jsut watched the HollyHood video from last summer. Not sure why Phish doesn’t make a multi night stand at the Bowl. Perfect place for Kuroda to work some serious magic on that band shell. Can’t think of a more psychedelicable backdrop other than perhaps setting up light rigs in the canyon behind Gorge stage. Is it the Hollywood/LA setting that perhaps forces a more straight up rock show? Can anyone attest to pros/cons of the Bowl?

nice recs JG. Wish Luther had stayed on with the Crowes. He did them a world of good as far as progressing their sound. Jackie Greene seems also to be a good fit but from what I saw, he didn’t step out front and seemed to be content playing in the background when BC needs someone to step out. Rich Rob doesn’t really do the trick most times.

  3. Jerome Garcia Says:

I’m w/ you George re Crowes w/ Luther vs Crowes w/ Jackie. Jackie much looser when playing w/ PL&F & shows off his improvisational chops more. Reserved playing or perhaps more straight ahead rock playing when I saw him w/ Crowes at Jazz Fest & ATX last yr. But fact of the matter is the lead guitarist in the Crowes is a hired gun anymore.

Marque your calendars and grab your Justin Blabaers and Plinys. April 7th is National Beer Day

yeah MiA, well Hicks was kind of a sick bastard. but also a genius. makes some incredibly smart and funny statements, but also some sicko ones.

kinda reminds me of the Zappa love/hate relationship thing.

but also yeah, that show isn’t his best. 89.. his one from 96 called ‘Revelations’ i think shows more progress and refinement with his character.

    Also…Carini’s gonna getcha

cooool where did you try it? brewed down here at Westbrook Brewery didn’t know it made it out to other places. Although Evil Twin does brew elsewhere.

  12. little umbrellas Says:

In a parallel universe Bryce Goggin has engineered every Phish release. And the World is a better place.

  13. little umbrellas Says:

@Kush. The Trappist in Oakland has a ton of Evil Twin stuff coming through in bottles and taps.

if you see this… you may want to reconsider yellowstone and go to glacier.
    1. because IMO its a cooler park. and
    2. (the bigger reason) yellowstone is about to erupt.
