For sure. Great show. Literally every song from Tube on had a jam and it was such a great journey. Psych rock Carini>Mr C and then the joyous arena throwdown of 1999 into the dark meat Steam>No Quarter and funked out Character. With Neil encore taboot.

damn, Tribe is playing Outside lands tonight? I’ll check that out. Minus the 5ft assassin of course

I believe I will always hold Glazed as it’s own thing.

No doubt Wolf, Powdered is the biz. The cerebral lift off in Carini was the kinda thing we’ll be telling our grandkids about. I had no idea they had played Mr Completly even tho I just had streamed the prior version the week before or whatever. I guess I thought it was just a continuation of Carini’s psych jam and Trey had shouted a few lyrics. We’re going to party like it’s 1999 – YEA WE ARE

Listening to these 24/96s through 4ohm tower speakers with a 12″ sub … feel like I’m in the room. So crystal

You can really judge a home system by how well you can hear and feel Mike’s taurus pedals

That Carini is pretty underrated, def peak stuff.

Tube is my favorite I’ve ever seen and maybe heard. By the 3min mark they’ve lifted off into major key bliss funk jam. The lick he lays down at 4:34 pulls at your heartstrings…And then reversing his loops and firing off those laser beams around 9min…damn. Good description of what he was doing here

Reed Mathis has shared their new Electric Beethoven live album Maps We Found In The Ground in lossless for free… Here is the link:

I’m not yet sure about the production decision to add orchestra samples but it’s an interesting listen anyway. It brings out more the classical music element to their sound…

    Check it out!

  12. Frankie Says:

Thanks for the podcast link Mr. C… sounds interesting!

Someone else pointed this out maybe on twitter but the banner raising pics, like the one that’s the banner on – that’s the happiest looking pic of Mike I think I’ve ever seen.

  14. Frankie Says:

He looked really happy the whole tour from what I saw of him. Way more engaged musically too… can’t fake the music they play… something really clicked this tour…

I blame Page’s new toys… Everybody wanted to join in…

In his own band, he’s like a totally different person… jumping around and smiling, it’s funny to watch…

    Cool article…

Why Phish’s 13-night run at Madison Square Garden was so special

Waiting to renew drivers license at the DMV. Good thing the BB has filled ~15 pages today. The nice old lady sends

  18. Selector J Says:

    Oops (fat fingered the send).

…the nice old lady next to me sends her regards to whoever linked that vibrator website. Accidentally hit the link while scrolling and heard her gasp. Haha!

Saw the first 5 BDs. I think it’s crazy to even try to rank shows. They were all so good. That said, here are some of my favorite parts of the run.

    In the building:
Powder set 2 was my favorite set, closely followed by Jam-filled set 1. Jam-filled was def my favorite show overall. Danced my ass off all night.
Best donut cover was Strawberry Letter 23. So funky and they crushed it. Please keep, Treybone!

    From the couch:
Best couch tour moment of the BD for me was that Izabella. Trza straight murdered that shit. When he booted that beach ball that was onstage mid-solo… Pure savagery.

Loved the ‘Everything In Its Right Place.’ Trey manipulating Fish’s vocals on the KAOSS pad?? C’mon! That was ridiculous. Hope they keep that toy on stage for future deep space voyages.

Favorite full jam from the couch was Simple (so much energy) but favorite jam segment was probably the end of that S&SS. That thing was completely maniacal.

  21. MrCompletely Says:

yeah at some point we need to go beyond whole jams into the jamlet sections, those 2-5 minute chunks of locked-in fire…that Scents boogie is ridiculous, straight crazy

  22. Frankie Says:

First 5 BD is a good run! @SelJ Well played!

  23. Frankie Says:

@Mr. C I was listening to that on a mixlr while going home on the subway and hoping that the connection would not fail me… such a sick jam! I caught the whole thing jamming in the wagon and then lost the signal as it ended… Deep in IT Mountain Jam-flavored jam…

  24. Frankie Says:

Another great little jamlet is the Island Twist’d space jam in Mike’s…

  25. Frankie Says:

So many highlights, it’s hard to keep track… Digesting all those donuts will take the whole off season… Lucky us!
