Right on butter…a guitar came here for Xmas…all 3 kids have been diggin

  2. butter Says:

nice GD, Gavin just turned 8 this week right? Alanna is 8, hopefully i get some “built in baby sitter action” if we expand the fam

    let there be music

  3. Gavinsdad Says:

Yeah he’s 8 today. Dude picked up a new 20″ bmx bike as he and his bro outgrew their 16 inchers. Hope they have fun with it. Also, we want to have a family band and I trawl craigslist for electronic drumkits…I wanna do that cause you can keep the volume low on them and still have a blast. At retail they are still too cost prohibitive (says the guy who spent shiotloads on Phish in 2010)

  4. Lumpyhead Says:

    Winter is bullsh.

  5. butter Says:

    Happy B’d Day Gavin!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. butter Says:

those electronic drum kits are dope, my buddy also has the one you wear like a guitar, with the little finger pads, makes all kinda sounds

  7. ae Says:

happy bday gavin. go eagles. big w for jets. 🙂

  8. butter Says:

that victory was as huge as Rex himself (kudos for him loosing 100lbs or whatever …keep it up Rexy)

Ok. Just gave the MSG Tweezer the first headphone listen since being in the building. I guess my ears are not as well trained as others, but I am having trouble understanding why this isn’t being universally accepted as a great Tweezer. The interplay between Trey and Page when it drops out of the Tweez-funk section into open jamming is incredible to these ears. Plenty creative. Mike drops dope bass bomb lines throughout and of course Fish is holding it down. I know Miner wasn’t all that enthralled with this jam and it seems that others weren’t either. To my ears it’s gold. The subsequent Light doesn’t quite make it to where they were pushing and they bailed on it, but I guess that’s just gonna happen sometimes. It didn’t ruin the set for me though and I still think 12/30 set II deserves more credit.

Happy B-Day Gavin and congrats to Butter on the family-expansion plans! We’ve got an (almost) 3 yr old and no plans to expand in the immediate future, but some time in the next couple years probably.

Wife and I have decided that the boy is now gonna make the multi-night Phish runs with us and we will alternate shows whiule the other entertains the little guy. Web broadcasts from the boys will make this plan much sweeter. Not ideal, but we just miss him too much when we leave him behind and long-term babysitting options have dwindled bc her mom got sick with the big C. And, since neither of us party at all anymore it feels right. Booked a room and Hampton and put the plan together for July 4 at Watkins Glen. Both plans include him. Parent tour.

Taking steps to move into the wife’s parents house to help caring for her mom in the next month or so. Got me a storage unit/man-cave for all of our stuff. Interesting times… Makes us appreciate what we have. The 20 show years are over for us, but we will hit a few and be very happy with that.

Go Pack! Sorry G-Dad, but this Giants fan cannot stomach the Vick love-fest any longer : )

Great plan Little Buddy on seeing shows, alternating who goes and making a family trip out of it

playing with your boy the morning after a show will match any open jamming i’m sure

love it, your life is not over because you have a family – priorities just change, not saying its for everybody cuz its not

i dig the Tweez, too 🙂

  11. Robear Says:

LB, the crew @ Club Mango universally loved and love the MSG ‘Tweezer’. U R not alone.

hope to see the kiddo this summer!

    @ butter- What?

  12. Lumpyhead Says:

I like the Tweezer. I’ll say that it’s a lot of time spent considering the gOld within, especially for 3.0. But I do like it. The light, however, is weak. I’ve been wanting a massive light since I saw its debut at Fenway

  13. butter Says:

just in the planning stages of expansion 😉

i know a planned pregnancy is shocking in our scene

  14. Robear Says:

so many massive ‘Lights’. maybe they just ran out of ideas. combined with the surprisingly in-attentive crowd on the 30th. C’est la vie!

Lumpyhead, u missed all the ‘Lights’ in ’10? They were all pretty massive, aside from MSG.

  15. butter Says:

the Light jam is weak, for me the lyrics still carried weight after the Tweez journey

^ keith olberman on AZ shooting…pretty powerful commentary

  17. Robear Says:

no doubt butter. strong lyrical version. plus, I think the jam is just fine up until the last minute or so, where it peters out. the first 7-8 min. sound similar to the bigger fall versions.

  18. Mr. Palmer Says:

    Love that Tweezer.

  19. Little Buddy Says:

The Light def fell short. I think they could have mined some gold if they stuck with it for a while longer, but I think Trey probably thought he had to pull the crowd back in with a new song. Theme was an odd choice at the moment, but ah well.

  20. Lumpyhead Says:

I missed every ’10 light except for ACL, which, you know…

  21. Lumpyhead Says:

The crowd seemed inattentive every night!

  22. Little Buddy Says:

“i know a planned pregnancy is shocking in our scene” LLFA

Yeah, I wrote the other day that the Light lyrics really affected me at MSG. They hit me harder each time as life continues to throw curve balls. Obstacles are stepping stones. Might also have been a message to the inattentive crowd to get present and leave their minds behind for a bit.

  23. Jtran Says:

    Love that Tweezer as well.

  24. butter Says:

i was hangin out with a tour buddies 20 year old niece that’s been turned onto Ph 3.0, she caught ACL

she says hot show with lame crowd

  25. Little Buddy Says:

I thought the crowd was totally locked in on 1/1. Mostly good in my section throughout the run. That’s why I always hang in upper page side though. Been our home for 15+ years at the indoor shows.
