@marcoesq not since college days, but the active college crew is based there. Long live wilmer’s park. Ride was an easy encore guess…but I was giving 20-1 odds on Be Sure to Wear Flowers in your hair….Mike on vocals of course….

    Hazel posting! Nice. Great time.

  6. Commie Says:

    mckayla is not impressed

Seriously – last night was a great show but I’m still digging long beach. Am I the only one that feels this way?

  7. Spasm Waiter Says:

Love the stories and feedback from SF

  8. Selector J Says:

Been out of the BB loop… but I’m guessing someone has pointed out that the whole “webcasts ruin shows” nonsense has been officially debunked.

Finally, something we can all agree on.

  9. Henry Says:

I think deep down all anyone wanted that nonsense to officially debunked

  10. Litteringand Says:

Ive listened to the front of this second set like 5 times today. Amazing. All you guys out there really saw something for the ages. Cheers. BRING ON THE DIRTY SOUTH!!!!!

  11. snow Says:

@Selector – but it has been replaced with the question of whether Bingo’s is right and they were baiting the band.

Such a sick weekend. I had a blast Friday and Saturday.

I’m down for the sub-10k venue plus webcast. I loved the BGCA.

  12. MiA Says:

I hope they do this again in the spring!

  13. joe Says:

I dig Crowd Control as opener. need more undermind songs in rotation, including Undermind. (not that today is a day to register anything close to complaints/suggestions for improvements)

  14. MiA Says:

My suggestion is to keep doing that!

  15. bob dylan Says:

Does anyone have any ideas for a cool one color screen print? I’m off tomorrow and wanna screen. All my ideas seem cool for a min then I’m bored of them.

  16. Phamily Berzerker Says:

    Ruppert,

Make a poster of a toaster that says Roaster.

  17. bob dylan Says:

I should screen Robears mug on a shirt and hit lot with em. I could fund the next 3 tours in a week.

  18. bob dylan Says:

^then I wouldn’t skip bgca and be the only bitter person on the bb today.

    Work < bgca

    Home.

Currently about 95 outside. Calves feel like they weigh about 2 tons each. Walking around like a 70 year old. But I don’t care. Still glowing.

I think last night may have been the best show I’ve ever seen. At times I was recalling the euphoria of shows like Warfield 5/27/94, Shoreline 9/30/95, Gorge 7/17/98, Red Rocks 8/6/96, but I don’t think I’ve ever been so consistently blown away by the band on any one night. Not even in ’93. Sure, I’ve seen Trey do some amazing things, and some nights it seems like it’s all about Mike, but they are ALL playing and listening so fantastically right now that it’s like the culmination of everything good that’s come before.

This is a band that has evolved by leaps and bounds since 2009. We all knew it would take some time, but did anyone see this coming? More and more solid songs, jams, segues, sections, sets and shows. It really is all coming together now.

My only complaints- Page needs to be louder. Heard a lot of him on the LB SBD that I missed at the show, and was straining to hear him at times this weekend. And I would have loved something from the 2.0 era to really tie it all together. Crowd Control doesn’t count.

There was a pesky w00k trying like hell to get in through side doors about an hour before last night’s show. Actually got in once, then thrown out, saw him throwing punches w/a guard in the middle of the street shortly after that. Maybe CC had something to do w/that?

Anyway, a great CA run to be sure. One for the ages. Although LB and last night will get the most spins, there’s great moments from the other 2 nights too. All deserve heavy rotation IMO.

Awesome hanging w/Robear and Stash, Silly and Tori, AW and K, xpun, snow, garret and mr. garret, gdad, Df, MiA, jtran and everyone else. Had some good chats and laughs, wish I could have spent more time w/y’all. Saw kaya during set 2 but didn’t make the connection until later. Next time!

  22. Litteringand Says:

This is definatly in the running for best yem of 3.0. Top five at least

  23. voopa Says:

At times last night Trey’s tone made me think of that Jerry quote where he says he can hear his tone change when someone’s smoking DMT on or near the stage…there was some crazy energy in that building last night.

  24. bob dylan Says:

Voopa, not familiar with that quote. Was he saying he’d be contact high and hear it change?

  25. bob dylan Says:

Speaking of crowd control, how was the ticket sitch? People all stranded or knew not to even go?
