Early 3.0 Playlists: 2009-2011

Red Rocks – 7.31.09 (Graham Lucas)

About a month ago, a friend of mine who missed the first three-plus years of 3.0 was saying how Phish wasn’t very musically proficient in these years. I begged to differ. First, I started listing great stuff from each year in a group text, but then I decided to show him instead of tell. With the incredibly useful LivePhish app, I created extended playlists of the most relevant jams from these years. In addition to sharing them with some friends, I figured I’d share them with anyone and everyone who’d want to listen as a reminder of how exciting these years actually were. I find that 2009, 2010 and 2011 get a bad rap. Though the band was less consistent during this early comeback era, they did produce quite a bit of good music.

These playlists got quite long, so I most often included only the songs that had the jams and not the come down songs, so some tracks have abrupt endings, but in the end this doesn’t prove too obtrusive. If you have the LivePhish app, these links will open the playlists in your app. Enjoy!

And instead of donuts, on one day they could give everybody a Renn Fayre-style giant roast turkey leg when you walk into the venue

I’m in my 5th decade. Instead of asking I should have just searched for it. Duh. It is a Japanese guy and it makes zero sense to me except that Summer 2014 was all on the East until Dick’s.

Free webcast of the band in a room this weekend would hit phans like a back door slider.

Wook Down brandishing a T leg would be epcot fam a lam. Vibes to those afflicted by this mess. If it makes you feel better I just got done driving 5 hours with a lower back nerve improvement to move my kid into her college crib. Ice, patches, tennis ball, drugs, thc, prayers, etc. As shitty as I feel, I’d say it would be damn close to how y’all must feel. Seriously, so sorry. Mad respect for how y’all have been handling your business. Proud.

I work at a very large water purification plant so I know a bit about clean water and how it becomes that way. After reading that article (thanks swilly, much love kid) it is clear they have an incredibly antiquated system up there. Also, a few people failed miserably and have cost their town an incredibly large amount of money. Glad it wasn’t me. Gonna suck for them.

    —Feel good friday alert—

My study permit was denied today based on an error by the agent/indidual who read my application. The issue is that there is no way to challenge it. After going to the border to talk to immigration immigration services, I found out that the best way to deal with this is at the airport after getting back from Europe next week. Then it took me 3 hours to get back across the border. Fuck this day.

  12. BingosBrother Says:

    Fucking curves everywhere.

  13. RoosterPizza Says:

Yeah. Not exactly that heady first set that was going to kick off Friday.

haven’t read back fully, and am grossly uninformed (read only band’s statement). but, some people are really putting some blame on Phish? reed icculus… the board of health or some similar agency probably requires that vendors and the public have access to drinkable water at large gatherings. i can’t see how Phish has any of the blame.

  15. Sex&City Says:

^ don’t think anyone is blaming Phish.

I blame Phish for Coventry but not this.

DF mostly mad because he really wanted that Pollock print.

Moby Dick, please return and let us know there is still hope for the Kraken to show it’s full form, at some future orbit.

  17. BingosBrother Says:

I’d like 1 of those Slip Stitch and Pass records.

Anyone know where a list of the FTA songs can be found?

  18. Jonacho Says:

    It is what is

And what we make of it
