“In retrospect, very cool. At the time, a little bit of white-knuckler action.”

I love this. Lt. Dan that shit they throw at you. Palmer’s got a set. He puts his chin out and faces that crap down.

  9. MiA Says:

Eat that Question … F Apple’s Autocorrect. Points for T3 typing it right.

  10. MrCompletely Says:

I just worked a reference to “conceptual continuity” into this technical wiki I’m writing, kind of a custy FZ lyric reference I know but I was still happy with it

there was a time that i was driving around in our van playing Eat That Question at volume 11 and i actually got misty. i blame it on aynsley dunbar.

Grand Wazoo was an entry point of sorts for me. My brother gave me the album for Christmas when I was in eighth grade. Damn straight, I know I was lucky to have such great guides.

  13. MrCompletely Says:

my mom had an OG release of We’re Only In It For The Money in her vinyl collection, it was filed with the Firesign Theater and not with the rock bands, she gave me her records when I was about 11 or 12 and that one kinda stood out right away

  14. MrCompletely Says:

the first time I ever faceplanted while high, I was about 13 or 14 and listening to that album in headphones and laughed so hard at something I fell off my chair face first

  15. MrCompletely Says:

later on I realized the original pressings of John Fahey and Nick Drake were actually the hippest things in her collection because of the rarity of them – fucking no one bought Nick Drake albums when they came out, that’s central to the whole story, and no one to this day buys John Fahey albums – but it was def the Mothers that caught my attention first

  16. little umbrellas Says:

    Grand Wazoo!

  17. dorn76 Says:

Talking Wazoo would be a good name for something.

  18. Jerome Garcia Says:

John Prine is an American original. Enjoy PhamB!

  19. Jerome Garcia Says:

Found this to be an interesting read. I’m sure MrC could add a thing or two.

    Palmer’s an OG baller. Fact.

  20. MrCompletely Says:

Got that first John Prine album from mom too, no huge shock there, but she also had Bruised Orange which is super classy & still my favorite of his albums. Steve Goodman production ftw, a clean and lively sound

  21. Jerome Garcia Says:

^pretty sure a great deal of this is touched on in McNally’s biopic.

dorn’s got his popcorn ready. I’ll pull for the Fins since they’ve got Odrick & Wake on D. Gotta root for fellow alumni.

  22. MrCompletely Says:

You can gaze out the window get mad and get madder,
Throw your hands in the air, say “What does it matter?”
But it don’t do no good to get angry,
    So help me I know
For a heart stained in anger grows weak and grows bitter.
You become your own prisoner as you watch yourself sit there
Wrapped up in a trap of your very own
    Chain of sorrow

  23. MrCompletely Says:

Like a lot of that guy’s stuff that’s too long for me to read…it’s been covered a lot though. The whole thing seems to have been typically passive-aggressive

  24. Jerome Garcia Says:

Yeah long winded as fuck that cat is.

  25. MrCompletely Says:

That the same gut that’s working on “NedBase”? Has to be
