on a cold day, after a long run…
bangers & mash + stout. mmmmmm.

  2. DukeOfLizards Says:

Is it me or is the second set basically another first set?

  3. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    there’s your closer

  4. Mitch Says:

maybe its the 11:15 of 11:30 curfew

  5. [An Unrelated] Wilson Says:

    love the taste/theme combo.

  6. GOOCHY Says:

That 2nd set isn’t so bad in my eyes. There’s a bunch of stuff I like in that one.

  7. voopa Says:

went upstairs and had a smoke

  8. Mitch Says:

    heavy things > tweeprize?

  9. Mr. Completely Says:

“I’m still not sold on that new pedal….makes trey sound out of tune alot of times”

the point is definitely to bend the notes out of what is “in tune” without actually taking the strings out of tune, that’s the whole idea…

I totally get not being into this sound but I 1) love it and 2) suspect it’s a big part of the current sound and is here to stay in some form

  10. BrandonKayda Says:

    Heavy Things encore

I like how strange this set is.

  11. BrandonKayda Says:

Trey has used that little loop right at the start of the Heavy Things jam a whole lot tonight

  12. Mr. Completely Says:

basically the questions about this set can only be answered in the listening

is there enough meat in the seven below and 46 days? both have shown rockin’ “small jam” potential before

is there a big enough late 2nd set peak in taste/theme to pay off the set energetically?

    simple/2001 is obviously dancetastic

    could go either way easily

  13. Mr. Completely Says:

heavy things took a step up in 09 but as solo encore? not sure about that

  14. BrandonKayda Says:

    First Tube

  15. Mitch Says:

tube – 1st tube sandwich. i’ll take it

  16. Daniel J Says:

gotta love 1st tube, great way to end a show

  17. Mr. Completely Says:

    there you go

love this tune as an encore

  18. ChefBradford Says:

So what HAVEN’T they played in these shows?

Must be up to about 80 tunes by now, including the new ones

  19. Mitch Says:

is simple available to play on the from the road already?

  20. kayatosh Says:

wow! strange phish show there on paper.

anyone notice how there have been no true bustouts other than debuts, which are not bustouts anyway? curtis loew and oh kee pa were the closest thing to bustouts (played once each in early 09), but every other tune was played in December or November.

  21. BrandonKayda Says:

The Seven Below had a big peak and the 46 Days got really dark and evil before they left it for the new Mike tune.

This will definitely be a controversial set – I’m wondering if they planned this intentionally, just to throw everybody off as to what show will be a rager or not. I respect it in that way. There were definitely some good spots in that second set. I guess the first set suggested way too much for the second set. You never know with Phish 3.0

  22. Halden Says:

    @Mitch

Looks like it but i haven’t clicked

  23. kayatosh Says:

    tweeprise to close?

  24. Mitch Says:

me either. not leaving the stream

  25. Mitch Says:

tripple encore kaya? i would have thought tweeprize then first tube to keep the sandwich.
