Deer Creek '00 (Distante)

Following up the last two downloads, this show completes Phish’s three-night run at Deer Creek in 2000. The second set featured, perhaps, the three most-often payed songs of summer in “Jibboo, “Sand,” and “Twist.” The strong playing of the second set continued with “Fee > What’s the Use? > Limb.”

I: Cars Trucks Buses , Wilson, It’s Ice, Bathtub Gin, Buffalo Bill, My Mind’s Got a Mind of its Own, Split Open and Melt, Sparkle, Funky Bitch, David Bowie

II: Gotta Jibboo, Sand, Twist, Fee > What’s the Use? > Limb By Limb, Loving Cup

E: Run Like an Antelope

If Phil takes the stage at some point (an obvious choice), I would really like to see it take the form of an open-jam segment rather than standard fare. This in my opinion would satisfy both schools as well as elevate and evolve the continuing work put forth to furthur the species of music as a whole.

did you ever solve the riddle of the watermelon in the hydraulic press, @cub?

known only to the true Hong Kong Cavaliers

  3. voidboy Says:

Seeing them cover a “Dead” tune would be awesome indeed. A tease or two would be fine for sure… A “Scents and Subtle Sounds” with a nice little segue into (Viola Lee Blues) would be sweetness…

  4. Mr. Completely Says:

easily my favorite aspect of that movie is the fact that Peter Weller never realized he was in a comedy.

it’s like the opposite of Starship Troopers, where Neil Patrick Harris was the only one of the cast who understood the movie they were in

in Buckaroo Banzai, everyone in it plainly gets it except the lead actor

    deeply hilarious to me

  12. garretc Says:

I think as tribute to the Dead Phish should just take a really long time between songs at the Greek

  13. YborCity Says:

If anything Dead happens, I think it’ll be something simple. They already did the epic dead cover with Terrapin. I’d love to see something like Possum > GDTRFB > Possum.

    I’ll take a Dark Star though…

  14. RamblinOnMyMind Says:

I hope they invite Bobby out to play some slide

  17. Gratefulcub Says:

Don’t take this as a shot at the dead, it’s a props to fishman. Fish does more with one kit than they did with two. He amazes me.

  18. Gratefulcub Says:

  23. garretc Says:

I’m up BK, even though Gcub’s paternal instincts keeps trying to tuck me in to bed!

Don’t worry Gcub, it’s only 22:20 here on the best coast! I’m not due to sleep for another 3 or 4 hours!

  24. Gratefulcub Says:

Working 13 hour days Joe. It’s either give up sleep or leisure time. I’ll take my headphones, I will sleep when I’m dead

  25. joe Says:

How’s the keyboard playing going Brandon? find anyone to jam with? Is there any kind of music program at your school that you’d play in?
