    what up Butter?

you dig that Golden Age, Piper, Tweezer, and Twist from that set?

serious business man. psychedelic as fuck

  2. kayatosh Says:

    morning yall

    premium coffee – check
    premium herbs – check
    premium tweezer (7.2.2011) – check

amazing how well sball phish stands up to any era of phish in terms of musicianship, excitement, and aural pleasure.

  3. kayatosh Says:

like party time, many traditionally non-jam tunes at sball had something extra – destiny, wilson, quinn — come to mind.

this tweezer is $$$. love the scents tease from mike. a truly pampin, concise version. miami tweez also in its league.

any other notable 3.0 tweezers? hard to find the standout versions in the bunch.

  4. kayatosh Says:

and mound (7.3.2011), of course. incredible version. an all timer.

  5. Tzara's Ghost Says:

@kaya, the Miami ’09 tweez is justly famous. I’ve always been partial to mpp tweezer from last June. Concentrated liqeur of Phish energy.

  6. mitch Says:

Foggy in the morning. Stona coma is back.

  7. albert walker Says:

    I LOVE cinci tweezer

Red Rocks and miami are my 2 other favorites

there are a few other decent one’s like MPP, Hartford, and SC but I’d say Miami, Red Rocks, and Cinci are my fav 3

love the custy ball tweezer. right up there at the top

  8. albert walker Says:

like the cinci tweezer Trey makes a huge effort at the ball to attack the whole thing in an original creative way. not just the jam.

love just the way he plays the riffs. the new effects he’s toying with.

like most really creative phish excursions there are times you can feel the searching for a few measures before they grasp a new idea but the jam as a whole is amazing.

  9. kayatosh Says:

tzara’s: 6.26.2010 tweezer. hmmm. I also vaguely remember its goodness. thanks for mentioning it. need to do some tweezer research.

I also remember liking 6.18.2010 tweez. upbeat, danceable, friendly version.

  10. DukeOfLizards Says:

Fun fact: the same four-chord descending motif employed by Trey and Mike at the very beginning of the MPP ’10 Tweezer is also dropped by Mike and Page at the end of the SBIX Tweezer (10:43 on the SBDs).

  11. Mr. Palmer Says:

I know i’m in the minority here, but the MSG ’10 Tweezer is up there for me as well. Miami ’09, RR ’09 are good early ones also.

  12. sumodie Says:

sbix mcgrupp is so good I had to spin it twice

still not up to Golden Age yet. I expect serious flashbacks during that replay. Probably shouldn’t be driving when I finally get to it!

  13. albert walker Says:

I dig the MSG tweezer to P

some nice segments. haven’t spun that in months

  14. kayatosh Says:

yes, RR tweezer (7.31.2009) is $$$. thanks for reminding me. so much phish to keep track of. thankfully we have the collective brain here.

I do not have that cinci show 11.20.2009 (perhaps never found a decent aud) and have never listened to the tweezer. i have a new mission.

random highlights/recs. from this past week’s non sball listening:

    6.20.97 – the whole show.
    6.24.97 vultures, wolfman’s, twist
    6.25.97 dwd>piper>dwd>meatstick (proto version)
7.1.97- whole show but esp. ghost and reba, but yall knew that.
    7.1.98 – moma, DwD>dog faced, tweez>2001

GD 5.14.74 – weather report suite>DSchina doll (if you like transcendental space and exploratory jams, this segment delivers in spades)

  15. albert walker Says:

Atlanta tweezer > slave is real nice too

  16. albert walker Says:

the cinci 2011 tweezer is the one I dig

there are some nice moments in that 09 version too though I believe

  17. kayatosh Says:

need to revisit the sball mcGrupp. only the fifth version of 3.0. 10.20.2010’s version is $$$.

  18. kayatosh Says:

ok, that cinci.- 6.5.2011. right. that one was tight.

  19. albert walker Says:

Page crushes the mcgrupp solo at the custy ball. really special.

this light is sick as shit.

  20. kayatosh Says:

must also highlight 7.1.97 LxL->ain’t love funny. gorgeous. reminds me a lot of our modern day super phish.

  21. kayatosh Says:

7.3.2011 is a show you could live off of for a long time. tough to get bored with that one.

  22. kayatosh Says:

gonna cue up that custy mcgrupp now.

  23. kayatosh Says:

re. vaping — w/ the right apparatus (not the volcano) it is the best way to taste jah’s herbs. the quality herbs of today (esp. cali organic) is so high, the delicious taste and aroma are more of a draw than the effect. don’t get the same enjoyment and nuance of flavor w/ smoking.
    jah’s aromatherapy

  24. mitch Says:

    Cinci tweezer = dancedelic

I stand by the msg tweezer. Only reason it didn’t get mad props is cause 25000 spunions wanted it to be 40 mins then light left a bad taste cause it was cut. When you playback tho light is legit and they just jammed about 30 mins. Played to the audience or they wanted a break.

I think it goes up there in tier 2 behind Miami and cinci.

Welcome back butter. Leg 2 countdown

  25. albert walker Says:

I hope I can come around on that Kaya

when I went on the vape it was like drinking Sharps non alcoholic beers

I want to. I lasted 2 weeks my last attempt. not bad. that first bong back though was heaven.

i imagine I have to eventually but I’m not to excited about it.
