I love that Phish shows start early. When I go see small bands, they usually come on stage around 11, after 3 bands I didn’t want to see, and by that time I don’t even want to be out anymore. (I’m old and need to be home watching Matlock)

  2. Mr. Palmer Says:

getting old blows. I’m with you Monsterpus.

  3. Monsterpus Says:

  6. EL Duderino Says:

    I own it Palmer… I’m a huge Dylan fan… So I love it.

Disc 1 is is about the acoustic folk days… Disc 2 is about when he goes electric

  7. EL Duderino Says:

…well the end of disc 1 starts with the electric transformation

  8. EL Duderino Says:

you’ll learn a lot if you haven’t read any of the books.

    Martin Scorsese film

  9. Mr. Palmer Says:

ahh. i have disc 1. disc 2 is next in line. I’ll give it a spin tomorrow maybe.

  10. Mr. Palmer Says:

  21. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

ok. threw up a few of the more recognizable Stereolab albums for a little primer.

as ‘smuff said, start with Emperor Tomato Ketchup – it is the best example of what they do.
Mars Audiac Quintet is top notch to my ears as well.
Transient Random Noise Bursts with Announcements has one of my favorite songs of theirs (Jenny Ondioline). that one might be an acquired taste…
[The Groop Played] Space Age Bachelor Pad Music is a good little one too. good mood music.

if you like what you hear, there is a lot more where that came from. it is a particular sound (and you’ll hear a lot of some of the newer music in it if you care to listen for it). they definitely have influenced a certain type of music.

click my orangeness and go to the Stereolab folder…

  22. garretc Says:

    Did somebody say “Miles Davis”?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5gYCa2WHiw&feature=feedrec_grec_index

I hope you can handle the extremely elevated levels of cool in the above television advertisement for Honda Scooters starring none other than Mr. Miles Davis.

  23. garretc Says:

Just grabbed Empire Tomato Ketchup TIII, I’ll give that a listen in the next few days, go from there, thanks

  24. verno329 Says:

Sweet Cheebus garret! Where did you find that?

  25. garretc Says:

    @verno

A friend of mine posted it on another friend’s facebook, saw it on the wall feed… Needless to say I had to watch it!
