Zero -> 2001 -> Cities -> Yamar” 11.26.97 II, Hartford, CT

One of the consistently underrated sequences of Fall ’97, in which Trey brings the spirit of Jimi to life.

“Mike’s Song” 12.30.93 II, Portland, ME

Miner nailed it when he said he would like to see Mike’s Song become a jam vehicle again. This is the goods.

  8. poop goblin Says:

prepare to be blown away by tinariwen Kaya

drum n bass groove is just hypnotic and the lead cat has licks all day

    very hip sound

  9. RoosterPizza Says:

Oh yeah. Big beer weekend went well until I almost cut my finger off while sharpening a knife. The doctor at the ER asked me if I had been drinking, and then we struck up a conversation about big beers. My thin blood gave it away…

  10. joe Says:

no lead guy this time (if you are talking about the dude that doesn’t wear the head scarf). or at least he wasn’t with them Saturday night.

and I can’t get enough of the Mike’s. almost time for my daily listen. Fishman drum beats boggle my mind in parts of this one.

  11. RoosterPizza Says:

Fishman owns that Mike’s for the last 4 minutes.

  12. kayatosh Says:

Dusty, trying to get this work done and enjoy the hills
    Gdad, Juggalos 4 Life!!
Kaya, in agreement wih Poop about Tinariwen

  15. RedRedWorm Says:

Card just got hit for nearly the full amount I put in for…woo-hoo!

  16. RoosterPizza Says:

When can I expect to hear something about the lottery? The only other one I did was for the Essex show, and that was obviously a quick turnaround on that.

  17. RoosterPizza Says:

and the above post answers that question.

    LINK DAY

i honestly like the amount of humor happening here and dig it when talent is in on the joke (meaning how many people hate riff raff but dude is actually funny as hell)

    diplo killed this beat too

Can’t get enough of all of these Kariem Riggins drops lately, dude is crushing it. Stone’s Throw was smart to get on that. Jazz drummer, hip hop producer, sometimes MC – man has skills. Been getting a bunch of nice extras through my Stones Throw subscription. Respect.

  20. poop goblin Says:

love the ALone Together drop AJ

nice reference to the jazz standard

  21. robear Says:

Littleumb, how long u in town?

  22. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

@gdad, no idea, I always score my tickets on ticketmaster

  23. Gavinsdad Says:

    U a lucky mofo

  24. mitch Says:

Poop, how was Neil? Isn’t that the show you saw instead of the hip hop show?

  25. dusty Says:

my favorite lately has been Sierra’s Hoptimum. Sierra has a bunch of decent wet hop releases and such, but this whole cone hop effort is a perfecto pallet bruiser…at least for me. Stocked up on some Bear Republic HopRye just now at the store. Still looking for my Lenny Bias of IPAs…incredible potential but high octane takes me down early.
