    do you teach?

  2. Chuck D Says:

how will they overcome the “reefer madness” stupidity?

i would just compare it to a group of rowdy drunk people… i know may say stupid shit while I’m high, but i partake in waaaaay stupider shit when i’m drunk.

  3. Phamily Berzerker Says:

No, my brother’s wife does I have some friends who do too.

I am a parent of an 8 and 6 year old so this has dramatic impact on their education.

    on Religion and sacraments.

Next time anyone has a free weekend in AZ

    @Chuck
I meant the negative attacks (i.e. scare tactics to the uninformed) more than people who can’t take their smoke, but your point is valid!

so i actually found where to buy the tix online. they are 14.50 in brooklyn.

neemor, you coming? want a link?

“anyone know why my old firewire cord (shipped with early iPods) will charge my iPhone (both via the wall and via the computer) but doesn’t “connect” with iTunes?”

^ the iphone does not have firewire capability. its a different connection inside the device to transfer information with firewire. i’d suggest not charging with firewire either because it pushes more power than the iphone needs and can fry the port.

word berzerker, my sister and mom are teachers. the most underpaid profession out there, depending on the age level i guess. sad thing is that there are alot of bad teachers who probably hate their jobs and are miserable, giving a bad name to the smaller amount of truly inspired, giving teachers….now if all teachers were phans like us enlightened BB’ers, the education system would be golden!

  7. Mitch Says:

maybe i should buy them all up and start scalping on craigslist. eh guys? eh?

The best way to combat the reefer madness is to have people open up about it. It’s like with the gay rights movement, people who actually know a gay person are much more accepting of homosexuality than those who don’t. Same with marijuana use. If you know a “stoner” who is doing something with their life, making money, being responsible, etc. then you’re much less likely to buy into all the reefer madness bull shit.

Andrew Sullivan, writer for the Atlantic Monthly and legalization proponent had a running feature on his blog The Daily Dish (on the Atlantic Monthly webiste), where anonymous readers emailed in to “come out of the cannabis closet”, so there were doctors, teachers, lawyers, you name it. Really interesting stuff, definitely worth checking out.

The problem being that it’s not legal yet, so it’s hard to admit… But that’s really what needs to happen.

  9. Mr.Palmer Says:

@kenny powere- your in the radiology business, correct? X-ray tech i believe. How much schooling did it take to get certified for that. Thinking of making a career change, and yours is one i’m considering. Thanks for the input.

  10. Mitch Says:

If they use drunks as an excuse that they are worse than stoners then were gonna get our booze outlawed too. Prohibition round 2.

  11. Mitch Says:

    Palmer,
you might also be interested to know if he has to wear an xray cup all day as well. Unless I’m a catcher in the MLB, I don’t wanna wear a cup to work.

If I’m going to come into Brooklyn, I won’t know it until April 19.
Then I’ll call and see if they have tickets.
Or, since the engagement is a week-long run, I’ll come later on in the week when demand is a little less.

    Mmm….Demand.

  14. Mitch Says:

I just wanted 4/20 opening night goodness.

Let’s hope it opens at IMAX and I’ll go with you.

  15. spacephunk Says:

thinkin’ about hitting up SPAC for the first time…any recommendations for good places to stay?

just realized that is a sat/sun show..could pull that coming out from west coast

  16. ohhphee Says:

    @TIII

One great argument would be to point out the violence associated with gang activity. NOT pot use in general, but the black market that springs up as a result of prohibition. Kinda like the gangster days in the 20s and 30s. I know weed isn’t the only thing gangbangers sell, but it’s def a huge factor.

I’m not talking about farmers – they are not the problem. I know gangs aren’t a problem everywhere, but it is a growing problem. No pun intended.llfa

  17. kenny powers Says:

    lol Mitch,

no we don’t wear an “x-ray cup”. we stay behind a lead-lined wall, and for any portable x-rays or operating room procedures, we are decked out in lead vests and thyroid shields.

Palmer – the most common schooling is a 2-year associates at a comm college. The quality of the programs vary widely…depends alot on which clinical sites and hospitals they have arrangements with, among other things.

I did a pretty rare program , first of its kind back in 2004 – it was an accelerated, 17-month post-baccalaureate certificate program. didn’t result in a a degree but got me the radiography certification required.

and finally there are a few 4-year bachelor’s programs out there. Quinnipiac in CT has one of the best around.

  18. kenny powers Says:

aight kids, i’m out. have a good night all.

  19. Phamily Berzerker Says:

    Indeed KP

Good Teachers are the way out for this country but not everyone sees that clearly. Couple that with the few bad apples/not my job attitude and we are on a slippery slope.

  20. Mr.Palmer Says:

spacephunck- stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in saratoga last year. It was fine, a little far from venue is only complaint.

    – Staying at the Saratoga Downtowner Motel this year $159 a night, only 2 miles from venue. Not as nice though. Most places i saw there are very nice. Its a beautiful little town.

  21. Mitch Says:

7.30.03 is so money. If you haven’t heard that scents go do it already. Recently got the Pollock from that show I’d been looking for forever.
