I feel better about finally buying the book. Was on my “to do” list for too long.

Lumpy, inscribe your own book. It’s fine to do that.

I’m gonna write “To MikeinAustin. My favorite BB’er of all time. – Mr. Miner”

    People will think I’m cool.

You should read the inscriptions on my Stephen King books.

That dude just loves me. I’m his number one fan.

  2. lumpyhead Says:

I’ve read over half of it now. If I lost it tomorrow I’d order it tomorrow.

  3. albert walker Says:

did I forget to mention in our Obummer beat down earlier he has 3 hootie and the blowfish tracks on his spotify list?

    that is all

  4. DukeOfLizards Says:

Without this site I would not have caught the Storage Jam and UIC1. That really says it all.

  5. Mike in Austin Says:

Butter saw a whale today and I’m just leaving work.

    Butter wins.

  6. Robear Says:

there’s lots of room between poor in America and living in a corrugated steel and cardboard shack outside a gold mine in Africa.

Sumo, come on, man. I’m not saying things will ever be equal and completely safe for all, that’s not how nature works. But if you don’t think the people of the earth could be living a much better life, if we reigned in the corruption, theft and greed, than you don’t understand the abundance of the earth and human ingenuity. I at least realize I’m living in a culture of make believe. Do you?

  7. albert walker Says:

    recent sizzla interview

  8. Robear Says:

    It’s like this:

We live in a pyramid scheme. With REALLY steep sides.

All I’m asking for is a Bell Curve. A frickin’ Bell Curve.

  9. vegas wolfmans Says:

Hootie was huge my freshman year in college-95. They had recently made the transition from frat bars to the big time and people loved that album and that “Hold My Hand” song. Wolfman knew he was in the wrong place at the wrong time in the wrong era, took his financial aid money, quit college, and went on phish tour.

The moral of my story: fuck Hootie and the Blowfish.

  10. vegas wolfmans Says:

    11/27/98 Weekapaug owns.

  11. albert walker Says:

wolfmans and I are from the same pack

    I lasted 2 months.

fuck these kids. amateur white kid partiers ating stupid on mommy’s dime.

laterz. dead tour. fuck Hootie. fuck the pres that digs Hootie.

how bout a prez that spins some JB’s and miles and Marvin or some BDP like a normal fuckin cat.

  12. sumodie Says:

When im 70 and I look back I’m gonna think about how Miner really contributed to my 3.0 experience in many ways.

    Proper.

Miner kicked my ass into the digital age!

Before the reunion, I only spun whatever LP releases I had on CD. But starting in summer ’09 I finally started grabbing mp3s thanks to hanging here and I quickly migrated to lossless. Now I’ve got almost every Phish show on my HD (in lossless of course) and it’s a constant goldmine of discovery.

It seems obvious, yet, nowadays while listening to live phish I’m sometimes struck with wonder that not only does all this awesome music actually exist, but I have it all within easy grasp.

And now I have this magnificent lethal weapon of a coffee table book that offers a wealth of siiick phish knowledge -something that will only increase in value over time (the book’s massive size is perfect, def wouldn’t want it any other way)

    So yeah, Thanks Miner!

  13. thedayman Says:

12/31/03 stash, yes. cant get enough

  14. vegas wolfmans Says:

I like to believe that Obama digs on BDP behind closed doors.

  15. garretc Says:

“The moral of my story: fuck Hootie and the Blowfish.”

But without them you might not have dropped out of school and gone on Phish tour…

You should be prostrating yourself before your deity of choice that he/she/everybody/it put Hootie and the Blowfish on Earth at such a time to instigate your new life plan!

  16. albert walker Says:

no one that digs REO digs BDP

those 6 letters are never anywhere near each other in a proper vinyl collection. never in the same house.

i once heard a mash up of eric b and rakim and john cougar at a party preshow that I still think is the reason the MSG new years run went off the rails

    these things can’t be mixed.

  17. ae Says:

Duder please send my regards to gcub.

  18. vegas wolfmans Says:

Carrot – I have no regrets. Perhaps I should be pro-Hootie.

::dons white ‘cocks’ hat and hums hold my hand w/ small tear welling::

I like that the New Years run from ’03 gets a lot of love on this board. I was there and agree that much of it is excellent. Especially 12/29/03- great show.

eric b and the coug mashup is fucked up.

  19. Mike in Austin Says:

    John cougar.

    Just had to write that.

  20. angryjoggerz Says:

“no one that digs REO digs BDP
those 6 letters are never anywhere near each other in a proper vinyl collection. never in the same house.”

Now that is some funny at true shit right there.

  21. sumodie Says:

ahhh, robear, I was just responding to the convo at the time -was actually curious how folks might define a comfortable life (I think that’s what you were referencing…)

whatever I think of American culture, it’s def REAL, even if it might be artificial, unequal, shortsighted, etc

Our current system(s) are incredibly complex, yet they are changeable. I also don’t think it’s all up to one person (aka the US Prez), and I also think lots of people tend to act like sheep and not think

Hard to put what I truly think into a few words here too. Suffice to say I’m optimistic about planet earth but pessimistic about homo sapiens

  22. sumodie Says:

Lol, homo sapiens means ‘wise man’ or ‘knowing man’

Sounds like an oxymoron to me 😉

  23. albert walker Says:

I told AJ about the mashup

i felt raped after hearing it

  24. RoosterPizza Says:

No spoilers did it for me. That’s when I stopped listening to songs and started listening to shows.

  25. thedayman Says:

on to the IT waves. can hear the darkness through the recording, some scary shit. i like it.
