TTFF: Dreaming of Summer
“Mike’s -> Simple” Clifford Ball 8.16.96 II
A historic chunk of Summertime Phish.

“Reba” 8.2.03 Limestone, ME
A daytime, post-hiatus gem.

“Sneakin’ Sally” 8.8.98 Columbia, MD
Quintessential Summer ’98 grooves here.

“Disease -> Free” 6.26.95 I, SPAC, NY
Simply put, one of Phish most superbly executed psychedelic odysseys.

“Chalk Dust Torture” 8.31.12 II, Commerce City, CO
Some of Trey’s most blissful and cathartic playing of Summer ’12.

“Light” SPAC, NY 7.5.13 II
This dense, virtuosic conversation kicked off Summer ’13 in earnest and is now my go-to version of the song.

“Crosseyed and Painless” 7.10.13, Holmdel, NJ
This jam has so much staying power—truly an all-timer.

“Harry Hood” 7.22.97 II, Raleigh, NC
After an intense, power-packed set of Phish, the band encored with this sublime “Harry Hood.”
[audio:http://phishthoughts.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/ph97-07-22d2t08.mp3]***
“Rock and Roll -> Meatstick” 8.5.11, George, WA
A jam—especially in context—that caused ripples throughout the modern Phish universe.
[audio:http://phishthoughts.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/ph2011-08-05t14.mp3,http://phishthoughts.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/ph2011-08-05t15.mp3,http://phishthoughts.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/ph2011-08-05t14.mp3]***
“Ghost” 8.15.98 II, Limestone, ME
The essential nugget of late-Summer ’98 Phish foreshadowed the shift to ambient jamming come the fall. This relatively under-the-radar “Ghost” sneaks into my personal top five.

I knew I made the wrong decision this morning when leaving the headphones at home. Note to self, check Miner’s site prior to making dumb decisions.
Morning BBers…happy Friday.
Ho. Lee. Shit. TTFF! Bravo Senor Miner. & Garcia.
4/3/98 Reba could be my favorite I’ve spun to date. Better than St Denis? Think it requires a side by side taste test…
Overstep crushes Traveler
Digging Mike’s newest. Great production, nice syncopated grooves, lotsa subtle instrumental flourishes strewn throughout
Mike does an admirable job with his vocals, which admittedly can be somewhat wearisome to the ear when listening to the full album. But thats nothing new
I like Say Anything and Yarmouth Road well enough but do hope theyre not repeated on Phish’s forthcoming
Would I listen to Overstep if I didnt love Phish? I dunno, how much music do I listen to already because of name recognition…?
Passing this along:

No worries Stoney. I wasn’t offended, just bemused.
How about that Island Reba, JG? Trey sure makes a meal of the fugue, but boy does he ever make up for it in the jam
Pretty great from 6:15 on gcc. Listened to it on walk back to rig from freebie last nt; was so damn good listened to the jam 2x. Aided & abetted my micro’d walk through the hood which was delightful. I’m on my 2nd spin of her already this AM.
Kaveh- sick mix.. Just skip to the Space part.. 1:43:00
Ok…4/3/98 from the top. Have gotten through Paug & then spun that Reba 5-6x but it’s time for the top to bottom treatment. Damn fine Mikes. Don’t get Paugs like that any more either.
So has anyone ever been to hawaii here? Specifically oahu. Know any cool spots to check out? Is it hard to get from one island to the next?
have arrived at the riverport Gin (7.29.98). glad to be here. riding the trey waves.
vibes, halcyon. and thanks for the wisdom. love everything and everybody you have while you can. vape jr. brought the pure joy today.
time to put in for some phish tix. saddle up.
Yeah JG, was wondering why I didn’t remember how sick the Weekapaug is
Happy Friday Stoner Fucks!
And thanks for a much needed TTFF Miner.
High of 56deg on Sat…I’ll take it…and then back to winter next week. Time to get the Jeep out and about.
Was prepared to drop the hammer on our boy here. and then he gets back on his horse and rides into another glorious TTFF, that is a perfectly rounded TTFF with “TT”.
I find it hard to concentrate and work with the density of yoga pants surrounding me at this coffee shop.
Hmmm…yoga pants…
ttff is back- with song descriptions- a nice friday surprise. i love the rock and roll> meatstick, very summery. still so stoked about phila and nyc this summer. i had a dream last night that i was skiing on very old school gear and at the base of one of the lifts was the mann.
still hoping for a meatstick>fire on the mountain> fire>meatstick!
“overstep crushed traveler”
^well, it doesn’t take too much to crush traveler
i personally think unsung citites and movies never made is way better than both.
“i personally think unsung citites and movies never made is way better than both.”
Amen. Great album from Page. No wonder he should have won 2013 MVP.
God bless yoga pants.
Happy Anniversay
There is no Pavilion only option for the Mann?

^ I’m liking the sound of your working environment…might have to hit the gym over lunch today. 🙂
Heady dug Unsung Cities & Movies Never Made; spun it a couple times on your recommendation.
Phestivus 1st wknders. Super diggity dank show just announced by Fiya Werx on the RBCQ. Headhunters River Jam.

Also Fiya Fest tickets just went on sale today. Fwded to teeny brellas. Bear you need me to hit you up w/ the presale info?
Trey’s epic collapse during the Island Reba is hilarious. The jam totally makes up for it. Reminds me of 12/31/03.
Seriously, MiA. At some point it almost sounds like he’s just plucking random things
