Twist > Simple” 11.29.03 II

The only truly memorable jam from the band’s lackluster Turkey Run in ’03.

neemor, the -7 blew me away yesterday.

Also, I think if you skipped to the ‘jam’ segment of lots of the 2.0 songs, you would find yourself in a similar soundscape. They had a place to go during ’03-’04, and would get there through just about any song.

  2. neemor Says:

    Morning, Backpack Man.
My mind has finally settled into itself from yesterday.
I tried smooshing 73 lbs into a 35 lb. sack.
    Doesn’t work.
Seriously, the Seven Below from yesterday’s JOTDs is literally the second or third coolest thing I’ve ever heard.
    Is anyone listening to this??

  3. Mr. Palmer Says:

Neemor like a kid on christmas morning- get after it tonight kid! Save some for tuesday.

  4. neemor Says:

I’m not sure if I can save anything, my body’s not designed that way.
    What up, Palmer?
    I’m so friggin excited.
    Did I say that already?
AGAIN, Listen to this -7 right now if you haven’t.

  5. neemor Says:

    Robear seal of approval.
Wish you guys were all coming, but sumo, willowed, fergie and jdub will hold down the Oakdale.
Miner’s seventh favorite small indoor Connecticut venue?

  6. neemor Says:

Currently adorned with phishthoughts.com Series One long sleeve tee shirt.

  7. Mr. Completely Says:

Robear that became clear to me when I made a mix of 03 “big jam” tunes

I actually found listening to it extremely tedious which was very surprising

sometimes they end up in a unique place, leading into those grail jams, the unique moments – but to get there they generally go through a phase that’s very very similar from one jam to another, and stringing them together made it super obvious…and sometimes they just stay in that kind of rocket-fuelled but unfocused warp speed jamspace the whole time…

there ‘s a lot of great stuff in there of course, but unlike a lot of great eras of phish jamming I didn’t think it was improved via distillation…

    just an odd observation

    ur up early too…kiddo?

only 2 screens of posts at 7:45 pacific, this takes me back a ways

  8. Mr. Completely Says:

    well, 3 now

  9. Leo Weaver Says:

sporting my short sleeve version (red) this morning…

  10. neemor Says:

    Wow.
    Splinter and grow.
    Re.
    Mark.
    A.
    Bull.
I can’t get over that song.

  11. neemor Says:

    Nice.
    ‘Sho of Life’ HD video.
    Thank you Miner.
That’s the one I’ve been looking for.
    You really are one-stop-phishing….

  12. Mr. Completely Says:

    Shoe of Life?

  13. Robear Says:

yeah, C. My friends that were on tour at the time, with plenty of visine dropper’s, would just talk about the

‘psychedelic soundscapes that are Phish 2003’, with these glazey eyes.

  14. Robear Says:

Neemor, don’t worry about us west coasters, re: TAB tour. We have Bob Weir to look forward to. 😉

  15. neemor Says:

    Shoulder of Pork?

BTW, the DOTD from PNC was a great show.
One of my fave Gin’s of all time.
Disease>Hood was fun and the Albuquerque H2 slot was cool.
    Good one.
That vid of Show Of Strife was hot.
    Good stuff.

  16. neemor Says:

    Bob Weir=Trey, right?

  17. Willowed Says:

    Ok boys,
I think I’ve navigated thru the troubled waters. Can’t wat for tonight.
Yesterdays seven below is balls deep!

  18. Leo Weaver Says:

Hey Robear…you guys do have another commodity that I’m quite envious of 😉

And lots of dank beer too.

  19. Mr. Completely Says:

I like each of those jams individually and they have a similar flavor so I thought if I ran em together it should work, that’s the basic idea behind any mix, right? It was just a little too…something

I heard Weir has been taking lessons from Yngwie Malmsteen and is going to pwn all our faces in March. Also, he shaved just the middle of the beard and now has enormous mutton chops.

  20. Mr. Completely Says:

    nah Leo

I didn’t like it, didn’t keep it. was all LP sbd stuff anyways

I still listen to those jams but I do it in the context of the shows, or just one at a time

a little goes a long way I guess

  21. Leo Weaver Says:

@Mr. C…is this mix you’re talking about posted on mediafire?

  22. Robear Says:

    @ leo, Trees?

    hustle trees, stay drunk

  23. Robear Says:

    @ C, a little too much
“What song is this anyway? When did the ‘song’ change?”

  24. Leo Weaver Says:

yep…big fat green ones. and redwoods.

  25. neemor Says:

“Also, he shaved just the middle of the beard and now has enormous mutton chops.”
    ^ uh huh.

Willowed, can you come out an play?
    Ask her.
    Seriously.
