Early 3.0 Playlists: 2009-2011

Red Rocks – 7.31.09 (Graham Lucas)

About a month ago, a friend of mine who missed the first three-plus years of 3.0 was saying how Phish wasn’t very musically proficient in these years. I begged to differ. First, I started listing great stuff from each year in a group text, but then I decided to show him instead of tell. With the incredibly useful LivePhish app, I created extended playlists of the most relevant jams from these years. In addition to sharing them with some friends, I figured I’d share them with anyone and everyone who’d want to listen as a reminder of how exciting these years actually were. I find that 2009, 2010 and 2011 get a bad rap. Though the band was less consistent during this early comeback era, they did produce quite a bit of good music.

These playlists got quite long, so I most often included only the songs that had the jams and not the come down songs, so some tracks have abrupt endings, but in the end this doesn’t prove too obtrusive. If you have the LivePhish app, these links will open the playlists in your app. Enjoy!

All the jams being mentioned could be jam of the tour. These are all on the level.

    Gorge III C&P-Twist.
    Kraken Melt.
    SF Carini
    Forum Fuego
    ATL Carini
    ATL II Soul Planet
    Camden DWD

  5. RoosterPizza Says:

I’d add BGCA II SYSF>Twist to that list.

  6. Hans Says:

Camden Melt is pitch black nightmare musiic. Not sure what I think about it, if Gorge Melt is a journey where we view the kraken in all its dark mysterious splendor, Camden is us watching it do something evil. Trey has this stabbing effect on repeat that he oscillates with during the peak. Gordo is just smashing us with a wall black color. Dark.

Rest of Camden II jamlets are sweet. Quality set.

ER is the highlight. Need to spin again might be on the top level or at least up there as a tour highlight.

    Curveball Arrival Info Email:

Curveball is just around the corner! Here is some important information to make your arrival to the festival as smooth as possible.

    Wristbands

Your wristband will be scanned at the entrances to the campgrounds and venue.

Don’t put it on until you get to the festival.  As you arrive, make sure that everyone in your vehicle has their wristband on their wrist and ready to show the festival staff.

STEP 1: Grab your registered wristband. Place it on your right wrist. Do not tighten it yet!

STEP 2: Place only two fingers between the band and your wrist. Ask your event buddy to help you tighten the wristband to a comfortable position.

STEP 3: Keeping in mind that the plastic lock can only move in one direction and cannot be loosened, have your event buddy pull the cloth through the lock, ensuring that it is securely fastened.

If your wristband is unwearable (damaged, pulled too tight, etc.) here is what to do:

First, register it online in your name. That can be done here.

Second, bring the wristband with you and head to the Box Office when you arrive. They will issue you a replacement wristband and deactivate your old one.

    Campground Entrance Times

    Hours of operation:
    Wednesday, August 15 – 12:00pm to 10:00pm

Thursday, August 16 – 12:00pm to remain open throughout the festival

    Who can arrive on Wednesday?

Anyone with a Wednesday arrival vehicle pass (this is indicated on your windshield sticker), Glen Close campers, or anyone who purchased a rental package (a Great Tent Rental or a GA RV Rental).

Anyone arriving after 10pm on Wednesday will be turned away.

  15. sumodie Says:

    Vehicle Passes

Your vehicle pass is the sticker that goes on your vehicle’s windshield that will be scanned at the campground entrance gates upon your arrival.

Every vehicle (car, truck, SUV, van, RV, etc.) entering Curveball will require a separate camping vehicle pass.

Vehicle passes are associated with the original buyer and therefore do not need to be registered.

Apply the vehicle sticker to the lower part of the driver’s side of your windshield before you approach the festival site so that festival staff can direct you appropriately.

Do not attempt to remove the sticker from your windshield at any point. They are tamper-proof and any damaged stickers will need to be replaced at the Box Office.

    Box Office / Will Call

The Box Office is for folks who have wristbands or vehicle passes they need to pick up at will call, for troubleshooting orders, and helping with wristband issues.

Located at the corner of Montour-Townsend Road (Route 16) and Bronson Hill Road. There will be signs for Box Office. Find directions here.

    Box Office hours:

    Wednesday, August 15 – 8:00am to midnight
    Thursday, August 16 – 8:00am to midnight
    Friday, August 17 – 8:00am to midnight
    Saturday, August 18 – 8:00am to 8:00pm
    Sunday, August 19 – 8:00am to 8:00pm

  16. sumodie Says:

    Register your wristband

You don’t have to register your wristband, but we highly recommend it! Registration links the wristband to the person using it, not just the person who purchased it. Once registered under your name, it proves that it belongs to you (and you only).

We can replace it easily if it’s registered to you and something happens to your wristband, for example: you lost it, someone stole it, or it gets damaged. Otherwise the original purchaser will need to be present with you at the box office for us to help you with any wristband issues.

Registering your wristband also enters you to win an exclusive Curveball merch pack!

    Register your wristband HERE: https://activation.frontgatetickets.com/#/2018curveball

or at one of the wristband registration kiosks at the festival.
