Lions got f’ed. Watch the replay for a true explanation. Defies words.

  2. Jtran Says:

    Wow, that was a TD.

  3. Jtran Says:

    Just saw replay on CBS

  4. Robear Says:

apparently there’s a new rule that applies to receptions. Calvin Johnson caught ball in end zone, landed on his back, rolled over, with complete control, then basically set the ball down and stood up.

No touchdown. ‘Did not complete the process’

which is a fucking joke. you can run into the end zone, and as soon as you cross the plane of the line, you can drop the ball, fumble it, throw into the stands, and it doesn’t matter, play is over the second you have possession in the end zone.

but if you catch the ball in the end zone, the play extends well past the act of catching, possessing and landing in bounds.

    complete phuck for the fans.

    @KWL – lemonwheel indeed.

  6. albert walker Says:

    Nfl is a joke

    Can’t touch QB’s helmets now

  7. Mr.Palmer Says:

That was a catch. just because he had it in one hand doesn’t mean he didn’t have possession.

  8. Jtran Says:

    What do you guys think..

I have 2 Amherst2 GAs, some guy with a 10/31 (that he advertised but won’t get ride of) wants to trade me 3 Amherst reserveds and 20 bucks for my 2 GAs.

I only need 2 tickets that night..are these selling well? I could sell the extra ticket for face and have 20 bucks, and have in essence 90 more dollars to throw at a 10/31 ticket.

Just seems a bit too convoluted.

  9. vegas wolfmans Says:

Any way you cut it, Coral Sky 11/2/96 is one hot fucking show.

  10. Mr.Palmer Says:

Jtran- seems a little much. I wouldn’t do it. Keep your eye on the prize. 10.31

  11. Robear Says:

no doubt VW. dropped that on some kids yesterday. ‘cross-a-lope’ may have been their first exposure to Phish. From your neck of the woods actually. Near Seattle.

  12. butter Says:

Even as die hard Bears fan,

I gotta say Robear, that was as much of a touchdown by Calvin Johnson
    As you’ll ever see

Sucks about Stafford, but Hill looked ok

  13. Mr.Palmer Says:

Was it ruled a TD on field, then overturned?

  14. Jtran Says:

Yea, thinking it over more without tickets in hand it doesn’t seem worth the hassle. I’ve got an email in to Aquaman, waiting to hear back.

  15. butter Says:

No, ruled on field after refs met and talked about it, that he lost possession, no catch

  16. Robear Says:

@ palmer, one ref ruled touchdown, then was over ruled.

Butter, they must have changed the rules this year re: catches. unreal.

the guys were NOT helping Shaun Hill. He did look fine. Several drops, turrible line play.

like i said, life of a Lions fan.

  17. butter Says:

But yea initial touchdown call by one ref

  18. Runaway Jim Says:

Anyone seen a show from behind? What’s it like?

  19. Mr.Palmer Says:

Replay didn’t over rule it? I just saw the replay ( wasn’t listening to volume, got 4.16.99 going instead 🙂 ) didn’t hear explanation.

  20. Jtran Says:

I’ve got one of the Fest 8 archive broadcasts going. 12/31/99 Split right now.

  21. Mr.Palmer Says:

Runaway- a few times. Not my preference but its not that bad if your close. Sound is better than you’d imagine. Cool perspective. You see what the band sees.

  22. Robear Says:

no, replay did not over rule it. Mike Schwaigerra was there explaining in tongues as well.

Runaway, behind the stage has several pluses:

more space, chiller ushers, really happy crowd with many green crew kids that get the *huck down.

negative? sound a bit less full, vocals less clear, in most cases.

  23. oldskool Says:

how serious is the Stafford injury? I didnt see it

  24. Robear Says:

^ oh, and I go there quite a bit, especially places like Miami, MSG, any large basketball / hockey arena. I usually don’t have a hard ticket, and there’s way less hassle back there.

  25. oldskool Says:

@Runaway, it can be a cool perspective to sit up behind Fishman and watch him work
