    kaveh,

it’s in mexico. supposed to be amazing.

    BBers:

I’m looking for a smaller speaker(s) for our kitchen. I want a little system that can connect to our Apple Airport Express and play off our phones, iPods, be it wirelessly or with a cable. I know there are LOTS of options out there, so I’m wondering if any of you have an recommendations for me to start to look into? Thanks.

  4. Kaveh Says:

@stoney: I saw that; it does look like it would be an exceptional time. Sun, suds, tequila and great music. Nothing wrong with any of that.

  5. Jerome Garcia Says:

Knowy is correct Kaveh. Put on by Cloud9. Those mofos are deeply dialed; put on JamCruise Panic En La Playa Furthur etc events down in Mex.

Sigh. Our fall ticket situation is so complicated. It’s a total first world problem but it’s annoying. Whichever shows our friends go to we won’t need tickets for but they can’t/won’t decide in time for lottery usually. Plus we have to go through this phase every time where they try to talk us into going to extra runs we just can’t do. Yes SF or SB would be great but it’s not possible so if we could just skip the part where you try to talk us into it (as if we wouldn’t go if it was a choice) that’d be great

  7. Jerome Garcia Says:

    Don’t forget buds Kaveh 😎

  8. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

@C, if I hit 10 west coast shows this year and don’t meet you after 5 years….

  9. Stoney Case Says:

Something tells me Waterwheel, which is pretty barren out east this summer, will have a windfall of volunteers come Fall Tour.

::Gives virtual middle finger to no one in particular::

  11. tela's_muff Says:

Kaveh – we picked up the Sonos system based on Leo’s rec. We’ve really liked it. Great sound, you can add and add onto it. a little pricey, but we like.

  13. Stoney Case Says:

the ticket deal for phish seems confusing! do you have to fill out a separate order for each show? Can’t request multiple shows from one basket or am i missing something?

  14. dorn76 Says:

    Re: Stoney’s WW Thoughts…

If you think that middle finger is for you, it is.

  15. Kaveh Says:

@tela’s: I’ll look into that. We already have Airport through out the house. An entertainment system downstairs and another smaller system upstairs. Thus, I would like something that can be tied into the Airport. I wonder if Sonos can do that, or if it is another wireless system? But it is only for the kitchen, so it won’t be a big deal to make it another unique system.

  16. Darth Vaper Says:

Kaveh, what is the source? You want to stream wirelessly from a desktop to the speakers?

  17. IrieWalton Says:

    Stoney:

Once you get to the checkout page after requesting your first concert, click the “Event Listings” button at the top of the screen, and that will take you back to the tour listing page, where you can select the next concert, and repeat until you’ve requested the whole tour.

  18. dorn76 Says:

Pretty hip to be over Phish and still have a Tour left to see.

  19. Kaveh Says:

@stoney: it is new this year; to request more, you go to the “show index” at the top right of your basket. It took me a second or two to figure that out when putting in my order last night.

  20. Kaveh Says:

@darthVaper: I want to have a small set of speakers in the kitchen that can work with our Apple TV and Airport Express. Thus wirelessly is important. I’m looking for an option to having the living room system turned up to listen to in the kitchen, without having to go big and put legit speakers in the kitchen. Plus a speaker system that might be portable for trips.

  21. MrCompletely Says:

Re: Pynchon, I just decided to go ahead and get excited about the Inherent Vice movie…could be amazing. Bleeding edge was the first of his books that felt a bit recycled to me but I read it after re reading some of his best stuff so maybe that’s not fair.

Gravity’s Rainbow is straight trolling you for the first couple hundred pages

  22. Kaveh Says:

@darthVaper: Thus I would like to push music to these speakers from a computer (both Apples), iPhone or connect an iPod and play through it as well. So a USB port would be important too.

I have no idea if something like this exists…

  23. MiA Says:

    Kaveh,

    http://www.ultimateears.com/en-us/mini-boom

I bought two, and use them as portable stereo speakers, if you use an app on your iphone. They use bluetooth wirelessly, or can be direct connected in stereo.

They have an amazingly loud sound and good bass, and are about $99 each. So you can put one in each corner, and play from your phone to them, and have good stereo sound. If you want to pick them up and move, you can easily do that.

Because they are bluetooth, you can use them where you go, and don’t have to worry about having Wi-Fi.

    Just another option.

  24. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

@stoney, i was confused too, they just changed the wording, click top right, it says other shows or something convoluted

“so if we could just skip the part where you try to talk us into it”

So MrC. You should come to the BGCA run. Herbaceous smoke is on me.
