My keys to enjoying Phish:
1) Lots of european tomato paste
2) liking pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain
3) Having half a brain
4) Making love at midnight in the dunes of the cape (tomato paste optional)
5) deer antler spray. at least a quart a day.
6) daily shit tent meditation
7) constant study of the baby’s ass phish cannon
that was all lies. I actually keep my pockets full of Royal Gold Soil.
Every time Tory steps on the digitech, I stuff my ears with royal gold. It’s organic, so I know it’s safe and it’s h3tty, so it keeps that bad vibrations out.
I’m done. I dropped the whale talk for the most part. I’ll drop the ‘Phish isn’t as strong when Trey is not in or near the zone’ talk, for the most part.
Not trying to rain on any parades. FTR, thought the JF set sounded much better on the flat glory hole stream, than when I listened to the soundboard. So I totally get the bliss and bias of the fresh experience.
Yes, they can still bring it. I really dug the NYE run as a whole. Strong, authoritative, inspired. Made the trip-ups stand out more to me, because the base was so solid powered by that prowess I chase.
Great thoughts & discussion here today by William Stoneybeabor butter Palmer HeadyBro gdad vapeski ren & others as it relates to Trey taking Phish seriously being ready when it’s go time & how that relates to the larger question of your own personal relationship/experience w/ the band & live experience. I’ve enjoyed reading along & the thoughts its provoked for me personally.
My experience is difference bc I’m a 3.0 n00b so I don’t have the phistory that you cats do. Nor do I devote as much time & resources (which can most assuredly foster the creation of expectation) to the band bc I have previously established musical vacations (of which Phish is now one) & varied interests. But for me it’s all fresh & exciting bc no one else does what Phish does. There are no other bands that have a fan base w/ this degree of geekery save perhaps the GD. Not many bands have a 30 yr history w/ such varied & multilayered eras to dig into & digest. Primary reason I come here. Learn so much. Keep up the thoughts & discussions like those had today bc we call take something from it. Bravo chaps.
Ftr I’m on the bus & don’t plan on getting off anytime soon.
I won’t change my tune, not significantly at least. I think most folks are in denial of the reality that its their time to go or, more significantly that “this isnt doing it for me like it did” and stay because they can’t come to terms with breaking away from something that occupied such a large chunk of their emotions and psyche for so many years.
That’s basically where I’m at.
^& I think I get where some of you are coming from as we enter yr 6 of 3.0. As you work through your own phishthoughts I hope your path becomes clear.
Way to sum up the day JG! Following post, not aimed at you:
Figured out how I can do Fall. I need little bitch ass Dancing Fool and the other under employed nOObs to come out and earn some stripes! Get their hustle on. Work for Stoney then we rage tour with crystals and hemp necklaces. Or maybe a BBQ / juice bar!
So a soil outfit 3000 miles from home is what brings me back to facebook for the first time in months.
Where can I score a hetty tee or hat, @Stoney? Would be the envy of all the gapers in New England at shows this Summer.
text or email me your addresses and shirt sizes. we want to get the name out. what better way than through you fine folks!
there were at least 2 kinda lame duck bands at the psych fest. i’ll find the names….
Butter says: Same as it ever was: your either on the bus or not.

I agree with you all- the bonus disc is straight money.
Tinley 93 is a good one too; especially the set II Antelope…the pre-Red Rocks 93 Antelope.
Any of you carolinians going to greensky at the beer fest in CLT this weekend?

Quality reading today gang, thanks.
Funny, when I first heard Temples, I immediately thought, “The Zombies?!”
I for one can attest to Mr. Case’s gardening prowess.
Back to work for me! Oh, and shit tent.

SnubbyCase don’t thumb your nose at Mystic Theatre in Petaluma on Mon 6/30. Worth the trip literally & figuratively. Great value at $47 & supports a good cause. Double your rainbow back guarantee.
