Jam of the Day:

Mike’s > Horse > Silent” 10.29.96 II

This nugget of darkness finds Phish in Tallahassee, amidst their last set before Halloween ’96. Playing with Karl Perazzo, warming up for Remain In Light, the band sat into a thick “Houses In Motion” groove during “Mike’s” second jam.

Wow Mr. Miner, superb choice of photo up there! And mad ups to Mr. G(eorge?) Lucas for taking the photo!

Also, the reason I was poking my head back in during the paper writing process is to say that I have discovered I really like Backwards Down The Number Line. A lot.

That is all. I know everybody stopped what they were doing to hear that, so as you were! Carry on now…

look forward to spinning that download of the day tomorrow… love my 99s

  3. garretc Says:

Also, last summers Shoreline DWD is, as all reports have suggested, straight fire! Sick sick jam… And to think I could have been there, if I’d merely gone to the show and gotten a free ticket on the lot… The more you know!

  4. Uncle Ebeneezer Says:

That show was so fun, it was ck5’s birthday, trey sings something like “happy birthday, we’re gonna get you so wasted tonight”, light solo, haha.

Wow, Marshall brings up Karl P. as a sit-in, I say “have another,” and next night (day) he’s sitting in on the next JOTD in FL. I remember getting really excited that week, leading up to the NEXT weekends festivities in the midwest. Rupp Gin, Rupp Gin.

    What a board.

    Have a great Thursday, kids.

    PHiSH on…

Am I weird? Is anyone else feeling like an ass because they’ve put all their summer plans are on hold until summer dates gets released? Just for my own sanity, and without starting a fake dates thread, can someone post (re-post) the most recently reasonable rumoured dates at least first leg of summer tour is looking like? Thanks and good morning…

  8. neemor Says:

    Good morning, blackboard…
    :::yawning:::
Enjoy the JOTD, that Mike’s is “thick as a brick” to quote my pal Ian Anderson.

I feel like my regular (but impatiently excited) phishy self as I await tour dates and ignore all other requests to make summer plans.

In fact, it feels great to be a weird phish fan awaiting actual summer dates as opposed to being a post phish fan pretending to be a regular guy whose summer is already booked cause his band is no more.

    Morning all! 8)

  10. bhizzle Says:

    what up everybody

Do not feel weird. I am too holding my summer plans till I find out and Im pretty sure most on this board are in the same predicament.

Went on TM.com to see if any dates were erroneously posted (no) and saw a link for future purchasing of tickets to a “Phish Concert Movie”. Could that be the 3D? Why wouldn’t you sell them at the theaters if that is the case?

  11. c0wfunk Says:

I’ve gotten my family pretty much trained to wait until tourdates are out before they can expect me to plan summer visitations (and fall break, and holiday plans). Facebook has now created the intensely surreal reality that my mom is now clicking “I like this” when I get excited about new shows. A bit different from her thinking circa 1996 πŸ˜‰

  12. c0wfunk Says:

I’d love to see the recent list of rumored dates too if anyone has it handy

  13. SillyWilly Says:

    Morning, all!

the excitement for tour dates just keeps building….2010 will smoke!

  14. neemor Says:

    Morning, cow…
Guys, there isn’t an actual list per se,
Miner posted something yesterday that was a twitter pic someone had taken of a proposed list…
No idea what page, but it’s there.
I would say hold tight, still nothing concrete besides this Greek>Red Rocks>Telluride run.
We’ve also heard Camden and Hershey from a solid source.
Other than that, it’s up in the air.

Saw Alice yesterday (3D), no PH trailer.

The only plans I’ve made thus far are to try to make a trip to CO happen…and possibly a trip down south to see Leo Weaver…other than that, I’m sure there’ll be plenty of East Coast dates to satisfy me…

  15. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    c0wfunk! where you been, dude?

    mornin’ all!

  16. gavinsdad Says:

    what up c0w…

gonna let some other folks post the permutations of summer dates…i have no comment til next week ;P

i booked my familys week at the jersey shore to get a stake in the ground (july 17-24), i have the god street shows in nyc july 9 & 10, and a wedding Aug 6 in philly. i will build up the rest of my summer around phish. which, in actuality, probably means a couple dates on the east and hopefully one westerly trip. i can’t get too greedy in Summer and i also have to get Fall in too. i got 8 last year which i think is damn good for a husband and father of 3.

i’ve never said it before but…PHiSH on!

  17. gavinsdad Says:

seriously tho….my wife and i had our quarterly sit down on the couch last nite to compare datebooks thru May/June. I said “other than the stuff I mentioned above I am waiting for Phish dates to drop”. She said, “do you have stuff you’re sitting on that you want me to know about?” (in my head i said you mean Mtn. Jam, Furthur in Brooklyn, GOTV, and like 6 phish shows including Telluride?) I said, “ummm…No….but if Phish does the Gorge i’d like to go back there”. heh.

  18. c0wfunk Says:

    Hello all πŸ™‚

I’ve been ridiculously busy the last few months (a good thing!), and have been listening to a ton of grateful dead, so it’s all kept me away from the blackboard here, as I find if I come by here in the morning it is hard to get much done the rest of the day. When somebody paid me to waste time that worked out just fine, but now I have to keep sharp on that kind of thing or I find myself broke pretty quick..

In the absence of any other more reliably sourced rumors, a friend tossed me these yesterday, from unknown origins:
6/16 charlotte, 17 raliegh, 18-19 atl, 21-22 hampton .. he had deer creek and alpine following the next week I believe

some friends have a place in telluride booked but I’m not sure we’re going to make the trip so I’m really counting on a nice southern swing to get my phish love this summer..

  19. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

I’ve got the family vacation on the jersey shore too (late June for us), but I’m hoping it coincides with Camden. other than that, I’m holding out for dates!

  20. c0wfunk Says:

neemor what did you think of alice? My wife was telling me some wild stories she’d heard last night. Is it a little creepy?

  21. Angryjoggerz Says:

I too have put my summer plans on hold, including consideration of taking a new job. I feel like a dork.

  22. Brimley Says:

Sick picture of Red Rocks…! I used to play out the Meat>my friend>left toe>whipping post constantly back in the day…Great way to start a show!!

  23. Halden Says:

Anyone take a listen to the Gordo shows available? Any recommendatins?

  24. jdub Says:

Great to here from you Cow,

I don’t have plans for the summer other than possible phish dates. We vacate in the fall and summer is my busiest time of year. I’m looking to plan a western run at one venue(becoming a long shot), east cost fest, and whatever local shows I can swing. I do feel a bit in limbo, would like to tell clients when I won’t be around.

  25. purplehumpbackwhale Says:

im surprised the dates weren’t completely leaked like fall tour and some of summer was… i remember seeing phish @ msg 12/2-3-4/09 on alist months before they actually announced fall tour.

i guess it’s all the same – i just hope they do another 3 nights at Jones beach but i highly doubt they will πŸ™
