That Alligator smokes! The UJB is unbelievable. And I have to agree with Dude about the St Stephen>Eleven>Unbroken Chain. These shows offer an endless supply of near perfection

  2. garretc Says:

    @TIII

    Thanks!

  3. verno329 Says:

@Duder what page are the links for those matrix recordings on? didn’ grab them the first time

  4. phoammhead Says:

trey rips that alligator in the early to middle

then it goes here and there for a while which is still good

then trey and kimock bring it home in little friendly sparring at the end.

    trey sounds really good!

  5. Monsterpus Says:

Does anyone know the back story of how the Phil & Ph shows came about? It’s incredible enough that it happened, but totally unbelievable that they would all ‘click’ like that. Sounds like they’d been playing together for 20 years, but with the energy of 20 year olds

  6. Mdawg Says:

    0:40’ish mark http://youtu.be/9tCdnhby67c

  7. phoammhead Says:

so true, monster. it’s in their blood . . . no other explanation!

  8. phoammhead Says:

i’d like to see trey and kimock get back together in some sort of collaboration. what would that look like?

  9. Monsterpus Says:

    Magical moments, indeed

  10. tela'smuff Says:

dude – i snagged the matrix recs. amazing and thanx for the heads up.

Stereolab is a daunting discography, and can get repetitive real quick. Start with Emperor Tomato Ketchup. It’s their best IMO.

  11. EL Duderino Says:

    @ verno

    14 or 15 I think

  12. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    @monsta

the jambands.com interview with phil about it. second page has the money quotes.

  13. EL Duderino Says:

I want to see Kimock and Derek Trucks together in a P&F collaboration if we’re dreaming about stuff like this

  14. Mr.Miner Says:

thanks for all your support on that silly facebook poll.

  15. Mr. Palmer Says:

you didn’t start that poll @ miner? 😉

  16. phoammhead Says:

    dare to dream, dude! 🙂

  17. Mr.Miner Says:

love that all the P & Ph shows are getting so much love. glad I left em up another day…love the caspian…totally different approach to the song, and when Kimock hits those descending melodies…forget about it…i’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…best concerts ever…

  18. Mr.Miner Says:

@ Palmer…no, Online Phish Tour made the poll, took about 70 total votes, and then tweeted that they had “polled the community” and YEMBlog was by far the most popular place for Phish content.

Here’s the thing about the poll, I don’t get what they mean by content. YEMBlog offers no “content.” They offer a portal to content around the web—that’s the point of the site. Anyhow, I digress. Thanks for the support…now, I need a redesign…

  19. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    @miner

    this may help

  20. phoammhead Says:

^just following your lead, miner! thank you.

and yes, you offer content . . .

i find myself hangin’ around to catch the content.

  21. Monsterpus Says:

Thanks T3. Good article, Phil seems like a great guy, too. I didn’t know that was his 1st time back after the organ transplant. That makes it even more incredible

  22. Mr. Palmer Says:

Miner- do you happen to know where the main picture on the top of the site is from? I’m just curious. Saw the original on the facebook page and its a great shot.

  23. Mr. Palmer Says:

I must have listened to the What’s the Use? soundcheck on the Japan release 20 times already. Love that shit. The actual show is pretty damn good as well. Get that if you don’t have it.

  24. butter Says:

How many Phish shows over the years have had an 11pm start time?

  25. EL Duderino Says:

the ’94 White album show went till like 2:30 am…

    late, late night
