Deer Creek '00 (Distante)

Following up the last two downloads, this show completes Phish’s three-night run at Deer Creek in 2000. The second set featured, perhaps, the three most-often payed songs of summer in “Jibboo, “Sand,” and “Twist.” The strong playing of the second set continued with “Fee > What’s the Use? > Limb.”

I: Cars Trucks Buses , Wilson, It’s Ice, Bathtub Gin, Buffalo Bill, My Mind’s Got a Mind of its Own, Split Open and Melt, Sparkle, Funky Bitch, David Bowie

II: Gotta Jibboo, Sand, Twist, Fee > What’s the Use? > Limb By Limb, Loving Cup

E: Run Like an Antelope

  5. Gratefulcub Says:

    Thanks for the jazz ramblin. Big John Patton is the man.

  6. voidboy Says:

    I bet if we did a “Poll” we’d find the “Mean age” far older than the youth would suspect.

  7. neemor Says:

    Hey all.

    Everyone amped for leg II?

  8. Gratefulcub Says:

    I love it when 35 doesn’t feel old! Now get off my lawn

  9. garretc Says:

    @voidboy

    As a member of “the youth”, I respectfully disagree with your statement. I know there’s a bunch o’ lame ass old timers hanging around!

    “where the theatrics/costuming/kook vibe has been marketed and the art/cosmic warrior/DIY/gonzo part has been marginalized by time going by and the Cheese injection.”

    yep, gotcha

    very astute insight

  11. Gratefulcub Says:

  12. neemor Says:

  15. garretc Says:

    @neemor

    Several people posted the setlist last page

  16. Mr. Completely Says:

    yo whos got my hetty setlist, brah?

  17. neemor Says:

    Thanks garret…

    I feel like I’m in the eighth dimension.

    The one where time stops and movies are watched that were produced in the early eighties.

  18. voidboy Says:

    @Geriatric,

    No I totally get it. The old timers set the tone (and the pace) the youth run off ahead… “trail blazing”, only to find we’re heading back from the uncharted realms “they’re discovering”. Pace yourself. Enjoy the ride, and keep your smile. In the end, the trouble ain’t worth the time.

  19. neemor Says:

    Fall ’99 tour was the goods.

  20. neemor Says:

    Sleep tight all.

  21. sanchothehutt Says:

    the only thing I worry about i.e. Dead cover, will be that instead of taking it for what it is *if it indeed happens* people will still bitch that they didn’t cover the “right” dead song.

    The way I go into this is, if they drop a dead tune, whata treat. If they don’t, Phish alone is plenty of treat. Chill out and have a good time WCoasters. I wish you all the best in the coming nights!!!!!!!

  22. sanchothehutt Says:

    ^yes, fall 99 was awe inspiring.

  23. RamblinOnMyMind Says:

    No problem @cub! And yes, Big John Patton is the man. That album has a great lineup: Grant Green on guitar, Bobby Hutcherson on vibes, Patton on hammond B3 and otis finch on drums (ok, i don’t really know anything about Otis Finch but I didn’t want to leave him off the list).

  24. Mr. Completely Says:

    if they cover any Dead song other than Money Money, it means Trey hates me personally

  25. Gratefulcub Says:

    8th not 5th, you are correct sir. Either way, a good time.
