TTFF: March Madness Mix

The Madness

With the NCAA Basketball Tournament moving through the prime-time rounds of sixteen and eight today and tomorrow, here is another form of March Madness that can accompany the games: March Phish! With the exception of one selection this week, all tracks are pulled from the month of March in Phish history, focusing primarily on the years of 1992 and 1993. (And most are in SBD form.) Enjoy the music and the hoops, and have a great weekend!

The Landlady > David Bowie” 4.5.92 II

The only pick of the week that pops into April, but at this point, so does the Final Four. Check out this top-shelf combo from Boulder’s Fox Theatre to kick start your day.

10.30.10 (D. Lavery)

Reba” 3.22.93 I

A first set gem from the Crest Theatre’s legendary Gamehendge show  in Sacramento, California.

Stash ” 3.30.93 I

A imposing beast from Eugene, Oregon.

6.12.10 (L.Neuhaus)

Antelope > BBFCFM > Antelope” 3.13.92 I

One of two mind-numbing “Antelopes” in a week during spring ’92, this Phishy excursion comes from the well-known Campus Club show in Providence, Rhode Island.

Tweezer” 3.30.93 II

This rather experimental piece contains elements of groove, rock, and abstract jamming.

Feel Good

Harry Hood” 3.12.93 II

The cathartic exclamation point to Phish’s performance in Vail’s Dobson Ice Arena; a smoking and creative old-school version.

Mike’s > Lawn Boy > Weekapaug” 3.1.97 II

To close out the week, here is Markthalle’s Door’s-laced “Mike’s Groove” from Europe ’97, as documented on “Slip, Stitch, and Pass.”

    favorite Stash in a while

is why my wife’s bumper sticker on her car used to say

“Was it for THIS my life i sought”

have no idea what would happen if they dropped a Stash this summer, like the one from TTFF this week

we just have a much friendlier Phish right now, (see Stash form 10.31, with the beautiful and uplifting major keyed jam) and i don’t see anything wrong with it, FTR

  8. butter Says:

i believe we are just hitting Alpharetta on leg 1 @Palmer

we get back from NO jazzfest on Mother’s Day and it will be nice to chill at home for a long month before flying to ATL

concentrating on these hopeful CA shows

got the lady calling Alaska/Horizon, which flies out of Santa Rosa airport 12 minutes from our house to see if they will let her fly 8.5 months prego down to LA for the potential Hollywood Bowl show…..

    incase anyone’s ?ing our DEADication…..

then if Tahoe happens we will be sharing a house with a midwife who will have her meds and O2…just incase

  9. butter Says:

Bethel will be an effin party

hope everyone behaves for the most part ( i think they will, 3.0 has been fairly good like that)

cuz that will be a sick venue to have in the rotation….

make that our next dc or alpine!!!!!!!

  10. KWL Says:

    happy bday palms

catching my first furthur show on tuesday in binghamton, getting pretty stoked for it, seems like they’re having a great tour

  11. voopa Says:

I hear Alaska/Horizon is one of the worst. Best of luck, b.

  12. Spike2518 Says:

    Saw it again!!!!! 🙂

  13. KWL Says:

speaking of, who knows the best spots in binghamton for some food & a drink?

  14. kenny powers Says:

best On Your Way Down ever

    so slow and thick

    wake and bake rules

  15. butter Says:

they do ok voops, santa rosa flies to LA, Pdx, Seattle and Vegas, using Alaska/horizon

it actually makes flying kinda fun again, with no security lines and all the other bs that comes with the larger airports

they serve free wine and micro brews in the air, too

  16. Robear Says:

    from Garcia Interview:

“Why do you think you’ve attracted such a loyal following?”

“It must be really hungry out there. [Laughs.] I blame the general low quality of life, you know.”

    lmfao^^^^ Leg II dates, anyone?

  17. butter Says:

if i leave my house at the same time for a santa rosa flight vs an oakland or sf flight:

i ARRIVE in one of those cities before my flight even leaves the bay area airports

  18. butter Says:

very true, morn Robear – did you receive cd’s?

  19. kenny powers Says:

    I love Onion SportsDome

“we got some science news, Alex I know you are a bit of a skeptic”

“never had cause and effect explained to my satisfaction”

“be that as it may, paleontologists have uncovered the fossilized remains of a previously unnamed species of Van Gundy, shedding light on the development of coaching in North America”.

  20. Robear Says:

probably down at the PO Box, butter. will check today.

go check that link i posted, with a big icey tube. sunday session. it’s an aud., but your ears will adjust within’ a minute or so. bring you right into the room.

these Further setlists the last two nights look great. i need some live music.

  22. Robear Says:
