@beantown – I’m not really as football minded as some on here but I can say that the Eagles are my team and I am now on the Kolb/vick train (coff) and I really do wanna see McNabb crash and burn down there in DC. Never liked the Skins. It’d be just like McNabb to rally your skins this year. BastArd.

Watching Black Crowes on DirecTv101 reminds me of an observation I made many years ago:

    1) Many Black Crowes songs are about heroin (“light the candle/cuz I’m off the handle” isn’t really a veiled reference).

    2) Many Blind Melon songs are about heroin (could quote if you need specifics but its in there).

I could go on but this isn’t nearly as interesting as I used to think. Rocknrollers like the H, so what?

As a bengals fan, this opening day is more upbeat than most. We are usually mathmstically eliminated from the post season by week 3 of the preseason.

Down with the patriots. Brady is going to be easy to chase today, weighed down with $19M in his pockets.

  10. Themanatee Says:

Yeah dude that denard Robinson is the most fun player to watch since Vince young. He could go to the house at any second

Good morning everyone! I was able to get tickets to every night in Broomfield yesterday on TicketHorse. So while my Halloween extra is spoken for. I still have an extra for Maine and the 29th that I’m looking to trade for the first night of Broomfield; for my friends. Please let me know. My email is on the exchange board.

@GDAD, I dont really understand the hate towards McNabb? Whenever healthy he came out to play, and was constantly very good and took you guys to a super bowl. He always handled the fans and media in a classy way and the organization chose to trade him to the Skins and stayed very quiet in the process. He could have easily blasted the organization for treating him like that and going with Kolb. I personally hopes he crushes the Eagles this year…

  13. Robear Says:

so, are you cats ready for some FOOTBELL!

GC, that Louisville show is nice.

T.O. and Ochocinco collide at mid-field, bump heads and are knocked out cold.

  14. Mr.Palmer Says:

OldSkool- Your dealing with Philly fans. There is no logic or rationale behind anything the do or say. They intentionally vomit on little girls for crying out loud. Analysis is futile.

    I still love ya Gdad… 🙂

First phish experiences came from my a friend and my brother who would play live shows in the car . Couldn’t really wrap myhead around it but certain quirky lyrics would get stuck in my head , “bag it, tag it” , “Suzy Greenberg” sounded like somegirl I had gone to school with , “Harry – we do you go ?l” that type of thing. My brother started to get heavily into them and I kept on resisting because I wanted to be my own dog. Freshman year of college I bought rift and Billy breathes and really enjoyed the albums , I think having been a huge narnia fan made me really connect to caspian. I was living in London after my freshman year and phish was touring Europe and was literally playing around the corner from my house at royal Albert hall. Walked there and fell in love . Called my brother and asked him to get me tickets to Pittsburgh and Darien and had major epiphanies during both shows – especially the Darien hood. Decided there was no way I could miss the went and that drive from Darien to the went solidified how gorgeous this adventure can be.

Nice Manatee… you hitting any shows this run?

    @ Robear

Both of their heads are so big that a collision is inevitable…… I think they should have a half-time dance-off.

If you end up having any extras, I need 2 for each night – for me and my slf, but i’ll take whatever you can spare – i figure i can piece it together – thanks! 🙂

@Oldschool: let me clarify my position a little bit since you make decent points. It’s not that i’m a rabid, nutjob, voodoo doll carrying phila fan. I’ve watched this team for the past 12 years pretty darn closely. It still hasn’t made me a football scholar unfortunately so give me a little slack.

McNabb (post knee, post rib, post sports hernia) can play, is a wise leader, and, beyond the TO year or two, had teammate allegiance. I don’t agree that he was as consistent as you say, and that, for the rational Eagles fans around me, is our sticking point. Every week our problem in front of the TV was the psychological ball that the Eagles play, and when McNabb isn’t on point in the 1st quarter, you can be sure that the game will follow suit. He had a solid half dozen weapons any given season, and when he spread the football around, and mixed run and pass, he was ok to damn good. (let’s skip over the reid vs morningweg play calling…another subject for another day). But I had hope for mcnabb in both small and big games, and depending on his mindset on a particular day, one could almost predict the outcome of the games. many of our playoff reaches were lucky the past 3 years….and the scrappiness of the Eagles only came out once we made wild card or better.

so my main point was simply that i have to sever ties immediately with mcnabb, i need to support my new QB(s), and i have to wish pain and suffering on a team (skins) that i never rooted for even when it was riggins and/or theisman eras. I personally don’t think that McNabb has the sack for a Super Bowl run this year and I, like Robear many days, will eat some crow in Jan if he proves me wrong.

(don’t think i don’t know that Aaron Rodgers is coming to town in a few hours…i’m not that deluded).

Pats Bengals should be an interesting opener today.

Going to watch the 1 PM games at my buddy’s house who is a huge Carolina fan. Today I’m a Carolina fan too.

  24. gavinsdad Says:

^and Oldskool just so i know where you’re coming from…are you a Skins supporter or do you have another team?

  25. Jtran Says:

GD’s kid knows more about football than he does.
