Early 3.0 Playlists: 2009-2011

Red Rocks – 7.31.09 (Graham Lucas)

About a month ago, a friend of mine who missed the first three-plus years of 3.0 was saying how Phish wasn’t very musically proficient in these years. I begged to differ. First, I started listing great stuff from each year in a group text, but then I decided to show him instead of tell. With the incredibly useful LivePhish app, I created extended playlists of the most relevant jams from these years. In addition to sharing them with some friends, I figured I’d share them with anyone and everyone who’d want to listen as a reminder of how exciting these years actually were. I find that 2009, 2010 and 2011 get a bad rap. Though the band was less consistent during this early comeback era, they did produce quite a bit of good music.

These playlists got quite long, so I most often included only the songs that had the jams and not the come down songs, so some tracks have abrupt endings, but in the end this doesn’t prove too obtrusive. If you have the LivePhish app, these links will open the playlists in your app. Enjoy!

Nice, BK. Welcome to being back on the train. Enjoy! Stoked for ya.

Thanks, as always, for ALL the music recs, BB. Keep ’em coming!

Spun Dirty Minds this morning- first time in a LONG time. Classic 5 Star ’80’s. A masterpiece.

Also spun highlights from the first Madonna album this morning. Don’t sleep on the album version (as opposed to the single) of Borderline, with that drumbreak in the middle… dope.

  2. aj Says:

Yaaaaz, Heady B. First Madonna album is party times. Lucky Star for life.

DF ~ Alas looking at pictures from Dead and Co at the Gorge 2 weeks ago shows the “shade” screens all around. From about 12′ up to 36′ or so is my guess. That’s better then a full top to bottom, but you can prbly count on them being there.

  9. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

Was 2015 the best summer tour of 3.0 if baker’s doesn’t really count?

  10. jonacho Says:

BB -Its been a crazy shifting year with tickets, and I’ve got a pair of Forum Floors available – 1 for each night.
I would also trade these for floors for any night of Vegas or Dicks if you are interested.
    hit me up

  11. Sally Says:

Jonacho-Jtran might need those and I have a friend who needs a Friday and most likely would take both. I sent Jtran a text and will touch base with ya soon. Thx!

    Hey kids

Been a minute – nothing bad up, just busy at work, and juggling too many channels

But work just turned a corner and I did a little phish related project which you can find in this orange

Bait and Switch – a chronological playlist of all the Live Baits and similar compilation bonus disks, in FLAC. I’m probably forgetting some but the bonus stuff includes So Inclined, Left Nuts, I-90s, Wisconsin Edition, Road to Vegas etc

So basically all those great random tracks in one place.

It’s 186 tracks and just under 16 gig

Because of a glitch in Drive I would break it up into multiple zip files of 25 or so tracks at a time

Bit of a drive by drop off here but so it goes. Love y’all

  19. little umbrellas Says:

  22. MrCompletely Says:

If anyone has stuff that should be in there which I missed, in lossless, let me know. Next up is deciding if the FTA sets have good enough quality to mix in or not, but that’s a fair start anyway

  23. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

Bonnaroo FTA was released in gorgeous FLAC

  24. jonacho Says:
