Happy Friday! I thought I would share this Brian Eno playlist I made in case anyone is into that kind of thing. This is all “rock” related work of his or that he was part of. I will do an ambient one down the road as well. There is an awesome Eno documentary on Amazon Prime now too, really worth watching, and this playlist is a good companion to that. Enjoy!

“How about the infamous 25 minute Shining Star from 11/19/93 to kick off this Friday? Jerry!Jerry!Jerry!”
^^^ bro, I was there. road tripped to Hampton from Durham, NC. My buddy and I were seniors and a sweet lil sophomore heady lady joined us and provided the wheels. religious experience on the floor of the mothership; major tears and emotional release during that Shining Star. We just kept singing the chorus. We wouldn’t let it stop. Don’t you go away (Jerry). Cathartic and amazing. The next summer (’94), I’d meet my future bride. Her birthday: 11.19. Our wedding song: Shining Star
word. back then. things were spontaneous and loose. Girl (forgot her name) says, “Hey, Jerry’s playing in Hampton Virginia tonight. Wanna go?” My buddy and I: “Sure, sounds great. When do we leave?”
all kinds of upside down twisted over here in china
every musical outlet has been blocked except this one!
*major score for the BB btw!!!!****
was excited to chomp on your spot mix AJ but alas, big red got the best of me
simmering on some KVXT which is not so simmery. but it’s all i got
been up for 4 days, with about 4 hours of cumulative sleep
a trip like no other
jazzed AF for ghost of the forest in April, feelin some secret set vibes…..no idea what to expect. couldn’t be happier about that
walking through factories today provided a lot of perspective….they were modern, clean, and comfortable. happy to see the workers were treated well. was really inspiring to see a massively productive workforce. lots of care goes into your socks yalll
next couple days we’ll travel deeper into more rural countryside. factories will be very different. Today one of the biggest factory owners in china told us a story of how he was looking to launch production in USA. But didn’t, because there was no skilled labor. being passionate about manufacturing in USA it hurt my heart. ultimately inspiring though. so many people need work but dont have the training.
anywho thanks for the chalk, community, vibes, and banter.
barely able to type now, maybe sleep will come.
HDHT – Spotify not blocked in China – but you can also download things on your phone in advance, which I do a ton of for the long haul there and back. I was just there for 6 days again, but up in the Jing. Enjoy the countryside factories – certainly will be a not so nice vibe but the food out there should be good.
The Eel River box is absolutely wonderful. Good hopping on here and seeing some love for it. I’ve spent way more than one lazy summer afternoon in a hammock spinning Lazy Bones chuffing a Country Man spliff… and looking forward to many more. Cheers, BB. Love you kids.
Wow. Tonight was my first Mike show since Kimock and Walter joined the band. Those two are great additions to the band. Craig Myers surprised me by having a much larger presence in the band, both sound wise and being positioned front right with a much larger set up than I remember. And the band didn’t sound muddy at all, which was often the case at my prior Mike shows.
I had no clue that Trey was rumored to be in the house. What a treat. His playing immediately electrified the whole room, all 525 of us. He and Scott sounded great together; Scott def upped his game with Trey beside him. Trey stayed for the entire second set (after the first song) & encore, which was Sweet Emotion!
Also fun to see Mike’s parents and daughter walk by us a couple of times. This 4 night home town run must feel super special to Mike and his family. He seemed especially happy to have Trey up there with him; their onstage bond seemed unusually tight tonight.
At $32.50 this is easily the cheapest quality Phish related project I’ve seen in at least a decade. Also the smallest venue I’ve seen Trey play since winter Europe ’97.
And I’ll be back for today’s Sunday show. Thank you, Mike!
Yo Jerome! You at the Rasslin’ in Pitt, dude? I’m about to watch it on the
tee-vee
ain’t no bread in the breadbox, yo
Kinda really bummed that there wasn’t any bread in the eel breadbox

Anyone have an idea about the sound of Ghosts Of The Forest? Anything leaked.

Went to post about trey showing up last night but scoop’d even from his bb semi retirement. Looks like I made the wrong decision to stay on the couch.
