Fall 2013 (Andrea Nusinov)

Fall 2013 (Andrea Nusinov)

Here are the ten finalists of the December ’95 haiku contest. I put the names into a hat and drew three winners, who are highlighted in blue. Winners, send me your mailing address and I’ll get these out in time for the holiday. Thanks to all twenty-five people who entered a haiku! (I wanted to publish em all but thought it might be overkill!) Happy Holidays!

good thoughts above @butter. exactly where i’m at. the Reba was special. i loved the Mockingbird even more. watching them play that so well, with that setup, perfection. tear for sure during montage. i was spinning in circles during Light. Halcyon probably things i’m nuts. what a show.

Hint of Meters tease in the Carini jam by Page around the 13:41 mark. Nice!

Still speechless from MSG run. What an amazing culmination to a fabulous year of Phish. Had so much fun despite a bevy of cig smokers and talkers and horrible hallway blockages/renovations in MSG and noticeably tightened security and cops this year. Skybridge was a badass perspective with plenty of dance space. Was beaming from ear to ear with joy for the state of Phish each night. 12/29 II. Wowzers. Truck Your Face set. Humble and classy. Each player slayed with great tones and vigor.

Perfect cap to the anni year. Not like Phish to self-glorify with over-celebration of their own musical accomplishments.

Just restating much of what has already been thrown out. That MSG run is how to end a great year of Phish music. Boom! Happy New Year to the BB!

Missed the Miner reviews, but, hell, I wouldn’t want to write a page per day during the run either. Much respect to Dave.

^Degree from the Harry Hood School of Phish is a very intensive multi-era curriculum that many don’t finish due to it’s rigor. Apparently some folks aren’t getting the message. Hell, most can’t even get into the program. Read the fucking book!

12.31 Fuego>Light –$$$. made all the more incredible knowing these tunes were performed with a sea of balloons and confetti raining down on the band and the garden.

spinning DwD>carini now. Disease is relentlessly great.

    Per Trey during Icculus

“A lot of u aren’t fucking getting it, and were here tonite, in MSG, to make sure u fucking get it”

    Nuff said

  9. marcoesq Says:

Haven’t really mentioned it but that YEM also seemed super super slick from my couch. Haven’t relistened yet but remember it being pretty amazing sounding

  10. BingosBrother Says:

I’d go see AG and the Rail Riders, but they prolly wouldn’t let me in.

  11. P.S.H.S Says:

has anyone else noticed Hodor in a flyers jersey front/second row this fall/Nye? saw him in Woosta, and tits McGee was right in front of him. is he an official spot holder for mrs. McGee?

  12. Stoney Case Says:

Butter! Stop it. Was not a GH set. And close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. 😛

“I’d go see AG and the Rail Riders, but they prolly wouldn’t let me in.”
    pft

The cat with the tri-color ball cap was riding rail all fall.
From my vantage point and age, plenty of respect if you can do it.

Then again, even the local bands I used to go see every time out back in the day, sometimes I used to want to be up front, other times, it’s nice to get some perspective and maybe let someone else have my rail spot.

    Ego.

    It’s all good though.

  14. chris Says:

Yeah I tHought the Yem jam was great too. Remember some raging blues funk I’m the jam

  15. George W. Kush Says:

@Stoney, came to say hello at WW table on 12/31 but they told me you were at the “other one” i guess on the other side of the 100s. Music started and couldn’t make it. Next time perhaps.

Gonna start posting reviews on Monday #fyi

  18. tela's_muff Says:

Light is my fav jam of run, but Carini is a close second. Page is brilliant throughout.

  19. Mr. Palmer Says:

Chalkdust from 30th… pretty slick jam if you ask me. Loved it live and on playback here.

  20. Mr. Palmer Says:

Haven’t heard the Light yet… need to get on that now..

  21. Jerome Garcia Says:

Dig the Bowie intro. Reading back super stoked to listen to 12/31.

Where do the 4 nights rank ie 1-4. Rank my Arty pls & thx.

  22. Shred Says:

Glad you guys are posting. Shred needs to eat a shit sandwich. They totally ripped NYE apart. Amazing set 2. Love it so much I can’t even put it to words.

So I was wrong and wish I went on NYE. Even tho the wife would never let me! Truth be told…
Love the whole tour. They really are back now.

  23. BingosBrother Says:

I prefer the animals caged up front. More room in back for me.

  24. sumodie Says:

Technically the truck had no front, rail riders could ride trey’s ass instead of his crotch

  25. Dorn76 Says:

SHRED! Raise a shit sandwich to the Architect!

Highlights to wade through! Alot of little moments will be discussed (WOTC peak anyone!!!??) that aren’t huge jams, but display the craft on display all 4 nights.

Just a destroyed Wedge opener on Mon night comes to mind, the extra spice in the Sunday Gumbo, Wombat teases….all sorts of goodies.
