sugar is a hell of drug.

  2. gavinsdad Says:

I’m always fresh head as I only ride the bike a few times a year and generally middle nite of 3 packs. So yeah, Ive never gotten the chance to create a tolerance in 3.0

  3. vapebraham Says:

kaveh: i’m contemplating it. thank you. 12 hours of driving doesn’t sound nice. neither does airfare. poor planning.

anyone want to travel to portsmouth from phl. on tues, come home thurs?

    what’s the vibe down there?

  4. DirtReprise Says:

Anyone know whats up with phishtracks? No update in over a week.

  5. mudbuddy11 Says:

yep, phishtracks still doesnt have chicago. anyone know whats up?

  6. RicksFork Says:

I saw that too @DR and MB. I have been spinning them from last rewind instead.

  7. Joe Says:

Now we’re advocating not tripping at shows? #sitehasgonetoshit

i’m feeling miner’s distatse for chi night 3 set 1. Solid gumbo opener and serviceable Jim. tela is a treat. and yet another line – alright. but they lose a little something in the mule drum shenanigans, although i enjoy the sounds the lumina makes. Gin rages but doesn’t really hit the sweet spot for me, sounds off kilter.

  10. marcoesq Says:

Vape, my opinion was that there wasn’t a scene or vibe at all. Only went there once in ’11 and it was the tour closer but nothing was happening.

  11. aj Says:

The second half of the second night first set was my fav of the 4 I saw – from Brian and Robert on, really liked the flow and song selection.

  12. marcoesq Says:

Ray LaMontagne says STFU and dance

  13. aj Says:

Not sure what happened in that Mule, but in the venue it sounded like the Lumina was not actually amped or turned on, the band then surrounded Fish and played his drums while they tried to work it out and then Fish played a few moments on the end. Was there lumina sound for the webcast or was I just really spaced out and not hearing it? The stuff they played had a heavy dub sound which I quite enjoyed.

  14. Darth Vaper Says:

Full sound on the webcast AJ.

  15. aj Says:

I wonder if there was in the venue and I just cound not hear it but what it looked like was the band trying to tell Fish the sound was not working and then they just played a dub jam. I’ll take it.

  16. vapebraham Says:

thanks, marco. ntelos is GA, small, and on the water yet most here seem ambivalent by the scene and the shows to date there. was it all the tucking? curious. i’m leaning towards sneaking in a dick’s sunday (solo tack on after family portland trip).

yes, aj. i spun that set in the car the other day and dug it from BnR on (aside from moma, it was a rough set to that point). they sounded great on BnR.

7.20 maze quite good w/ page owning it on the organ. slick little teases sprinkled throughout his solo. trey’s solo, however, is a whale fest, barely within the limits of seasickness. saving his fingers. scintillating unified peak.

digging ocelot. recent ocelots have been chilled out (fishman swinging it more) and put on a light whale diet.

  17. vapebraham Says:

actually this 7.20 ocelot is reminiscent of the whalier ocelots of old. this set does kinda blow, relatively.

  18. marcoesq Says:

On paper, ntelos looks amazing. Just seemed a little sterile in person and I think their playing at that venue confirms that.

Now, if it’s between ntelos or no other shows? I’d be there in a heartbeat.

  19. vapebraham Says:

i heard mule as less of a dub jam and more of a mashup of GD-style drums and space.

  20. BingosBrother Says:

Sunday was A LOT less volume from the stacks comparably.Turned up slightly for 2ndset.

    :pours one out for Wedgie:

Nice write up on the tour so far, as a counter reference. I think this is a well balanced take, as is our host’s.

  24. Mr. Palmer Says:

Mule drum jam was cool as shit on webcast.

  25. tela's_muff Says:

just booked an apt off of airbnb in the North Shore neighborhood for 4 nights. really excited. thanks for tips. i’ll be sure to hit you up for recs Dusty! i skipped Summer tour for this exact reason. i saved up the capital, brought in the wife. It’s the “No Nap Fall Tour”.
