Is there a worse / tackier coach than Singletary? With his combo Flavor Flav / Christian monk look. He’s in over his head. Big time.

“I feel you Silly. i’ve had a sinus headache going on 12 days now. Pretty sure I’ve tried everything, but willing to take any suggestions from this knowledgeable board. Like Groundhog Day in my skull.”

Me too. I found the only thing that helps in my cases is Guinness.

just so happens, it is the “how to” of the day.

I was rooting for Sigletary but if they don’t turn things around in a hurry he’s gonna be gone before the year ends.

  7. JMelby Says:

Netti pot. (not sure of spelling) Really great for clearing out sinus. Basically a small tea pot looking device that holds about a cup of water. Add 1/4 tsp salt and warm up water before using. Then you tilt your head over a sink, put it up one nostril and start to slowly pour. Do the same with other nose. You’ll clean everything out in a couple tries.
It’s pretty crazy the first time you do it, and you might have to re-adjust you head.
Give it a try, it’s been used for 100’s of years.

    re: Sinus Headaches

I’ve been pretty susceptible my whole life for whatever reason. When ever the weather changes quickly, my head goes nuts.

The doctors told me that the inside of your dome is like the skin on your hands. It has little fissures and cracks. These fissures and cracks expand and contract with the atmospheric pressure.

If you don’t have any liquid from like a cold or allergies then often the best things I’ve found is hot water right on my head or boil a pot of water and try to keep your head over the steam as long as possible. The heat is soothing, kind of like getting in a hot tub when you have sore muscles.

If nothing else works, 3 aleve usually does the trick for me.

If however you have a cold and the liquid in your head is filling your sinuses, you have to be careful because your sinuses will prune like the skin on your hands. When this happens the liquid can get trapped and thats how you get sinus infections.

The trick then is to make the liquid as thin as possible so it can drain out (sorry, I know its gross), by 1. Drinking a ton of water and 2. taking decongestants.

The hot water should also relax the fissures in your head, so try that too.

I have found that drinking alcohol or coffee with a sinus headache only makes things worse because it dehydrates and water in these situations is your best friend.

    ^^^What Jmelby said.

    flush that shit out.

  10. BingosBrother Says:

    thanks all. Good luck silly.

Pretty sure I’ve tried everything, but willing to take any suggestions from this knowledgeable board.

    have you tried trepanning?

seriously though, the neti pot works. my wife has sinus stuff related to allergies and uses one frequently. I choose to not watch, but I am told it works wonders. plus there’s a ton of youtube videos of people doing it, if you are into that sort of thing.

  12. Rivertrance Says:

Good morning BB. Finally scored some Phish Broomfield tickets to go with the benefit tickets that I purchased. How perfect a weekend if I get my dream jam session of Trey sitting in with SCI and then catching 3 nights of Phish with a strong possibility of a Kang sit-in IMO. Everything pointing towards an absolutely epic fall tour.
    Have a good one.

  13. Guyute711 Says:

Niners offensive coordinator fired!! The shit winds are blowing in SF.

  14. SillyWilly Says:

    @TypeIII

    not gonna lie.

i’ve laid on my bed with a feeling like my head is going to explode and thought:

Maybe those trepanners were on to something.

  15. lastwaltzer Says:

don’t have a source but I’ve heard those neti pots actually spread bacteria.

  16. EL Duderino Says:

For those doing the beach house for Charleston, SC.

Time to get those checks in the mail fellas!!!

    Seriously

  17. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

I don’t think that possibility is as strong as you may think it is, rivertrance. I think phish will get the sit-in bug out of their system on the 9th and then unleash the full power of the phish from vermont the following three nights straight with no chaser.

  18. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    @waltzer
yeah, if you don’t clean them between uses!

  19. lastwaltzer Says:

I hear phish is only introducing the bands, not sitting it. They’ll be like MCs if you will. 😉

  20. JP Says:

anyone need to unload 2-4 for 10/23 for face + fees?

  21. Leo Weaver Says:

Second the netti pot recommendations…kinda gross concept but it really does feel good. Makes the least mess in the shower.

Also, if you have allergy-related issues try Aller-Ease. It looks like someone put grass in a blender then bottled it up…but it works amazingly well. One shot in the morning and no worries…head clears up in about 15 minutes.

  22. Robear Says:

G7111, I was rooting for Singletary too, for no other reason than his good ole’ days. As a coach, he is:

    Paranoid
    Un-prepared
    Un-organized
    Out of balance

If they don’t clean house before seasons end…..

Congrats @ Rivertrance. Colorado is a great place to see Phish shows with the Brah’s of the world. Bring your flat brim hat and LRG gear.

  23. halcyon Says:

    Robear

Are you sure you are not talking about the Giants?

  24. Mitch Says:

    dr p,

  25. Robear Says:

halcy, seems like Coughlin has lost the team. At least he had them once!

Their d-line is a shell of it’s former self. Whatever they got jacked up on for the SB against the Pats, seems to have shortened all their careers. Does Tuck still play in the league?
