StarLake12 Set 2: the Wormhole Jam

Mikes thru Seven Below some of the deepest, most unique, most ethereal playing of the return. Gadzooks. Everytime I spin that second set, my jaw finds the floor. Heart finds the stars.

Cementing my preference for summer 12 > summer 13.

  4. Jerome Garcia Says:

Morning BB. Got some catching up to do the past couple days. StarLake12 wormhole jam sounds interesting…Mikes thru Seven Below eh? Probably has something to do w/ the show being played in PA.

  5. Stoney Case Says:

3/4 of band plays #555 last night. Trey being the No Quarter.

what is shaking, bb? spinning that set now, stoney- thanks for the rec.

our little local mountain’s closing day was yesterday- a wonderful celebration celebrating a wonderful season. the big areas are open for a few more weeks and april has been snowy thus far. this season keeps rolling along.

once the melt freeze occurs with more regularity, it will be time to ride the big peaks. backcountry spring skiing- a whole new season.

    enjoy the day, bb.

Recently added dates for Chris Robinson Brotherhood in June & July. Lots of BBers’ backyards getting the CRB. Highly highly highly rec. Believe our own phlorida phan is helping the Brotherhood kick off their tour at The Ritz Ybor on Sun 4/13. What a Sun ole phlor’s got line up…Masters > CRB = winning.

  11. roberto luongo Says:

Chris Robinson still makes music? that’s really a thing? weird.

  12. Jerome Garcia Says:

Yep. Good music too. Quite psychedelic taboot. I think you’d dig CRB rl. Then again you might hate it. Not much middle ground w/ the poop goblin. You should catch the Sat 6/14 show at Park West.

  13. Jerome Garcia Says:

Here are their two albums released in 2012 which were both recorded over the same recording session. Like a lot of bands we tend to collectively dig they are better served live.

My level of starburst, rainbow level effusion afterwards was the best experience (except maybe Indio ’09) that I had experienced. Cincy > Starlake was a FANTASTIC back to back’er.

Good call Stoney. Diving in. Gonna taste the rainbow.

catch this tour if ya can kids.

  21. dorn76 Says:

Look how JG earnestly drops CRB album linkage into the meat grinder that is RL’s opinion of “hippie bands”.

  22. Jerome Garcia Says:

^checking this Spiderland. Clocks in at nearly 2 hrs; guess that’s the addtl 14 previously unreleased tracks? Switched out ESPN Radio app for Slint. Not sure if it’s my bag but gonna give it a try.

Short tour hits most major NE & Midwest markets.

Surprised it hasn’t been chewed up & spit out already this AM dorn to be honest.

  24. roberto luongo Says:

I can’t even get worked up over Chris Robinson

like I said. I didn’t even know he made music anymore. that’s the great thing about peeps like him. dont even have to listen to his shit to know exactly how it sounds.

props to Kate Hudson though. quite a piece back in the day.

  25. dorn76 Says:

How about I poke you with this stick?
