silly: reading your stuff from last night, very interesting. To offer an answer to your question — can i make $ doing good — no. You will make the most $ by sacrificing part of your soul. so decide now, money/spiritual depletion or low funds/spiritual enrichment.

  2. kayatosh Says:

    as an attorney.

  3. kayatosh Says:

@mr. c: “agree with jdub that activities like yoga, tai chi or qi gong are often easier entries to meditation for highly intellectual people, compared to sitting meditation, which is kind of the deep end for that sort of person: “ok, stop thinking…now!” um…”

you are correct. the practice of yoga postures and yogic breathing techniques were originally intended to prepare the body and mind for seated meditation.

  4. Robear Says:

    llfa@ kaya.

    the thin gray line.

    what about the rich guru’s?

    sorry, bad joke.

silly, spring training. tour’s coming fast!

  5. zzyzx Says:

The drive to Vail from Las Cruces was HORRIBLE. I hit this freak ice storm near Santa Fe that led to about a foot thick coating of ice on the bottom of my car. Then when I finally got to I-70, there was a suicidal dog on the freeway. I tried to get out of his way but then he jumped in front of my car 🙁

I did 10 shows that spring and to be honest, this one was kind of smack in the middle… didn’t make too many impressions. Loved the town though.

  6. fat bastard Says:

what up peps? anyone hate live nation as much as i do? the fees are a f#^kin joke!

  7. kayatosh Says:

zzyzx: you’re safe now. sometimes shit gets real weird. thankfully the weird storm usually subsides.

  8. Robear Says:

zzyzx, great story. I live near a large reservation. Lots of suicidal dogs hanging in the streets. Luckily, a little warm for ice storms.

  9. Robear Says:

    yes @ FB

not many things to hate on. ticketnation = 1 of them

12/30/2009 FREE — huge! mike drops neutron bass bombs.

time to go outside. peace out, yall. on no, boogie on, boogie lope? i got stay here for this.

  11. zzyzx Says:

    I would hope it’s safe now… 1993 was a while ago 🙂

  12. kayatosh Says:

mike’s awesome bass-tacular acrobatics for the last 2 and half minutes of boogie on alone could make 12/30 show of the year. the beginning of antelope just sounds like a hot mess to me, like somebody prematurely pulled the rip cord on boogie on. then trey rips the boogie on riff to seal it and then they pull together. incredible.

  13. Mr.Miner Says:

Birthday weekend for Miner. Tomorrow is the day….its gorgeous out! Enjoy the days folks!

  14. kayatosh Says:

miner: happy birthday. many more. and thanks for this sweet site.

  15. SillyWilly Says:

@Kayatosh: Thanks for the input. I won’t fall to the dark side.

    @Robear

My spring training has gone well. Feeling pretty good for the season. Hoping to have a bust-out year. Got the rookie jitters out of my system.

    @Miner:

Have a great birthday weekend! enjoy the weather.

  16. Robear Says:

kaya, of the shows I saw, 12/30 = favorite from top to bottom in ’09.

The communal gasp when they extended the ‘GBOTT’ into open jamming space was like a tension release for the ages.

  17. Robear Says:

nice Miner. Send me an email with your address, eh? I spaced it.

Happy Birthday, the heavens are smiling on you.

Which shows you hitting, leg 1. Any decisions, yet?

  18. Mr.Miner Says:

    leg i I’ll be there.

  19. kayatosh Says:

@robear: yep, 12/30’s a jaw dropper and a brain magnet.
@silly: invariably, we all have to do stuff we don’t want to do or don’t care for or are down right opposed to, but maybe someday you can call your own shots and not have to practice bs to make $ to pay back loans you took out to learn the bs game. do good, and don’t spend more than you can afford, including taking out student loans. debt is a killer. it makes you beholden to blood suckers. bleh.

  20. Robear Says:

    whole run?

wife of the year? yours wins 🙂

looks like last 4 for me. Early June is just too busy. Would love to hit Blossom > Hershey, but bad timing.

Camden > MPP if I’m really lucky. I feel like those places could use the Waterwheel influx more than anywhere. Will keep you posted. Silly Willy will have to man the Waterwheel meet-ups at Toyota and Blossom.

  21. Robear Says:

^it sounds simplistic, but Kaya is dead on regarding debt.

I’m out for now. disc golf weather. gonna’ improve some of the holes.

  22. kayatosh Says:

robear: please come to camden. you’ve got a friend ion PA (the official state motto) and as you said, the camden scene could use a spiritual lift.

  23. (Formally Known As) BrandonKayda Says:

Have a great Birthday Weekend Miner!

I hope you end up going to MPP Robear, I’ll hit up the Waterwheel for sure

  24. kayatosh Says:

a friend in PA, that should be. and yes, you can crash at my pad.

  25. SillyWilly Says:

I love feeling involved with the WW meet ups!

I will be at Toyota and Blossom.

    @kayatosh

ive found your comments about debt to be dead on.

I accrued a ton of debt in undergrad and now Im faced with the reality that I might have to take a job I don’t necessarily like in order to pay it all off. The worst part is my dad co-signed some of my loans, and so Im responsible for some of his credit, too.

The good news is Obama has been great about offering loan forgiveness packages for lawyers who work for the government. I want to be a public defender and apparently if I work for the government and make my minimum payments for 10 years, the government will assume the rest of my debt. a great deal, the only problem is everyone else will be competing for those jobs, too.
