    the Vegas Carini, my goodness.
holleeefaaaackk this has jam of the year written all over it.
Carini eats you for breakfast. ;0 love you kids

nasty nasty playing. that one fish break!!>!> this is the one.

Charging full breath karken jam, multiple sections of minor. The freak party don’t stop. Depth charge funk. Vegas Carini thank god, and also why wasn’t i there.

  2. MrCompletely Says:

Def a concept album. Read the Phishbill and the fake websites. The band became subjects of an MK Ultra like psychedelic experiment. Something about telepathy or psychic vision. One of the main guess in the band lost his mind as a result. Album was made after the experiment. I don’t know if there’s a story exactly but it’s like an impressionist painting of an alien abduction story.

Vegas 4 s2 def my fav of the run. Not just bc the split. Very dank set. Dripping.

    Real Talk :

Why did LU leave Vegas before the weekend began in earnest and before the phish from VT finished playing there?

  4. little umbrellas Says:

trey did something I’ve never heard him do in the Vegas Tube

back half of the jam, once he throws on the Leslie. It’s like a delay but he’s playin in double time (???)

Mu Machine Gun Ecco the Trolphin

  5. little umbrellas Says:

    PB: gigs

  6. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

Yeah that crackling sound from mike is dumbbb

  7. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

lu it’s not an effect it’s a key change

  8. little umbrellas Says:

^after the key change, the technique and effect. Eccmu the Trolphin.

  9. butter Says:

to hit people with it between the eyes, kinda 94/95 style with the hard dynamics? You know what I mean?

^yes C, I feel what you guys are describing on with the splits

other moments of 94/95 stylings, this past run …. Slave had some 94 instant peaks out of quiet moments. Weekapaug solo. and not that it sounded like 94/95 necessarily, but the psychedelic guitar led improv approach was familiar.

throw in If I could and Lifeboy and that helps this vibe too

  10. butter Says:

yea Mike does soem of the craziest shit i’ve ever heard from him in Carini. during the spacious part at onset- he was already playing on like 4 sides of the beat, but then sort of inverts that is playing what i can only call 8 dimensions.

and I agree C if i was to choose (excluding vv) a best musical set Vegas 4 set 2 it is. The scents is unbelievable, Carini and Split. Xeyed 01 for good measure.

  11. Santos Case Says:

I concede the Halloween sets greatness. Rare occasion where I am enjoying the playback more than the live experience. I blame seat size and excessive cigarette smoke for my initial lukewarm reception. Hope some stick around and get the full treatment

  12. realoutcasty Says:

I had the greatest time in space (my mancave) during the V4 S2. Liquid flow. Trey shooting lighting out his fingertips. That’s a classic Phish set anchored by the greatest psych song they have. Loved it.

  13. butter Says:

    realitie’s spoon fed Santo’s Case 😉

it was a high level troll in the post truth era. They preyed on so many of our preconceived notions that pick up on things that are supposed to suck. Broadway, sing songy vocals, wingsuit reprise, nerdy lyrics, dancing.

More than anything they showed us things we don’t like about ourselves. I was tripping on this pretty hard during night 2. life and our baggage we carry around that’s supposed to “help” us decide what we like.

what a joke it all is when you reduct it all down.

  14. jdub Says:

Take this with a grain a salt.

The jams from this fall feel like the phish jams of old. That was my instant reaction upon listening tonight to vegas mercury and chi no mans for first time. A band and guitar player willing and confident enough to keep going.

    This is an interesting development…

  15. Frankie Says:

    And there’s a golden age…

I liked these cymbals had on his white kit at Halloween… no resonance, he just hit them and they stopped… used them a lot in the space segment at the start and throughtout the set… cool sound!

  16. Santos Case Says:

    Split was scary in house

  17. HeadyBrosevelt Says:

Stoney, when Split ended I said outloud, and to no one in particular, “That Split was so fucking beautiful.”

  18. HeadyBrosevelt Says:

Has anyone heard whether or not these dorks from VT are going to put out a studio album of Faceplant: Into Rock ala Wingsuit?

Also, whose gonna use the handle Clueless Wallob? How many more weeks until there is a strain named Clueless Wallob? Ha!

  19. bobby weird Says:

yea, i definitely got the acid trip vibe, or some deep explanation of interstellar space, or both, from my deep dive yesterday. hat in hand says it right…

  20. bobby weird Says:

Just saw an enormous fox-like beast (dark red coat), with unusually large snout, and dark grey, bushy tail. Just another day in the city.

  21. Light Glaze Says:

I just keep thinking of the comment from drew cluey. Someone called him clueless.

    Clueless Wallob.

  22. Lumpyhead Says:

That 4K roses is the f*ckin goods

  23. Lumpyhead Says:

^ yeah i think it was jtran, gold

  24. phlorida phan Says:

    Rando!! Chest bump, homie!

  25. vegas wolfmans Says:

Count me in the Vegas 4 Set 2 fanner camp. Beyond the Split. Dead heat between that and Nash I Set II for set of tour. We’ve been rightly critical of the band for shitty 4th quarters, but both of those sets are fire the whole way through. Hampton I Set II and Chicago I Set II also worthwhile whole-set bangers. Just press play style. Credit where credit is due.

My playlist from this mini tour is ridiculously long. This is good.
