    one of Miner’s best articles.

but esriosuly i was blown away last night. the whole second set was rad.

i went to the webcast party at the bar in NYC again. it was coll but it was kind of annoying because the people behind me were also big phans but they were just the worst phish phans i could ever really think of. i disagreed with every word out of their mouth. it was honestly shocking… here are some of the worst moments…
    – halway trhough Crosseyed jam “come on boys your doing so much Bobby Weir shit, i wanna hear a real jam”
    – halfway through Light jam “honestly, this jam sucks”
    – theme from the bottom starts “FINALLY something that might save this set”
    – “yea we come to the webcast and of course this is the worst show of the year”
    – bug starts “now we’re talking”

What? i cant imagine what those people are looking for in a phish show… truly bizarre. and when they werent saying that stuff, they were still talking, alomst the whole time, about the show. sort of really killed my buzz all night.

    First set highlights?

Reba, Free, Mound, Walk Away, NICU, Back on the Train, Gotta Jibboo, Roggae, and David Bowie

Well, at least that’s what I thought last night. Downloading ALACs for respin. Probably will take all day based on internet connection speed. Going back to sleep.

And Trey has clearly got the high as a kite/”Blister in the Sun” theme stuck in his head. Subtle teases in both solos so far – Crosseyed and Light.

5 minutes into Light, this is one of the best Trey solos I have ever heard. Perfect combination of shreddy and gorgeous.

@purple- That’s awesome! The comedy factor was probably worth the price of admission alone.

    ::said note dripping with sarcasm::

  7. purplehumpbackwhale Says:

but seriously. the crosseyed was a fantastic exploration, trey kept pushing when he had opportunities to wrap it up. light was also just a groovy blend of cool island-type jamming. and then sneaking sally started off with a cool jazzy groove, different than usual. so much freedom and throughout all three songs, basically 45 or so minutes of fantasy phish.

“this is one of the best Trey solos I have ever heard.”-DiF

You obviously haven’t heard one lick of the UIC ’94 B-S

  9. neemor Says:

    And there it is.

  10. DryIceFactory Says:

7 Minutes into Light… Trey still soloing – still waiting guitar teases, arguable Tweezer Reprise tease -> Timber type jam from the whole band.

  11. DryIceFactory Says:

I’m obviously kidding, its good though.

i’m glad they brought for you folks’!
Nothing worse than an under performing run of shows.
I hope everyone got a ‘lil something of what they wanted/needed!

    Will KC slay or hibernate?

  14. Spasm Waiter Says:

So best show of 3.0, sounds like…

  15. Fly Says:

    Life is beautiful!

  16. Phamily Berzerker Says:

So it sounds like it may be worth a spin?

    Livephish app, FTW!

  17. tela'smuff Says:

what stood out to me last night Mr. Mike Gordon. felt like he was making up songs during the C&P jam. he was masterful all night long. and that’s judging from the glory hole.

  18. oldskool Says:

KC will slay! huge skip show

  19. TJ Says:

an unbelievable set and so nice that we were able to enjoy it via webcast. Maybe Mr. Minor will stop with insidious remarks about how more people sharing in the music ruins it somehow. You should have to write a full page apology to Brad and the folks who work so hard to bring true fans the music who can’t attended because they have real jobs and families to support and this privilege to purchase the live video is just Phish being one step ahead of everyone else…as usual. Your on an island Mr. Minor.

  20. Henry Says:

I thought the exact same thing last night, and after my first spin I still think so. Mike (and the whole band) was composing in the moment last night. Around the 11 or 12 minute mark of Crosseyed I thought they had segued into a new song

  21. Frankie Says:

The highlights from this weekend is some of the best music I have ever heard in my life… I’ll be listening to it 40 years from now, sitting on the porch…

Amazing band that they can do that so late in their career… A force of Nature!

  22. Dorn76 Says:

    Turd, meet Punchbowl.

  23. Litteringand Says:

First listen and i’m thru the croseyed reprise. Fucking wow

  24. jdub Says:

Gordon and Fishman were working it hard together. Both were masterful from my high class glory hole. They elevated the show at every turn. Trey and Page just painted pretty pictures on top of their rock solid foundation.

  25. Dorn76 Says:

@Mia, that Clift bar looks like the perfect spot for a post show cocktail. Hoping the BB can start telling stories soon so I can fill up my to-do list in SF for a trip this Nov.
