the newb mudbuddy is looking for.
    Text message him.

  8. mudbuddy11 Says:

where is that review at? that sounds like what I’m looking for.

  9. neemor Says:

“Verdict? I would see them if they were within a 20 minute drive of home.”
    ^ my take, too.

“Lots of 3.0 noobs with more time than sense.”
And they were mostly surrounding me in the Garden, apparently. I kid.

STTF is fun to follow on FB. She is superinformative and provides the hippest links.

Oooooh…..that Gin is catching a groove! Nice.

  10. neemor Says:
    Check it out.
    New site, I think. 😉

  11. butter Says:

Yes Stoney it was an 80’s set, but with Col. forbins > Mock, Lizards, and Icculus in the same set, that’s a Gamehendge set to me, and as close as we’ll ever come

Also AC/DC and Wilson in the first

Trey is a shy story teller these day.

We’re all church of holy old school ville

    Glide was a helluva statement

If I had to pick the deepest moment of truck set, I’d have to say Lizards, with Mocking Bird a close 2nd. Mike and Trey standing right in front of each other collaborating and working it out was just a huge catalyst for that set.

  12. neemor Says:

That Disease (as has been said before by someone other than me) is a masterpiece.

  13. neemor Says:

    That reminds me butter:
Watching the webcast of Trey’s fingerwork up close on Glide makes me understand why it’s so hit or miss.
    The mind of a Jedi.

This Gin is an absolute winner.
    Natural peaks for the win.
    Like home made whipped cream.

  14. little umbrellas Says:

    glide shoreline 00 flashbacks

  15. neemor Says:

    Wait a sec….
    Is Trey Icculus?

  16. bob dylan Says:

there are plenty of people with more time than sense who love to hear themselves speak. i can rattle off a handful of folks on this board.

the difference is, miner puts it all in context. dude knows his phishtory as well as his history. thats what makes his articles a lot more fun for me to read personally.

i wouldn’t read a 3.0 n00bs takes on stuff unless he’s got a degree from the harry hood school of phish.

  17. Mr. Palmer Says:

oh.. for me, the clear highlight of the truck set was the masterful, beautiful Reba played to perfection on the old Marley ‘Doc….

I fully admit, as a 40 year old watching via webcast, I had a tear well up in my eye.

  18. neemor Says:

    Reba was brilliant.

  19. Jerome Garcia Says:

Thanks Palmer. Surrender To The Flow it is. Issue 40 for MSG but not linked yet; gotta paypal $3 to obtain per Facepage. Linkage:

Issue 39 Fall Tour & 15th Anny issue

  20. marcoesq Says:

Ya that Reba was special. And no crowd surge to ruin it this year

  21. neemor Says:

“there are plenty of people with more time than sense who love to hear themselves speak. i can rattle off a handful of folks on this board.”

    :::Raises hand:::

  22. Jerome Garcia Says:

Oh thank you Jebus. Lookin fwd to giving Reba the behind the middle school treatment.

  23. butter Says:

Yea Palmer, Phish doesn’t always pull the hear strings, but 12.31 II & III was majorly about such heart tugging . The 30th year video montage played before SOL encore had many many many wet eyes in the room. And then even the haters of Show of Life were mostly left jaw on floor

    And yes that Reba

  24. butter Says:

Set 2 celebrating our storied past

    Set 3 the future
