a pimp ride through the universe does sound like a good idea for the FP when i get home in a bit

  2. willowed Says:

AC DWD was smoking as well

Cut a bit short, but they hit a real nice jam at the end there.

  3. lumpyhead Says:

I know, Bethel sounds like butterfest to me.

  4. albert walker Says:

    reggae session anyone?

  5. phoammhead Says:

    uh . . duh!

  6. phoammhead Says:

AC was back in the days where we were satisfied that the boys were smokin’ it out with hot playing and dense jams

^ what do you mean by this?

  8. Tweezer Says:

All of the 3 day runs of 2011 ripped it up–Bethel, Superball, UIC, Denver… anyone else hear of a SPAC 7/7-9 rumor?

  9. phoammhead Says:

well, the statement is a bit of a generalization . . . but fall 2010 starting with north charleston (especially 2nd nite on 10.16.10) was a point where phish made a noticeable shift to really tight and clean playing, shreddy type 1 jams and dense shorter type 2 improve jams. the trend continued to the end of that tour through AC. . . . and we liked it and were largely satisfied, especially with some of the larger and longer jam offerings in the north toward the end of that tour. YMMV.

  10. Mr.Miner Says:

fyi, any longtime BBer who orders a book can get an inscription upon request. Sometimes people even get em without asking…just ask AW 😉

  11. angryjoggerz Says:

Is it wrong to have a glass of wine for dinner?

  12. albert walker Says:

    Miner knows his readers

  13. phoammhead Says:

. . . if phish comes back and plays 3 shows similar to AC 2010 i don’t think many of us will be satisfied . . . but that point is immaterial because the same won’t happen. considering many of us on this board are jam chasers or have become jam chasers, it’ll take some stretched out type 2 improve jams in AC this year to satisfy me . . . and there i go with my expectations. i will try to let go, let the music phlow through me and leave expectations at home . . . i really will.

  14. phoammhead Says:

Mr.Miner’s going to make me order another book.

  15. lumpyhead Says:

sonofabitch I wish I had known that back when I bought my book

  16. Gavinsdad Says:

Glass of vodka. I, on the other hand, am in phila and just wrapped up eating lemongrass chicken and pork chop over broken rice at my fave viet/Thai dive. So tasty. Now for some accoutrement and hope to run into @calpain lil bit later.

  17. lumpyhead Says:

so that every time I open my book it would read

    I…. am a submarine.

  18. Gavinsdad Says:

When im 70 and I look back I’m gonna think about how Miner really contributed to my 3.0 experience in many ways.

  19. lumpyhead Says:

I totally agree Phoam, that’s why I asked. Fall ’10 there was def a shift occuring, and yeah, since I’m trying desperately to see Phish and go through great lengths to do so this summer…. I want some fuckin IT.

if I get charleston 1’d or Alpharetta 2’d (like I did) at the shows I see this summer… you get the idea.

  20. lumpyhead Says:

@gdad – I don’t know Phish tour without Miner. Got in at the beginning of 09 before my first show at Fenway.

  21. sumodie Says:

Last year summer tour was announced on Tues Feb 22, 2011

So I’d say we’ll get some dates dropped this Tuesday

  22. lumpyhead Says:

I think it’s for sure this Tuesday. For sure.

  23. DukeOfLizards Says:

Chappelle’s Show on Comedy Central right now. One of the truly great works of my lifetime.

  24. albert walker Says:

    agreed GD

this site has been a big part of the return for me. ups and downs. boogie’d tweezers and all it’s been a blast and this book is a perfect way to remember the return of the boys.

for anyone seeing shows in 3.0. can’t see not buying the book.

at first I just bought it cuz I feel anyone that chills here that doesn’t is a bit of a dick but now that I’ve thumbed through it. you want it. really nice beast of a book.

and you may even get a summer of 89 lyric

  25. lumpyhead Says:

“White people love wayne brady because wayne brady makes bryant gumble look like malcom x”

is one of the funniest jokes conceived in my cognizant lifetime.
